Demo version of the game for full price! Very greedy company. And where are my previous reviews of this game? This is a question for the site owners.

Сюжетка покупается отдельно - это что-то новенькое, конечно. Диалоги, кст, говно, да и боевка тоже. Это было бы круто году в 2007, сейчас это не конкурент.

It is a half-game. Loading time are extremely long even if you play only offline. There are no interesting game modes, few characters and the mechanics to unlock the characters are horrible, the game also pushes you to spend money to unlock accessories without respect for those who paid for an incomplete and ugly game.

well, this game certainly has good aspects, like graphics, characters and mechanics.
but unfortunately, it does not fulfill its functions as a good fighting game. even SF III is better.

Finally rating this game, as I just got back to playing it (2019). When it released in 2016 it was pretty poor with little to no content for casual players, like myself.
However, getting back on it in 2019 has been a chore in itself! I found that there have been many changes and a more complicated (but at least finished) system.

However, getting back on it in 2019 has been a chore in itself! I found that there have been many changes and a more complicated (but at least finished) system.
The next frustration I experienced is the fact that everything is behind a paywall or DLC content. The very few characters that SFV released with was laughable and one of my favourite characters was not even in the roster! Now the character has been included in the season pass 3, which is an expensive DLC. Additional stages are also behind a paywall, the original costumes of characters are behind a paywall...everything is behind a paywall. I wouldn't be so frustrated with this if I didn't pay FULL TRIPLE A price for the game when it first released! As I didn't expect this kind of trickle-model for content release.

Finally the good of this game. After so many years it's actually worth playing! It has a story mode, finally. The story mode is okay, it could have been made longer and more interesting, maybe like Mortal Kombat's long and elaborate single player story campaign? Increase in game modes is also welcome. All the new online and multiplayer aspects are welcome but not too thrilling, for myself at least.

Overall, it's not the breakthrough or most amazing Street Fighter ever, like SF4 was. But it's alright and it's finally worth buying and playing. The base game is less than half the price of the launch price. Add all the season passes and it becomes a bit over priced, but almost, ALMOST, acceptable. Still don't agree with all the expensive add-on stages and costumes being so ridiculously expensive, since it's not a free game, nor a cheap one either!

Hence, my score reflects not the overall fun or mechanics of the game, which are still very solid and very street fighter! But rather it reflects the crap and shady paywall content and continuous money grab very apparent in this game. In essence you need to be a hardcore player to truly enjoy this game and perhaps earn some of the DLC content and actually care about it to stay invested long term.

The game is fun, but the issue is the monetization. If you thought microtransactions are bad, this game now has in-game ads. This needs to be stopped before everyone else in the industry catches on and blows it out of proportion.

Five reasons for street fighters 5 bad review.
    1.Censored the game.
2.The game is now meant for casual players.
    3.Lack of characters and levels.
4.Error codes up the wazoo playing online.
5.Theirs something extremely unpolished about it, like it wasn't finished.

I'm only scoring it higher than zero because of mods support, which makes the game interesting while we wait for Capcoms turn.
Alas, the very fact I had to play this on PC is a good reason for not getting my mouse near the green bar: how do you make a Street Fighter console X or Y exclusive? Damn you, Capcom!

This game is awesome. Easy to get matches. Satisfying combos and specials. And it is beautiful. A lot of people are complaining about the DLC, but I'd rather spend $20 a year for incremental updates via season pass than spend $60 on a new game every year. Shame that reviews almost lead me to avoid this game.

Short story modes with only one or two fighting segments which all were boring
16 characters which Lacked fan favorites like they returned Birdie, Mika, and Karin and Nash from Alpha and new ones like Necalli and Laura.
Barebones offline mode with no Arcade mode,
    No Player vs CPU,
    No Tournament mode
    No Endless Battle
    No Team battle
Bad characters looks like Ken unless you give him a different costume,
    Clipping issues,
and bad online connections (Worst SF with bad Netcodes). Oh and did I forget YOU CAN'T FREAKIN BIND YOUR KEYS ON PC IN 2016-17 ARE YOU FREAKIN SERIOUS CAPCOM NO WONDER YOU'RE CALLED CASHCOM you can Bind Keys in SF4 this is a highway HYPE-ROBBERY of course later on they did add a cinematic story but its cheesy and doesn't stand out. Additional characters like Ibuki (My main from SFIV and Third Strike) Urien, Juri, Akuma,Alex and a new one from Season 2 Krolin. BUUUUUUUTTTT you have to Pay to get all the Characters and Maps 0_0 WUT $4.00 each on PSN but if you want all buy the Season pass for 30$ EACH Season(Year there are 4 seasons) yes Capcom is supporting this game until 2020 to sell it as well as SF4 if you want this game to be good PLZ tell CASHCOM what you want Improved in this game. The game is still Barebones now wait Until 2020 if you are a casual fighting player then you will get everything then. To those who still support this game giving it a 8-10 and GOTY 2016 and say its better than 3 and 4 *SLAP* you should be ashamed of yourself for supporting an boring game.
    Pros:
Fighting is good though not complex as SFIV
At least they tried a cinematic story
    Graphics at times
Rise Up more like Rise up to Cash in a highway robbery

I couldn't get any of my friends to sit and play it more than 2 rounds, and that was a painful slog even. The new characters are fine, probably the only redeeming quality to the game. Launched without any features of a complete game, including an arcade mode in a longtime arcade based fighting game series. Would not recommend to anyone.

Capcom's seasonal release DLC characters/stages/costumes/colours/everything **** else is yet another money grab from publishers to sap as much as they possibly can without any give or support to the player or community (excluding the capcom pro tour).

The game offers the player very little in terms of any solo-play features; favoring multi-player in every possible way, even the character story mode and free DLC story really just accentuates the money grabbing repugnance of DLCs characters and the sheer lack abd idiocy of the base characters by making you play them very briefly in a headbangingly generic story filled with very little.. ANYTHING. The only thing that can making the pain in your forehead worse from bashing your head off the closest thing in sight is the lack of an Arcade Mode. Replaced with the utter atrocity that is Survival Mode - a mode so infuriating and boring that every character you do this with you end up hating more and more after every victory.

Even character exclusion and appeal to an newer community can be excused; however there is no way to justify paying 1/10th of game's value just for one character (without any of the alternative costumes; that if you would like to get, you either are forced to pay for it or forced to grind for hours just to get). Or even 1/3rd of the games base price just for one season's pass, meaning that with the release of every season you will need to buy another season pass topping the value that you are spending on this inadequacy of a game to ridiculous levels (and don't even get me started on alternative colours).

My aspirations for this game were cut short with the release of Season's Two Akuma and changes to Ryu as the multi-player feel that every second player has watched the same tutorial on how to play the game. If the sudden realisation that this is only going to get worse, haven't hit, the sour taste in your mouth after another 6 seasons of spending money on characters just to play a game that should have been available on day one release should.

    TL;DR: G I V E U S O U R F U C K I N G A R C A D E M O D E & S T O P M A K I N G U S P A Y T O P L A Y.

Bom vamos la esse é o meu primeiro Review aqui no Meta.

Estou chegando a quase 100 horas do jogo basta olhar no meu perfil da Steam ( mitogouken )

O jogo é otimo , mecanica limpa e encaixa perfeitamente.

    1 VEZ MERCENARIA , SEMPRE MERCENARIA !

This game was certainly not worth $60 for the state it was in at launch. At the very least be up front and transparent that there is no arcade mode. Jim Sterling coined the term Early AAAccess. Its an apt description for what SSFV contained at launch.

There was no arcade mode (A series staple) at launch. The story mode what little there is consisted of poorly drawn graphic novel like stills that can be completed in a few short minutes. The game also lacks a proper training mode, no vs. AI, among other issues like connectivity. Not to mention that the playable roster of characters at 16 seems a bit anemic compared to rosters of other games of the genre.

There are a number of people who might try to defend this game saying its made for the competitive players. I feel this is an excuse that just doesn't fly. You are paying more for less.

The truth of the matter is that the people who grew up with SSF playing its story mode and arcade are the people who were Capcom's bread and butter. Its those fans who have passionately loved the series for so long that have made it a premier fighting game. There was no online back then. Capcom have slapped the fans of SSF in the face. Its a damned shame too because the game plays well; but its high price for lacking content is too much to ignore.

Server stability seems better now. However Capcom themselves admitted it was rushed. Hopefully they continue to improve on what is there. Hopefully they won't repeat the same mistake they made with the release of this game. Hopefully they realize that the casuals are just as important for the health of a fighting game as the professionals.

(I hadn't played a game in the series other than 2 yet.)
and although the game was fun, it was blatantly incomplete. On launch (Not early access.) half the main menu was unavailable because the game wasn't even finished yet, but Capcom was still selling it for a full $60! After two days of ownership, I refunded it, and using the money on steam, I bought ultra street fighter 4, and shogun total war 2.(Both great games btw). I ultimately found myself loving street fighter 4.The gameplay managed to be easy to learn but hard to master, and it had a wide variety of unique, and likable characters. Some time later, when street fighter 5 was on sale I decided to give it another shot.I didn't go into much detail on what was so "incomplete" about the game before, so here's a general list. The character roster was painfully small, with only sixteen characters, this may not seem bad, but ultra street fighter 4 had over thirty, so this was a bit of a disappointment.
Not to mention only half of them in 5 were the more popular characters in the franchise, so some fan favorites were left out, like Guile.Over time, this game has expanded on that roster, but Ill talk about that later. There was no arcade mode, which has been a series staple since the first installment.
in verses mode, there was no way fight an AI.And this game clearly has no idea what a PC is.Street fighter 4 was a surprisingly high quality port, it was still best played with a controller, but It put in the effort to assimilate.there were a satisfactory amount of resolutions, and the game even had a benchmark tool to test how good your computer was for the game.Street fighter 5 on the other hand is clueless, you are immediately greeted with a message at the start of the game, to close it, you don't push enter or space or something understandable like that, No, you push b,B! And finally, the game was just Ugly, the color pallet is blindingly bright, making everything look like its made of plastic, and some of the 3-D models are so oddly shaped it's ridiculous, (Ken in particular).
So, when I bought this game again I hoped at least some of these problems had been fixed, and although the character roster has grown to be roughly half the size of its predecessor, many of the other problems remain, I still can't find a way to fight an AI, arcade mode is still largely absent, and now some of the new characters which were left out (guile in particular) not only still look ugly in this art style, but have been redesigned to look even worse. As for the gameplay itself, well it's adequate.street fighter 4 had two bars to watch other than health, The super bar, which is charged upon taking or dealing damage, and you can use some of to enhance an attack, or charge to full capacity for one really big attack. and the ultra bar, which only charged when you take damage, when it fills, you can use a 1 of 2cinematic special move to level the playing field with your opponent. In street fighter 5, the super is still present, but with a smaller capacity, and the ultra has been swapped out for the V-gauge.essentially, each character has one special attack which charges the V-gauge when when it lands. When full, it activates a unique buff for each character. It's kind of fun to use, but it sacrifices you ultra. Now, instead of having 3 big special attacks, each character only has one. other than that, the combat is similar to before, only difference being an emphasis on counters, which can now result in either blowing you opponent away, or stunning them temporarily. It's still fun, but the lack of characters, and no way to fight AI in Vs bogs it down. Not to mention that this game has a heavy focus on online play, so character customization seems like a high priority. Yet, the only way to even get alternate colors for characters is to either win a few in the survival mode, or pay using either A, in game currency which is only awarded after winning online or completing a challenge, or B, Real money. you get 50 in game credits for beating someone on your level online, and stages and skins cost like 50000 each! you also use this method of payment for the characters which came after the games launch, so many of the fan favorites which were left out need micro transactions, or constant pay to collect. Finally, there is the games main story mode.
This didn't come with the game at launch either, but it's free, It's fun, and the characters are interesting. But it only lasts like 4 hours, and it goes a very different direction than you would expect.Instead of focusing on Necalli, the villain who was hyped up for this game, it focuses on other things, where Necalli is barley developed and not even the main focus. If you like the series you'll like this, but not as much

Although this game may not have as many features or characters as Ultra Street Street fighter 4's roster. The game has been said to be be supported for the next 5-10 years minimum. Which means like Street Fighter 4 that the game will continue to grow. However without needing to purchase a updated version.

Street fighter has taken a new route and decided that all purchasable content can be purchased with in game credits (Fight Money), which shows that Capcom listens to their users. They also made sure that this Fight Money can can be earned easily and doesn't require months of grinding like some MMORPGs might have you do. They did this to give that option over micro transactions which some gamers tend to dislike.

Overall this game is fun and balanced with a competitive scene which wouldn't die anytime soon. This game will continually be supported and buying this game early was kinda an investment to be able to stack up on Fight Money which can be used on Stages, Characters, colours etc. The game is fun overall and has a large online userbase. The netcode is smooth and there isnt much to complain about what is actually there.

For example Ryu v-skill is a parry which also him to negate damage when timed properly against the opponent's attack. The v-gauge system is interesting. It is a resource in the game that lets the player have more offensive and defensive options. They can use it to spend one bar for a v-reversal which is comparable to an alpha counter. They can also use the full v-gauge for a v-trigger. This can give players unique properties, mix-ups, and the ability to extend some combos.

The PC version runs great since it was made with UE. The visuals and animations are nicely detailed. This game has some nice music tracks. Some are great remixes of classic themes and some are brand new.

It was planned that this game is the only version of the game to buy and that they would support it with future DLCs but that might change because people are hating on the game. More characters will be released. They also have said you can earn some of the content for free.

There might not be much for casual content but I don't really care about those aspects of the game. There are still pictures and voice acting for the current story mode for them. There is also survival mode where people can earn colors fighting the AI. They will have to wait for the full cinematic story later and maybe then it will be worth it for some.

There are less option selects in this game when compared to sf4 making the game more honest and not cheap. You also can't cheat 1 frame inputs like in sf4 with plinks so they made the idea of having 3 frame buffer window for 1 frame links in this game instead. The game is currently well balanced when compared to many other games.

Online play will never replace offline play unless everyone has crazy internet and stop using wifi.

Gaming these days is sort of sad. Scrubs will never understand fighting games even if you try to appeal to them. It is sad to see pro reviewers are never consistent on how they judge games. If people want to judge how a game has content or if a game is fun then so be it. I had a lot of fun with this game and it was worth my money and I can't want for what this game has in store for the future. The game revolves around beating another human opponent and that is all the content I need. Maybe they should have just made an arcade version where only japan would be playing the game and people would still complain. If you don't like the game at its current state then fine you can wait. You can probably find it on sale or something.

SF players are such jerks that I don't feel bad for them getting milked like this, but I'm getting off at this stop. Where's Tekken X Street Fighter? *Sigh*, put on hold. Capcom should outsource/franchise this game out and see if someone else will do a better job, but I guess they'll have to drive the SF brand into the ground first. Have they seen the competition? Other games are indistinguishable from anime and others are very close to live action movies. It's sad, they have such an iconic brand because of the genius of SFII, but instead of making the most of it, they use that to get away with offering as little value as possible. Expand

Street Fighter V is an unfinished, unpolished mess. It has less content than Super Street Fighter 2 - on the Super Nintendo! That's right, a game 22 years older than this crap is not only more packed in content, but has infinitely more charm, depth and has the better gameplay too.

Saying this is barebones is an injustice to that term. Very few characters with no single-player story mode to speak of - oh, and that isn't hyperbole by the way, there IS no single-player here. Oh, they'll say that the ridiculous three fight narrative interspersed with terrible comic strips is a "story", but no, it isn't. This has been rushed out the door so tournament players can give them free advertising with the multiplayer, but even THAT backfired as the servers are absolutely last and it launched with support for only TWO players (and even they won't get into the servers for a match 75% of the time). Oh, did I mention this is effectively an always online game too? Because of course it is.

Not only that, but somehow they made this version worse than the PS4 one! I know, I've played them both - they're both terrible, but this version takes the proverbial piss with how bad a port it is. Get this - NO full key rebinding support. In a supposed tournament fighter. On the PC. Wow. I mean, you can rebind, but it's limited, and it displays it's bad port to the PC proudly by assuming you're rebinding a controller at every turn.

But it's a Street Fighter game, right? So that means loads of colourful characters? No. No, no, no. Sixteen. Yes, sixteen. WTF. Four of which brand new by the way, and dull as hell. But surely they're going to release loads in the coming month, right? Well, if SIX is classed as loads to you, then yeah! So yes, this fighting game in 2016 released with fewer characters than the game made in the same series in 1994.

I don't think I've ever been shocked by a full priced retail release by a AAA company than I have by this. This is not only unfinished; this is a pre-Alpha game. A proof of concept, nothing more. To have the nerve to release this in its' current state is absolutely incredible.

2/10 for what are acceptable graphics (albeit overly big character models on occasion and a 'lively' animation style that makes it confusing to discern what's actually going on at close quarters with some characters) and for the combat being somewhat polished. But that's it.

As bad as Mortal Kombat X was (and yes, that was bad), this is worse, as at least MKX had a semblance of bloody content!

And seriously, those critic reviews. Jesus tapdancing Christ.

Yes, it should not have launched the way it did, a full-priced early-access AAA title. Moreover, I was so excited about the release of the game that I pre-ordered it to get access to the beta. I liked the beta, but I thought there would be several major additions by the time the game released. There were not. I was absolutely furious when the game came out. I tried to return the game through steam but was unable to due to me playing the beta and friends playing the beta. This enraged me even more. I eventually came to the realization that I might as well just play it since I cannot return it.

Finally, I picked a character, tried to learn the character a bit and play online. My heart started pumping with the tension of these matches. I was having a great deal of fun with the new M. Bison – he played totally unlike he did in other iterations of the game. I’m absolutely hooked now.

Here’s the thing I realized: they released the game early because of avid Street Fighter fans and the esports fighting game community. They released the game early just for me (and the rest of the community). So much is incomplete, if you just look at this game compared to Mortal Kombat X, which was released last year. Yet, I have already logged more hours online than I ever did on MKX. The music and character designs are great and while a great deal of things still need to be ironed out, they actually have a really fun game hiding beneath the surface.

Unfortunately for Capcom, any sensible member of the Fighting Game Community could not recommend to someone who is not a member of that community to buy this game yet. It’s simply not complete. The title screen looks like crap and there is no story or arcade mode and the cast right now is quite small. All of the things that appeal to casual fighting game fans are missing, but that simply does not matter for hardcore fans. All we need is training mode and online.

TL;DR – 9.5/10 if you are a member of the Fighting Game Community. 3/10 if you are not. Avoid if you haven’t seriously played another fighting game.

The graphics and sounds are great perhaps this is the best looking Street Fighter game ever made and the play ability is fantastic lots of fun.

    I rate this game:

    Content = 2
    play ability = 8

    Total score= 5

16 character to select is a little too poor but I heard that you can unlock new characters by earning some in game currency( this kind of make the char dlc free of charge) or use real cash.

The online experience is currently "slow" takes ages to find a match(ranked and not) but when you find one is great fun :). I truly hope that Capcom will be adding more option like a "Tournament" mode and improves the overall online experience.

I definitely agree with the other reviews that the game is extremely poor in content but looking at the positive side that this game has to offer the gameplay is definitely a lot of fun and enjoyable.

In this current stage I don't suggest to purchase the game for $60 unless you have faith in Capcom to fix and add content to the game or if you are a big fun of the series.

I personally like the game but the "rush" to release such an incomplete product is not acceptable from a big name like Capcom specially with a game like Street Fighter, it is clear that the game was rushed out( the story mode is showing the storyboard(with very bad choice of the Adobe Photoshop default filters!!) of what we suppose to have an animation of the events).

I suggest people to come back and have a look at the game in 5-6 months time and if the situation is still the same I advise to forget about SFV and look for another fighting game.

They don't care about us customers and were willing to sacrifice their player base to advertise themselves as the premier fighting game. Jim Sterling coined the term Early AAAccess. Its an apt description for what SSFV contains.

There is no arcade mode (A series staple). The story mode what little there is consists of poorly drawn graphic novel like stills that can be completed in a few short minutes.

Not only that Capcom have robbed us but they also have the audacity to pit their blatantly obvious trolls against the rightfully bitter gamers. Since almost everyone objective here has already listed the unforgivable lack of content, I'll focus my review on other aspects of the 'game'. And they are not great either.

Not only that Capcom have robbed us but they also have the audacity to pit their blatantly obvious trolls against the rightfully bitter gamers. Since almost everyone objective here has already listed the unforgivable lack of content, I'll focus my review on other aspects of the 'game'. And they are not great either.

    1) The gameplay: I'll go against most of the opinions and say that it's nothing to write home about. Without an arcade mode or training against the CPU and considering that the online is basically non-existent, how can anyone in the right mind say that the gameplay is excellent, fantastic, superb, etc? Dude, you haven't even been able to play it properly, little less really sink your teeth into it, yet you dare claiming that it's great?! GTFO! The glorified V Skill is in fact nothing but a simplified version of character's special move/unique attack. I assume that it's not called the special move/unique attack just so that the devs could throw more dust in our eyes. V Trigger, on the other hand, is a novelty while Critical Arts are, basically, just a fancier name for plain old Super Combos, Super Arts, Ultras, whatnot... As far as the balance goes, like I said before, right now there's no way for anybody to say with certainty whether SFV is balanced or broken.

    2) Graphics: Personally, I'm disappointed. Some models, like Ryu, are just wonderful! Every wrinkle in the clothing is carefully implemented, the texture is awesome and, what is most important, the model is, more or less, anatomically correct (in a comic book way). However, Ryu came first of the bunch, and it's pretty obvious that a lot more time and enthusiasm were invested in him than the others. Laura, Zangief and Mika are bad examples. A sloppy, almost amateurish rushed out models, atypical for Japanese work ethics. Hell, the internet is full of fan-art SF 3D models which are waaaaay better than those presented to us in SFV. Laura has, like, enormous hands and feet. I figured by now it's something that guys at Capcom get off on, but come on... Zangief's skin is just too plastic and he also suffers from some bad animations (his head doesn't move during his Leaning Twister animation although Capcom were well informed about this glitch before and during beta). And Mika... *sigh* Mika simply overflows with physical anomalies. **** and ass are nice touch, but the rest is just rubbish. Her partner is the most anatomically flawed model in the game. There is also a number of certain inconsistencies with in-game physics. Oh, and Ken's hair looks like a yellow puke. And make no mistake: regardless of how many patches Capcom releases, these won't be addressed. Models are long rigged and there's no turning back. The best we can hope is they do some shader tweaking, but that won't do much good. Also, the menus, in-game texts and life bars seem like a mere placeholders. With all said, it seems incomprehensible for PC requirements to be as ridiculously high as they are. And don't even get me started on pathetic childish scribbles mistaken for story mode 'art'.

    3) Longevity: To tell the truth, I think that the SFV is about to become a fiasco of epic proportions. Not only that the current game is bare bones (lacking spine), but, by the time everything planned for implementation finds its way into the game, the gaming community will have plenty of time to move on to other titles. Also, bearing in mind the controversy surrounding SFV up until now, probability is that mentioned implementations will be rushed out and, therefore, full of issues thus driving consumers further away from SFV. Some argue that the competitive players will prevail, but I find this scenario hard to believe for two reasons: 1) Competitive players and tournament fighters are far to few to sustain the sales of the game. 2) There cannot be any serious competitive play in current condition of the servers, and the history of fighting games teaches us that the crappy online experience can only became a slightly less crappy, but that's about it.

To Capcom - you got what you deserved. It is my opinion that the Street Fighter V is dead before it's even born (its 'birth' being a release of this demo version) and that Capcom should slowly start shifting their focus on Street Fighter 6. After all, even entries in the series were always much more successful ones.

So Street Fighter V is a fighting game and i will rate it like one.

+ best local and online tournaments

    now the negative aspects:
    - long loading times -> they are aware of that
    - they are working on the servers
    - lobby only for 2 -> that will change in march
    - no real story mode -> that will change in march
    - long waiting times for matches -> they are working on the servers
    - some disconnects -> they are working on the servers

Besides these small negative aspects, which are really annoying sometimes, you get the best fighting game. No errors for me (i play it on pc). If you have problems with that, wait until march. If you are no whining kid, who needs attention from his mother, buy it now. There are enough good prices for this game if you buy a steam key.
If you want a nice offline experience, buy it in march, but why offline? I don't understand the people who buy it to play arcade or the story mode, JUST WHY???

Street Fighter 5 – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but buyer beware

    The Upside
After having read lots of "professional" praise and lots of "player" hate, I decided, that the element the press praises is more important to me personally, than the element the players hate on. It's the fun of the “easy to learn, hard to master” gameplay versus the lack of basic and netherrealmy modes and bonus shenanigans. Considering the fact, that MKX online is a catastrophe, and its support has been ceased, SF5 online is a marvel, as it not only works like a charm, but it does so CROSSPLATFORM. Yes, if you wish, you can fight against people on the PS4, which widens the audience and potential competitors quite a lot.

The survivor mode is a string of single round fights and comes with added elements of strategy, due to several bonus options to choose from, if you can pay for them with accumulated points. The fact, that within this mode, the lifebar carries over makes this thing very spicy. It took me a whole weekend to finish this thing on normal, and while you can noob yourself through the easy setting, you really have to learn to play to get to the finish on normal setting.
The added incentive to finish this mode are the bonus colors for your chosen character, as these are unlocked only via this mode - in SF4 you only had to play to unlock these colors, you did not have to achieve anything. Now my ego boosting and vanity is properly displayed, when I play online with a hard earned color palette, that not everyone has yet accessed.

What I also really love is the option to set up your readiness for online ranked an casual matches. If you (as I) don’t like to wait minutes and more for the system to team you up with an opponent, you simply configure your readiness for these matches and go play survivor mode, story mode or training mode, or whatever. Once someone knocks on your door or screen or whatever, your current mode will be interrupted and you will be sent to fight the opponent. Once this interruption match is over, you can choose to return to your previous mode and restart the last battle that got interrupted.
This has its downside, as you are not being asked, if you wish to accept that match… Once I finally achieved the Bison fight in survivor on normal (this was not easy for my noobiness), I had 3 online matches interrupt that one final fight, so I had to restart that FINAL battle four times!!… Twice I had the upper hand and once I was done for, so one interrupt actually saved my hide. The fourth time I got Bison to his knees. So if you are not ready for interruptions in your offline play, just set the options and it will not be a problem.

The other great thing is, you can set your preferences like stage, character, costume and color scheme. Once a match starts, all of this is already set and chosen… gone are the days, were you were ready to kick some, but had to wait for your opponent to choose a character and everything else (and some people tend to draaag this out)… you simply get down and dirty MUCH faster this time around!

So the game plays great, but how does it actually look?
Well, not really next gen, I can tell this much. It has great lightning and great designs which are very plastic, but I had wished for more sharpness. It is a small downside, but I think it is that one thing that holds its graphically back. Do not get me wrong, it is a gorgeous looking game, but the art style is a hit and miss, like with some Telltale games, where Tales of Borderlands for example looked amazing, yet Game of Thrones was less than impressive.

    The downside
Now one thing is to be noted: Maybe the amount of bonus modes as seen in MKX is not really necessary, but a simple VERSUS mode with the option to fight against the CPU should be there. It is like the most basic (I dread to call this a feature, but ohh well…) It is like the most basic feature for any fighting game. But I do not mourn the arcade mode, or tower mode, as the survivor mode is much more fun.

The same can be said about the story mode, which should rather be called the Prelude or Intro mode. In simple words, it is a laughably easy two to three fights interrupted with the usual capcomy cheesiness, but surprisingly ugly presented. You do not get cut scenes with character models, you do not get some great anime shorts… you really get ugly pictures with dialogue. There will be a free story mode some time down the line, but it is not why I PERSONALLY am here.

In the long term a proper content stream might be keeping my attention for far longer, especially that it can be earned or purchased, but some of this stuff should be in game just to avoid the completely unnecessary launch “scandal”.

If you want a great fighter that actually works in online play, is easy to learn, hard to master and DOES look gorgeous this is the game. If you want offline play and proper next gen visuals, maybe try MKX first, and wait for SF5 to get more content and a better purchase price.

Some of them have even rated both PC and PS4 versions XD Its ridiculous. Simply pay no attention to the cry babies.

SF5 is the best SF to date since SF3, perhaps better as it is achieving the impossible with making it more accessible to casual players in the execution of mechanics and as competitive as ever for veterans.

The graphics, amazing. The music is simply superb. You thought SF4 had some nice remakes of those classics? Wait till you hear the theme songs for Ryu, Ken, Nash and Chun Li. Responsiveness, perfect (although a little to accessible for veterans and now Critical Arts come out too easy, over-riding smaller moves in combos now). Combos, there are actually more than SF4 if you take out that FDACblabla idiocy out which made no-one commit to a single move. Speed is also almost identical, keeping to all they learned with SF4 all these last years (watch speed comparison videos if you do not believe me).

Smoothest online play AND launch when compared to other games. It is a cross-platform launch mind you and is in under a week already flying on nitrus. Simply perfect. And Capcom says they will improve it? How? I can't even tell what they are seeing that is how good it is.

Roster is so fresh. Even the classic characters feel fresh, if not in looks (like Zangief, he is really dissapointing they changed nothing on his look) at least on their skill set.

16 characters, yes, 16, so what? You are all going to learn every one of them are you o.O And another 6 coming out. More characters means less balance, about time people got that. This is a great size for a roster. Anyone that complains about it is all about quantity over quality.

Most balanced fighting game I ever touched out of the box. Been playing fighting games for 20 years. I don't think I ever played a single fighting game that was THIS good on its first launch. I am really having a hard time remembering one that came close. Even SF3 had to get 3 versions out to iron out so many problems it had, and lets not get started on SF4.

Multiplayer mode is awesome (lobbies a little small, but they did it on purpose to figure out server loads and increase size over time, so completely cool) and the single player which is about the only thing that is lacking, is actually not lacking that much when compared to SF4. Even incomplete, it is a step up. Story mode is even in its intro version better than any story in any SF game thus far. Individual character stories and all (although easy since they are the first stages).

In place of Arcade (I am guessing for obvious reasons, that being story spoilers) we have a survival mode which lacks in some ways compared to arcade, and makes up in others, being overall just as fun.

Training is there and probably has even more depth than previous training modes.

With the only thing lacking is the complete story and the challenges (and hopefully an arcade mode).

If you are a casual... well you know what? No, even if you are a casual then you should still get this game. The training mode is the perfect place to learn, tutorials and videos are up (even from Capcom) and the game is more accessible than ever. I don't see you casuals whine over LoL and Dota 2 having no single player and no story. This is an online game at its heart, this is a fighting game, not an adventure game.

So get in there and fight. Enjoy your life a little and have some fun already. It has a learning curve, as any respectable game would have, and learning it is rewarding with even more fun.

Late content that is not here is NOT and NEVER was the point to a fighting game especially to a Street Fighter. And regardless, we have some pretty amazing single player coming with the new story mode in a few months.

No, they did not rush it as some are whining and crying. If they had rushed it, the Story Mode would be here. They took their time to get it right. And instead of waiting and missing out on tournaments and what not, they polished the game in time and gave us an early release as opposed to have us STILL waiting thanks to a story mode most people don't even care about.

Relax your horses, it is coming. See this as an early release on the main core of the game. And don't forget, NONE the whining from hater fanboys is excusable. They were warned of major elements to the single player coming soon. See it for what it is, Capcom giving you early access to the game in a complete online marvel of a result. The rest is coming.

Its a fighting game. Casual or not, the whole point to it is and always will be the fighting. You don't like that? Then this isnt for you to begin with, story or not.

Giving this game a 10/10. Shaping up by far to be the best SF on launch. From mechanics to everything.

I have no idea how critics are rating this game so highly. Just because a game series has a big following doesn't mean all the games they release in that series are good. Just because a game series has a big following doesn't mean all the games they release in that series are good. Maybe they are afraid to talk badly about it because the backlash from fanatics or maybe they are afraid to squash a title that is supposed to be the flagship of an entire genre? However this game doesn't deserve a good rating, it doesn't even deserve a mediocre rating. Capcom needs to really hear the complaints and quickly do something about it. It is bad enough that in my opinion they should take a page from Square Enix's book and pull the game and apologize and re-release it only after it is completely overhauled.

I have read reviews from other players who are a lot stronger players than myself really liking the combat structure. It seems strong to me but I have yet to play enough to see if it is that much better than SF IV or not. Outside of the combat mechanics and the slight bump in the visuals the game falls completely flat. If you are on the competitive scene then this game may be good enough for you as is but if you are not then be prepared to tuck this game away until several months from now with hopefully many more updates.

I really enjoy the story mode of most fighting games and the Street fighter games have been good about it in the past. I have enjoyed it enough to watch many of the movies and cartoons to learn more about the characters. I was really hoping that Capcom would start to make a more in-depth story mode that could get deeper into the character and possibly give you different paths to choose with different outcomes and different endings. Well sadly instead of a deeper richer story mode we get the most basic garbage thing that they could slap together. They didn't even bother to animate it, its just a slideshow of stills. There is only 3-4 fights per character and they are so simple its not even fun. None of the stories are even interesting enough to bother with anyway. The voice acting is also really horrible, it sounds like they just took some of their own Capcom staff and told them to read the lines in their silliest voices. To top it all off to actually get any of the bonuses for completing these you have to be logged onto the server which I was constantly being dropped from every minute or two.

As many others have stated it lacks several things like Arcade mode, trials, and difficulty settings. In my opinion it is missing so many things its really an embarrassment to be released like it is. Online battles are extremely basic as well and you can not create multi person rooms or spectate.

Sadly, I have a feeling, this game won't be to a point that I myself would find it fun to play until the release the next pay for release sometime a ways off. Just like SF IV and every other SF game out there Capcom will release 9 million versions and upgrades and charge each time. With how much content this game is lacking I imagine it wouldn't be ready until its been a long enough time that Capcom feels justified in charging you an extra $30 and releasing it as the next version of SF V. Capcom really needs to give at minimum the first version update free to people who have purchased this near launch because what they would be adding wouldn't really be additional content but what should really have been part of the initial release.

I am a very hardcore street fighter fan. I have been playing the series since I was thirteen when the World Warriors first came out for the SNES. I have enjoyed every installment including Street Fighter Alpha. This game is quite a disappointment. Single player is very lacking. Story mode is terrible. One of the worst things about the game is the roster of characters. Its terrible. I guarantee that your favorite fighter other than Ken or Ryu, is not here. It almost looks as if they grabbed the worst characters from the series and put them in here. R. Micha? are you kidding me! she is one of the most forgettable characters from the series. I would rather see Dan. Birdie, another terrible character should have never been in a new Street Fighter game where the slots for characters could have been filled by somebody else. The new fighters are lame as well. While they are based on decent ideas, the execution is awful. Fang looked like a good character until I played him and realized the voice acting and the over cell shading make him a joke. The middle eastern character speaks with a lame American accent. The new female from Brazil (They aren't even worth remembering their names) is not interesting at all, not to mention the size of the cartoon breasts are stupid, even for me (I'm usually a fan). And last but not least, the gameplay does not feel like street fighter not to mention a lot of the characters have been heavily altered. M. Bison doesn't play right, has no flaming torpedo. Vega is completely messed up, has rolling inputs instead of charging. It looks like they tried to get rid of spamming, but they did it in the worst, dumbest way possible. To top it off, you are going to have to shell out lots of cash for extra fighters, which aren't ready yet, and it sounds like its more lame characters such as urein. I'm so disappointed with this game. Street fighter Vs. Tekken was more fun than this. Not worth your time or money. Expand

Yes, the fighing is good but you never actually get into it. And it looks pretty. And that's all for this game.

There's no Arcade mode, and story mode have only 1 round, for a total of 4 fights. I don't get this game, seriously. I think it is meant to be released little by little throught patches, but this doesn't worth $ 60 USD. Not even close. The only reason to buy this is if you

Even so, there's massive problems with frame rate as of today. Capcom sunk the market to the lowest standard yet. It's worse then that Assasins Creed Unity. Or Watchdogs. Or Battlefront. God.

Gameplay is way better than expected and I can see this becoming a great game once it's fully complete. Yes, content lacking as of now, but it won't stop me from playing. Hope to see more characters and game modes soon...

The game was released with lots of problem. But now it's been fixed 90% and getting better. All I can say is, this is the best fighting game ever. Hands Down. I can't believe how Capcom fixed crap Street Fighter 4. But they did. I have no words to describe this game.

It's really dissapointing as a game but I do believe that is even more dissapointing the "expert critics" supporting this scam. You should feel embarrased and ashamed of what you do just because of your paycheck,

In a more recent, better past, since the online mode in video consoles was implemented, we have encountered with games that go on incomplete sale and you have to pay either for new maps, characters, items, dlc, pass seasonal, etc ...

In the end no longer pay 60 ~ 70 €, but you pay double or triple for the same game if you want it all unlocked.

It is a shame to see in which direction moves lately AAA game developers.

Why an arcade game, not including arcade mode?
Players like me who hate online, do we? Enter and play in practice mode?
But wait, for those who do enjoy online, this is unplayable.

So we paid for a game where the online fails
and single player mode does not exist.

And, on the technical side, I find:

    - Missing several super attacks of the characters.
    - A list of 16 players where I miss mythical characters of the saga.
    - Graphically it is on par SFIV. I was surprised too little.

    My rating: 1.

PS: I have disappointed a lot, Capcom.

The fifth installment to Street fighter series is it good ?
The game has nice art, captures that street fighter art, new V meter for special attacks, good and precise combat.
I love Street fighter games since the old classic ones but this one did not impress me at all. I played it for a few hours (on my keyboard because i had controller compatibility issues) and the game had bad traits

One of the biggest problems were the content itself that the game contains. It just feels like the game is rushed to complete it and a lot of things were cut. Multiplayer has more mods than single player even though i could not play it because of server issues.
Character number is small only 16 which is terrible for today game standards.
Story telling is not very important in this kind of games ( at least for me), i mean the story of the game is fine but the cut scenes that are telling it are just bad. Voice acting could be better.
And best for the last (or worst in this case) is the price of the game, very overpriced game.
The game had so much potential only if people worked on it a little bit more.
I was expecting a lot (really lot) more content for that price

While I could not have recommended it to any but the hardcore fighting game community when it released, it’s now complete enough that I don’t have qualms about getting into it now. I’m still having fun with the game, even though most of my time is spent trying to complete survival runs and challenges rather then feed people rating boots online.

There's a lot to love in Street Fighter V, especially Rainbow Mika, but the fact is that the game still isn't where it needs to be yet. The March update helped, but it was just a band aid on some pretty deep lacerations. Serious fighting game fans can hop in now without too many problems, but more casual players might want to wait—more fixes and a real story mode are still coming.

At the moment, with its fantastic gameplay but a serious lack of content, Street Fighter 5 is a solid 7/10; a good game that is a great for fans of the genre but can’t be recommended to all. Hopefully though, in a year’s time when the promised features have been added and the roster of fighters has been increased in number, it’ll be worthy of a 9/10. Until then however, those looking for single player fighting thrills should look elsewhere to get their kicks, whilst those wanting to just play online will definitely enjoy Street Fighter 5, but may find its repetition of stages and fighters slightly irksome.
