  1. For as long as it lasts, Stranglehold delivers a satisfying, if somewhat derivative action game experience.

If you're looking for a quick action fix, and don't mind a shallow story or weak multiplayer, there's several hours of outstanding entertainment here.

It tries to be cinematic with a moving story and it succeeds at that. However, the gameplay itself is really bland. It's more of an interactive movie than a game. The closest equivalent i can think of is Virtua Cop. You enter one area and then enemies pour out and you shoot and shoot until all of them die then you move forward and the same thing repeats until the end of the level. The inspiration behind Max Payne makes a game... and it`s beautiful!
John Woo himself even cameos in the game!
