As a tank simulator, T-72 is a ground breaking game in the genre. Not only because games like it are rare, but because of its unusual setting, and the highly unforgiving realism. The difficulty level can be too much for even the veterans of simulator games. Playing the game and commanding your tank is quite easy. The real challenge is to learn the secrets of modern tank warfare. And unlike many other simulators, T-72 doesn’t forgive if you make mistakes, but that also makes it very rewarding to play, when you succeed. [Sept 2005, p. 75]

The package gave me hours of enjoyment and nail biting engagement; it even made me sweat with suspense and convinced me that I was actually in a battle!
  3. A very good tank simulation, that's unfortunately not quite ready for prime-time.

Not a classic, but it's a desperately overdue addition to the tank-sim library. [Sept 2005, p.58]
  5. If you’re a fan of military sims, then T72 is definitely worth a look. Just don’t expect to be immersed in the experience. However, if you’re expecting a Battlefield-style experience, T72 is definitely not for you.

Engaging, turret-waving fun that unfortunately lacks "Battlefield 2's" variety. [Oct 2005, p.92]

A diamond in the rough. [Oct 2005, p.80]

The limited campaign, awkward interface, and other niggling issues result in a gme that even sim fanatics will have to work to like. [Nov 2005, p.71]
