    It’s absolutely true to say that you get out of Sword Coast Legends what you put in, but right now there just aren’t enough reasons to put much in.

    The story mode is actually the best part of Sword Coast Legends, which also allows players to create their own dungeons for others to explore.

    I can't understand why they did this? Why mess with a system that works well as it stands. There was no need to have scaled Npc's, that aloneI can't understand why they did this? Why mess with a system that works well as it stands. There was no need to have scaled Npc's, that alone has near ruined this game for me. The other thing that near ruined it completely for me is having no penalty for death. Where is the challenge in a game which holds your hands and walks you through it? With that in mind - it's a Diablo loot grabbing, hack and slash fest.

    Limited classes, No skill checks, Bad AI,, no crafting and I could go on and on.

    It's so unfortunate it's so far removed from DnD and is catered for a gamer that does not like to be challenged in a game. Thankfully some DEVS are still bringing out games which do. Divinity Original Sin, Pillars of eternity for example are vastly better games.

    True this game has the ability to have a DM. But it's so limited that I'd really prefer to not have it at all.

    Overall I'd suggest going elsewhere for a solid cRPG or, play this with an open mind and a very limited feeling of achievement when you finish it.

    Excellent campaign with great voice atcing and fun gameplay.

    For 27$ I payed in GMG.com, it is worth the price!

    Story mode is ok but if you are epecting 5e D&D you will disappointed. There are skill trees for example. You want fireball? You can have it but you have to spend skill points to upgrade it to fireball II and III.

    N-space also sold this game on the DM tools and tried to rid the coat tails of the NWN editor. If you are expecting anything close to NWN you will very disappointed. N-spaces bar for the DM tools is that they wanted to make it so easy an 8 year old could use it. Having done that they have limited it so much there is no way to make an EPIC adventure as stated in one of their selling points.

    The game as it stands right now would be ok if you can catch it on sale for less than $30. Maybe after a year of updates it will be something special.    … Full Review »
