Superhot VR is built upon a one-of-a-kind bullet-time mechanic that translates phenomenally well to VR. After a slow start, you'll find that the game is part action and part puzzle, as you dodge incoming firing in slow motion while finding the most effective way to shatter your enemies. The core gameplay is challenging and enjoyable, though it comes up just short of hitting a masterful climax of game mechanics. The story elements are mostly distractions, and, like many of the best VR experiences, we're left wishing there was more than the 2 or so hours of gameplay available. [Tested with Oculus Touch]

Superhot VR’s hypnotic blend of physical, cinematic action is just as entrancing as it’s ever been on Quest. In fact, the lack of wires truly allows you to devote yourself to its endlessly entertaining levels. It might not be worth a second purchase for existing owners but, for those that haven’t played it already, this is the best version of a genuine classic.

Superhot VR’s fantastically clever time-manipulating concept empowers you with the superhuman reflexes of a slow-motion action hero. Shattering waves of glass-like enemies while moving your face out of the path of incoming bullets is a thrilling challenge in both the cryptic story mode and the endless mode that follows.

Simple yet effective, Superhot VR gets it spot on from start to finish with mechanics that are easy to pick up on yet the overall game is as challenging as any VR title out there. This is a must have for VR owners who truly want to unlock the potential in their VR system.

I can’t stress how much fun SUPERHOT VR is when you become fully immersed… it’s like being able to be both John Wick and Neo at once. You can have your cake, eat it, and then be offered seconds.

Superhot VR is one of the best VR games out there. Blissful action in a unique setting, the game has a lot to offer. It's over too soon, but extra modes will keep you coming back for more.

Superhot VR makes you feel like a badass. While it does have a short runtime, every second of it is challenging and, when you succeed, rewarding. It’s easily one of the best and unique experiences in VR.

While short, SUPERHOT VR is very accessible, addictive, and simply fun to play. It’s also very comfortable to experience, and the Forever Edition adds more reason to come back for additional challenges should you desire. If you haven’t checked it out yet, this is the way to play it.

Superhot VR is visually cool and perfectly adapted for VR gameplay. The best VR game today.

SuperHot VR is one of the best games VR has seen yet. It’s a little bit short and on rare occasions the AI goes a bit loopy, but during the 99% of the time when everything is trying to kill you, it’s an incredible rush.

Not quite a tech demo but not quite a full adventure, Superhot VR is one of the best virtual reality games you can buy right now.

Superhot VR is one of the few VR games that you have absolutely to play thanks to the intriguing concept of time manipulation and to the perfect utilization of VR mechanics.

The stylish diving through the enemies bullets is a perfect fit for roomscale VR. It is quite short, yes. But nonetheless this is an exceptional game and a great addition for any action archive.

Ultimately, SUPERHOT VR feels more like the ultimate tech demo than a fully-fledged VR essential. Its gameplay is incredibly engaging, and it’s a perfect title to introduce someone to the capabilities of the Quest, but its runtime is rather short if you’re purchasing it just for yourself. There is replay value in the post-game modes, but you’re more likely to relive the magic by introducing SUPERHOT VR to someone else.

As enjoyable as it is, Superhot VR is not the essential game that VR needs to sell skeptics. However, it’s definitely worth checking out for those who are buying the Touch controllers for their Rift anyway. I just wish the game didn’t feel like it’s just getting started by the time it finishes.

We still have a problem in the game not evolving past its initial set of ideas, and resting on its laurels long before it gets to the end of its short running time, but this is definitely the most we’ve ever enjoyed it. It’s also another game where Oculus Quest’s superior controls and roomscale tracking makes all the difference.

Superhot VR’s responsive controls and impressive visuals make for a natural transition to VR, and a gripping sense of involvement. While the game lacks content, it is undoubtedly one of the VR-platform’s most interesting experiences, putting player agency on center stage.

This is what it feels like to be Neo in The Matrix. The simple but amazing surroundings combined with the original principle that time only changes when you move, makes Superhot an amazing experience.

Of all the VR games I own, this is easily the best. Alot of games I've played once or twice, or fire up to show friends and family what VR isOf all the VR games I own, this is easily the best. Alot of games I've played once or twice, or fire up to show friends and family what VR is like. But Superhot was the first game that made me really believe VR could be the future. There are flaws of course; it's much too short for the current price tag of $30 (only a few hours long), limited range of movement, not being available to Vive owners, and the occasional "why are my hands not doing them what I want them to" moment. But this is the kind of game that is important to the future of VR -- it's incredibly fun, it's fast paced and frenetic, it immerses you, and you don't want to stop playing it till you've gotten all the way through. If you own the Touch then I can't recommend this game enough, in fact of all the motion controlled games I've played this is the only one I would say is a "must own". Especially if you were a fan of the original game, you will not be disappointed. It's not perfect, but it's about as good a VR gaming experience as is currently available. Full Review »

    ==============

Superhot VR is not a copy of the original Superhot with added VR, it is in fact it's own game and story. That being said the story in both Superhot games is abstract and mostly hinting at things that might be going on.

Superhot VR's graphics and sounds are unique and abstract also, but they work really well in the context of the gameplay. A minimalist style allowing you to simply focus on the slow motion. The break sequences between combat use a more detailed art style but this lets you realise you are entering and exiting a game within a game.

The gameplay itself is the selling point of superhot and whilst it will take you a little while to adjust to not moving around unless you want time to move, once you adjust it is that exact feature that immerses you fully into the world, you feel more and more like it is real as you go on which only helps to convey the points the plot is trying to make.

As far as comfortability goes, the game uses a fixed position with no movement at all, it will however require you to grab things far away, crouch and dodge bullets so a medium to large play space is recommended.

The mechanics of the game are easy to pick up, grabbing, throwing, shooting and dodging all come naturally to you and you find yourself getting faster and more accurate as you play. Some moves such as throwing knives or bottles can be tricky to aim, but if you pull it off the satisfaction in gameplay is amazing.

On my rig the game ran 100% perfectly with no slowdown or stuttering, I didn't notice any tearing, lag, or obvious bugs or broken features as I was playing through the whole game, very well executed.

Overall I would recommend this game fully to anyone who has a PC VR system, even if you have played the normal Superhot this game will surprise you and the gameplay feels super immersive.
