Tales From The Borderlands: Episode 3 - Catch A Ride

It’s probably the funniest game on the market right now and I only want to play more. I can’t wait for Episode 4 to come out where, if my inclinations are correct, the adventure will continue into space.

Catch A Ride is Tales from the Borderlands' most exciting episode thus far, and its tense finale certainly ramps up anticipation for future episodes.

Hilarity underscored by humanity - a winning formula.

Not only is Episode 3 of Tales from the Borderlands a fantastic entry into a fantastic series, but it sets the stage for a thrilling final two episodes.

Episode 3 balances humor and drama to deliver the best chapter of the series so far.

Each second spent in its world teaches you something about the characters you're shepherding and the Borderlands universe at large. Episode Three is definitely the best we've seen of this series so far.

Episode 3: Catch a Ride manages to continue the great showing of the adventure series made by Telltale. It's fun, intense, and manages to really develop not only its original characters but also some of the stablished Vault Hunters from previous games.

Tales From The Borderlands Episode Three is easily the best installment so far in Telltale’s trip to Pandora, and it’s cemented the entire series as my favorite Telltale production to date.

A delicious, self-conscious and absolutely thrilling ride through Pandora's deepest secrets, Catch A Ride nails perfectly each element of what makes the Borderlands Universe such an appealing destination for adventurers from all across the galaxy.

Story details are finely processed. Surprising fact: Strong gameplay mechanics in a Telltale game. I think, the last two chapters will be amazing with little Gortys.

I wasn’t really looking forward to this chapter after I was so cold on “Atlas Mugged,” but “Catch A Ride” turned me around a bit. I’d still like a bit more engagement in the game–more puzzles, more sequences that involve actual skill–but this is good.

It's a very good chapter, and it has two distinct stories based on previous choices. It might be an opening for a great conclusion to this Borderlands spin off.

Tales from the Borderlands still provides worthwhile entertainment, but the comedic edge is losing its grip.

The humor is excellent, the voice acting is stellar, and the story continues to engage and intrigue the player with its dual-narrator structure. If you haven't taken the plunge into Rhys and Fiona's epic adventure yet there is no reason to keep waiting, as Tales just keeps getting better as time goes on. Tales from the Borderlands: Episode 4 can't come soon enough.

It's not quite as strong in every area as the preceding chapters were, but Tales From the Borderlands' third episode does a nice job keeping us invested, continuing to add new wrinkles to the adventure, and keeping us smiling.

The writing is as sharp as ever, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. The end of the episode has just the right amount of cliffhanger to it.

Another great episode in what is becoming Telltale's best series. But the sporadic episode release is harming it overall.

Overall it lacks the punch of the first two episodes and focuses too much on action, while character development is put on the back burner. Nonetheless I am curious how Telltale will continue their journey to Pandora.

The third episode entertains again, but the series slightly loses its pace at the halfway mark - last time it was more fun. It is a wonder what great influence have your decisions from the previous part. Telltale is often not good in this stuff but this time the made a real fork in the story.

This third episode of the Telltale incursion into the Borderlands universe starts off reaaaally slow, gaining pace towards the end, with a great cliffhanger and some interesting twists between a couple of characters. A decent filler: nothing more, nothing less.

I’m hoping for a better shake-up of action and exposition for the remaining two episodes because leaving a huge chunk of the latter to fill the middle feels contrary to the game’s origins. It’s a weird time to be had.

The all too familiar Quick Time Event mechanic, featured prominently in “Catch A Ride,” is old and its age is made all the more noticeable because of the weak story. It’s also unfunny, hurt by technical issues, and fails to inject excitement in its own narrative, one that I still have no idea of where it’s planning to go.
