A perfectly satisfying second instalment of the fantastic Tales of Monkey series. The setting is a bit less typically Monkey Island this time, with the pirate town setting changed to an Atlantis-style mermaid island. I appreciate Telltale's attmpt of something different, and it leads to some great mermaid-mocking humour that the series hasn't seen before, but still leaves me looking forwards to a return to a more classic style in future chapters. The was some more subtle adult humour this time though, which 'The Screaming Narwhal' lacked. Again the game's graphics and length aren't more than what you'd expect for the price, but the witty humour and clever puzzles make it well worth a purchase if you enjoyed the first. Expand

The first chapter was already pretty good but this is a definite step up. The change of setting serves the game really well, with a well created atmosphere through a mix of gorgeous graphics, wonderful music and the new characters' design. The puzzles are incredibly tight and funny this time around, they will always feel satisfying to solve when you eventually do solve them. 1. The Siege of Spinner Cay takes off where the previous episode ended, and continues in the same fashion with great dialogue and a sense of humour rarely seen in games today.
  2. Just as was the case with the episode before it, Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay's puzzles represent excellence on Telltale's part. Not only are they consistently intuitive and well developed, but are generally accompanied with hilarious dialogue that should make any fan of Monkey Island chuckle from beginning to end.

The Siege of Spinner Cay is a funnier outing, with a cool plot and some great stumper-puzzles. It also continues to ramp up the action, tension and comedy of the series, making it feel a part of something much greater and more epic.
