Tell me, what other FPS game can you whack people with a golden frying pan while wearing a burning hat, turn them into gold, then fly out of the world with a boy with baseball bat wearing a cleaver on his head, then see him turn into ice by a man with a ice stick wearing a horn with thunder on it?

Well, there are no best things in tf2, making it balanced, some might be good with one, while others prefer other weapons. With a bunch of cosmetics and hats, tf2 is perfect for any age, from a tryhard 10 years old to a adult who spent 100 dollars on a hat.

After the introduction of the leveling system I feel like it got a bit weak in the overall casual and competitive system, but they managed to fix it like Valve always do. Competitive isn't the same like the seasons and organised teams like before but it is still enjoyable. All classes have so much personality and feel relate able , even though they are just guys that's what makes them amazing. Again unlike Overwatch there's a reason both teams are fighting, everything in this game just MAKES SENSE. This game changed me for the better and I'm glad I discovered it, and you should to. Expand

Great fps, and for free. Every character is full charisma, and it's a blast to play.

TF2 is made by the gods of game developers Valve. TF2 brings in so much stuff to make the online FPS genre feel like a new fresh idea. Tons of more classes that, unlike COD, feel like they're different with different appeareances and customization options.

Gameplay is done in a sort of way to make the player, like me, get addicted to this and make them not want to move for a while, until you improve and make it so that you're the best possible. If u find a server with a perfectly balanced team, you will have tons of fun, filled with tons of tension and tons of fun.

If any of you have seen my L4D2 review, you'll remember when I said that it mainly focuses on realism but also has a slight cartoon tint to it. TF2 throws realism out the window, goes with a full cartoon tint and cartoon gore and rarely takes anything seriously and it knows it doesn't take itself seriously at times and I respect it for doing that as I haven't seen many shooters that do this sort of thing. It's either that shooters take themselves really seriously, which is the majority of the shooters out there or shooters that take themselves so seriously that it's funny.

The classes actually feel unique. Unlike other shooters where it feels like it doesn't really matter what class I take, in TF2 it really does dependon ur play style. If u pick a sniper, it REALLY IS harder to fight close distance. If ur playing as Heavy it REALLY IS hard to fight long distance.

TF2 is a nice breath of fresh air and I'm glad to see that it doesn't follow what other game devs are doing which is why I really respect Valve for making this.

    Pros:
    + Addicting
    + Good classes
    + Good gameplay
    + Creative graphics

    Cons
    - A few glitches

Not to mention that it's free and now almost 10 years after release it is better than ever, with new maps, campaigns, and content still being added. The biggest flaw though, is that sometimes it suffers from staleness. The meta doesn't change much. There are dozens of weapons available for every class, but most classes have only one or two accepted loadouts that can be used successfully. I would love to see some balance changes made so that less-used weapons become used again. Also, Soldier and Demoman gets WAY too much love from Valve. They have the most powerful and widest viable weapon selection by far, and that kinda sucks. Especially for someone whose favorite classes are Pyro and Heavy, both of which have been nerfed into the ground in recent updates. Still, the game is good enough to bring me back time and time again. I'll keep playing it as long as there are people to play with.

    Also, **** random crits.

This game is so close to perfection. With free access and a technically perfect weapon balance, the only bad thing here is the stuff that is missing. Come on, no grenades? No vehicles? Thankfully, powerups and other cool things have been added as weapons and game modes.

In TF2 all of the classes are balanced and (mostly) whenever you die you will understand why you died and can avoid it when it happens again. There is also a great art style that works perfectly with its comedy and gameplay. If you are worried that this game will look terrible because it came out in 2007, you shouldn't. The graphics surprisingly hold up well, due to the art style not being realistic. Shooting people in this game feels so rewarding. Spy is a sharp dresser and has a hitbox like a rectangle with limbs and a head. The game is also free and is balanced so the stock weapons are the best in overall situations. There are also hundreds of cosmetics that allow you to express yourself in so many ways. Some people say that this game has devolved into a fashion game, but I disagree. The cosmetics in this game are just that, cosmetics, as they provide no competitive advantage. Admittedly, this game has some problems such as the toxic people, speech binds, random crits, not having access to all the weapons at the start, a very limited inventory for people that play for free, awful tutorials, and the tryhard veterans that keep killing people new to the game. You can still do well with any class if you don't have much skill. Words can not describe how much fun this game is, just go out and have fun. Expand

Team Fortress 2 is often credited with popularizing the team based shooter that we see in games ranging from Activision/Blizzard's Overwatch and HiRez's Paladins. To say that the game was influential would be a hefty understatement. In 2007, this game released in a package known as "The Orange Box" and delivered an experience unparalleled to anything like it at the time.
Today, with lackluster and infrequent updates, the game seems to have lost some of it's appeal. Now it has become somewhat of another meme to those already familiar with Valve's development process. Players are lucky to see a major update a year and that is, for the most part, pushing it.
Most in TF2's community will admit that the art style of the game has shifted away from it's mid-Cold War aesthetic to that of a teenager, with a particular fondness for psychoactive drugs, from the Cold War era with the ability to time travel. I say this due to the old cosmetic items of WW2 era helmets being in the same game that players can wear banana hats in.
The community's main complaint is about substance and updates which in a free-to-play online shooter are extremely relevant and necessary to keep a game alive. Unfortunately Valve is more concerned with selling games now and making designer gloves in other games a real thing (look it up). TF2's development team now dwindles to around 15 or 16 people and most of those are artists with only about 5 working on developing the game itself. Valve's founder Gabe Newell doesn't care if the game dies, the same way he doesn't care that supporters of Valve will never get to see the ill-fated Half Life 3.
Regardless, the game itself has aged beautifully, if you exclude gaudy cosmetics, and the core game play still takes me back to when I first started the game in 2012. Every kill is fun and feels satisfying. Every movement feels real and has an immense impact on whether you narrowly avoid a rocket or get blasted into 1,000 gibs. Despite me becoming more and more disenchanted with the game, I can't help finding myself playing for a few hours here and there and have casually racked up over 700+ hours playing it on Steam. For what it is, I say that TF2 is a solid but recently misguided masterpiece. If I would have written this review in 2014, I would have had a much more positive outlook on TF2, but I fear the end is soon for one of the grandfathers of modern team based shooters and free-to-play games alike.

Team Fortress 2, developed by Valve, is a multiplayer first-person shooter that has stood the test of time and remains a shining example of what a team-based game should be. Bursting with vibrant characters, strategic gameplay, and a charming sense of humor, this game has captivated players for over a decade and continues to be a beloved classic in the gaming community.

One of the greatest strengths of Team Fortress 2 lies in its diverse and memorable cast of characters. Each of the nine classes brings a unique playstyle and personality to the game, ensuring that every match feels fresh and dynamic. Whether you prefer the agility of the Scout, the heavy firepower of the Heavy, or the support capabilities of the Medic, there's a class to suit every playstyle. The class-based system promotes teamwork and coordination, rewarding players who understand their role and contribute to the overall strategy of the team.

The gameplay mechanics of Team Fortress 2 are rock-solid and highly polished. The tight controls and responsive gunplay make every firefight intense and satisfying. The game strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and depth, allowing both newcomers and seasoned players to enjoy the experience. The variety of game modes, from the fast-paced capture-the-flag to the strategic control point battles, ensures that there's always a mode to suit your preference.

What sets Team Fortress 2 apart is its sense of humor and style. The game is filled with quirky and memorable characters, each with their own distinct personalities and humorous dialogue. From the charismatic and bombastic Soldier to the ever-mysterious Spy, the interactions between the characters and the witty writing inject an infectious energy into the game. The cartoony art style, accompanied by the whimsical sound design, creates a vibrant and lively world that is a joy to explore.

Team Fortress 2's longevity can be attributed to its outstanding community support and frequent updates. Valve has continuously provided new content, including maps, weapons, and cosmetic items, keeping the game fresh and engaging. The community-driven content creation, with an extensive workshop allowing players to create and share their own maps and items, adds a wealth of variety and creativity to the game.

The iconic soundtrack of Team Fortress 2 deserves special mention. Composed by Mike Morasky, the music perfectly complements the game's energetic and fast-paced nature. Each class has its own theme, and the dynamic tracks seamlessly shift to match the intensity of the action. The memorable tunes have become synonymous with the game itself, further adding to its charm and appeal.

Even after all these years, Team Fortress 2 continues to be a thriving and active community, with a dedicated player base and a passionate competitive scene. The game's longevity is a testament to its timeless design and the joy it brings to players of all skill levels.

Team Fortress 2 is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. Its charming characters, strategic gameplay, sense of humor, and continuous support from Valve have made it an enduring classic in the gaming landscape. Whether you're diving into your first match or revisiting the game after years, Team Fortress 2 offers an unparalleled experience that will keep you coming back for more. It's a game that exemplifies the power of team play, camaraderie, and sheer fun, earning it a well-deserved perfect score.

This is truly one of the greatest multiplayer FPS games i've ever played.
I am playing it for a year and it's still entertaining, mostly because of updates, that, i think, come more frequently than MMO updates. With 9 classes to choose from, everyone will find their favourite gameplay style. And, of course, HATS. They make the game even more awesome... This is the best mix of RPG and FPS.

This game is the most fun you can have online. Why? First of all, there are no such things as "levels" or "experience" or "cheating", and everybody has an equal chance to win. Second of almost all, you can find items and craft items with the time, which is also super epic. Don't buy Counter-Strike, Download THIS for free via Steam.

On top of that, since this game is build on the source engine, one of the most (if not the most) modded game engines in the industry, users can add their own maps, weapons and customizations at will.
The game is very new player friendly, and at the same time very competitive. There are several videos on YouTube of dudes girlfriends/mothers/grandmothers who have never played first person shooters before and manage to pick up and play, get a few kills and have fun.
What with there being 9 seperate classes, all with different types of weapons and content being added on that allows you to customize the classes even further, the possibilities are endless. I would give the game a 9.9 as I don't believe any game deserves a 10, but if there was one bad thing I would have to say about this game, it's that some of the new weapons that are added into the game can sometimes be quite unbalanced, but this is usually fixed after a short while.

The theme and personality of this game is just breath taking. Valve could have very easily released a Team Fortress for HL2 just a few weeks after its original release, but no, they took their time with it and instead of rehashing a tired old concept they totally reinvented it, out of the projects released with the Orange box I'd have to say that while Episode 2 is nice (though short) and Portal is just mind blowing in concept, TF2 really outshines them both for innovation and outstanding design improvements. I've been waiting for TF2 for awhile now and watched it go through several ilterations and even appear to be vaporware, all I can say is bravo, the wait has been worth it and TF2 more than delivers in all facets of game play. TF2 sets the new bar for development in video games, combining great action, good team play and a really entertaining design theme to quite literally steal all the bases for a home run game. TF2's formula is simple: make it fun and make it fast-paced. This game passes with flying color. Game play is flawless, the graphics and general feel of the game is perfect. Aside from the usual beginning lag issues that you normally see in a multiplayer game, Team Fortress 2 is amazing. I cannot get bored.

Too much arcade in my opinion, and the updates make the game unbalanced. Too fast, and definitely you can observe the lack of tactics. Anyway, an addictive game, the best game at 7E

Good game, not a Great game. It could be a Great game but its depth that brings it down. Some classes don't even require any amount of skill and you can't get better at those classes either. For example with a medic all you do is hold down the fire button and follow the person around, they could have easily made a skill-based system to healing that would have been 10x more fun Good game, not a Great game. Pyros, i used to play them, people who play them now deny this. but theres almost no skill involved its a straight stream of fire I've never met a pyro much better than the next cause theres hardly any skill, they could have a made some sort of oil slick skill or overkill action. Heavies require a small amount of skill but are still hold down trigger and hope for best and hope a medic is there. All classes that have special functions require skill, like scouts actually take skill to aim and dodge with, especially dodge. Spies obviously take a good amount of strategy and skill. Snipers require aim most of all, and some melee skill. I like the classes that I can better myself at, the other ones disappoint me. Expand

A great online game, with a great amount of flaws. The removal of grenades may be one thing, but the crippling of the Sniper, the skimmed classes and several annoying new features plague this sequel. For instance, the Critical Shot System. Very bad idea in a competitive online game. When you're fighting, the battle should depend on your skill. Not your chance of getting a Critical Shot. Considering Valve removed a lot of fun from this game in the name of fairness, it's odd that they would include something as unbalanced as that. Anyone whose been running along at full health and been killed instantly by a Sniper with a machete who got a Crit Shot will know what i'm talking about. Also, the Kill Assist System, while a good idea, is very inconsistent. I've seen people get a Kill Assist ten seconds after they them, then people not getting a Kill Assist after they hurt someone and someone else kills him. Lastly, the aforementioned Sniper. This is yet another game where Valve have destroyed the Sniper simply because people complain about "fairness". A Sniper is suppose to be deadly, one-shot-kill man. Thats what the Sniper is about. Now, the only way you'll get a one-shot-kill is if you wait ten seconds for your sniper rifle to charge (yes, charge) and then get a direct headshot. This is made even more difficult due to the fact the Sniper rifle is incredibly inaccurate, the Sniper's health is incredibly low, and the bullet travel time is extraordinarily high. A good game, but contains quite a few dissapointments considering Valve has been producing this for nearly a decade. Expand

I loved team fortress 2 since the day I bought Orange box, 3 years ago, for over 60 bucks (instead of 20...), and since then I saw the various updates and downgrades of this great team shooting game. I always loved class based games and team based shooters so this game got me from the first moment, but now it's just a mere shadow of its glorious past. First things first, the shop really ruined this game, and in the worst ways possible: the weapons are now possible to be bought with REAL money and, in general, these weapons are just "lame" versions of the standard weapons you have from the beginning (instead of doing more damage, you get X more shots, or instead of more shots, you get more damage; the examples are endless). Not only that, some weapons are actually JUST useless (Diamondback, Pain Train, and some are just reskins like the Sharp Dresser or the Holy Mackerel) and some are far too strong (the recent phlogistinator is one big example). Why this choice? The game was perfectly balanced and really the only big updates were the first ones (the Force-a-nature, the Kritzkrieg and, one of the best to me, the dead ringer), but now we get tons of lame weapons, that we have to pay to get them or, if you're patient, you can craft them, which is actualy good: you can craft everything, like weapons, tokens for weapons, and, most "importantly", hats. But really, what's the point? They are barely visible and if I wanted to buy something for make my fave class prettier, I'd rather buy a total customization of the class, instead of simple hats. I just talked mainly because of the shop because it's just THIS the problem of the game: the game itself is still good, the maps are still very enjoyable and the game itself is still large, with 9 classes to learn and master and many ways to play them: it's a lot of content for a F2P game, which means you can easily play and try it out and luckily even enjoy it: you have already the best weapons! If it wasn't for the shop, I'd give it 9 or 10, but with this idea of the shop just...ruined what it was a really balanced and really well though game, making it into just a cash-in game with tons of useless weapons, useless customization options and, in addition, tons of disappointed fans of this once fabulous game. This game is PC gamer's essential. You can't call yourself a PC gamer and not at least try this game. The art style is unique and appealing. The community is a nice bunch of people.
The game has it's own charm, that keeps a big, goofy smile on your face the whole time you play it, maybe it's the art style, maybe it's the art style, maybe it's the personalities that each of the classes has, maybe it's how the game sort of makes fun of itself and takes itself so un-seriously.
There are frequent updates that keep adding new items and features that get the whole community excited and with good reason, these new items can throw a real curve ball in the right situation.
Lastly, whether you buy the game separately or in the deal of the century that is the Orange Box, the price is always right to buy a copy of Team Fortress 2. So what are you waiting for, go and fire up Steam, and download it, you will not regret it.

This game is fun and FREE!. I know, the graphics suck, and you gan take a rocket to the face. it is very unrealistic, but it is certainly fun. And free. Most of the free games really push you for buying things, but in TF2 it is easy to get weapons without buying stuff. So that's it.

This is one of the best shooter games that I have ever played (if not the best)! It's so great that it's really hard to describe into words. What I really have to like is the graphics. What I really have to like is the graphics. I think that the animated graphics are so great that it may even put Pixar to shame. However, the gameplay is where this game really shines. I had a lot of fun mowing down thousands of enemies as a heavy, completing hard objectives as a scout, and using total stealth as a spy. As for the gameplay modes, I'm happy they just stuck to the classic capture the flag, payload, and control points rather than coming up with something new. If they just did something new, I probably wouldn't have liked it as much. My only real problem with this game is the lack of a mini-map. It is really hard to navigate through the battlefield without one. However, the rest of the game more than makes up for this. Before I played this game, I had also played Star Wars Battlefront. Star Wars Battlefront is amazing, but if you ask me, its got nothing on this. To here I thought Star Wars Battlefront was this good; I stand corrected. Expand

TF2 really has a way of making this game incredibly fun to play. 9 classes, all with changing weapons, outfits, accessories. There's also an ability to craft items, trade them, and even purchase 100's of items in-game using real life cash. I believe the game is free to play also. u really can't go wrong with that!!!!!

Greatest multiplayer experience i've had in any game. It's not about the weapons or actual combat it's all about the community! Greatest community alive. Jumping around spamming voice commands, youtube videos, GMod associated. I met a lot of my best friends through Team Fortress 2. The hats are also cool too. So are the characters. Yeah.

The marriage of highly stylised retro-spy presentation, fresh, high octane action, deep and varied classes and the underlying twinkle of humour in its metaphorical eye make Team Fortress 2 far more than just your average fragfest. Long after the novelty of the graphics wears thin, we are left with a refined and accessible multiplayer game that simultaneously cultivates new players whilst retaining enough depth to accommodate even the hardiest of veterans.
  2. The game also does a lovely job of framing your relationship with other players and nurturing them.
  3. It's one hell of a game. With its powerful artistic style and blazingly quick, yet accessible gameplay, it's enough to melt the icy cynicism imprisoning the hearts of even the most jaded among us. That being said, it's not the most complex shooter out there.
