Sure the graphics are not the best they could be and there's no LAN/Internet play, but that aside it is a fun game to play and it I bought it new for twenty bucks!
-
Computer Games MagazineWith good physics, respectable graphics, an interesting city to explore, and lots of good stuff to shoot, Starsky & Hutch is way better than it should be. [Jan 2004, p.84]
-
This game has decent graphics with fast paced action arcade gameplay that offers a bit of flash and some cool stunt work, but it gets monotonous and runs thin in story and character depth.
-
The gameplay isn't terribly deep, and the story mode isn't very long, but the game is still mildly enjoyable. What Starsky & Hutch does best is pay homage to the wonderful clichés of 1970s cop shows.
-
PC GamerStarsky isn't the grooviest racer around, but the cars handle well and the graphics ain't shabby. [Apr 2004, p.68]
-
Despite the heavy emphasis on replayability, only the most die-hard fans of the original series will be happy to chase the same car over an identical track again and again for the meagre promise of TV stills and rehashed video clips.
-
But after two or three missions, you'll find the range of missions is incredibly small, the gameplay is overly simplistic, and the style of graphics and dialog to be more of an annoyance than a cult bonus. It should have been a coin-op game.
-
AceGamezFor the time being at least, my callous regard of film licenses remains justified. The cheap thrills on offer here are replicated with much more panache in titles such as "GTA: San Andreas" or "Driv3r." Steer clear.
-
Ultimately, Starsky & Hutch simply comes off as a poor man's Vice City. A very poor man living off sub-grade, government cheese.
-
It's one of those games that nobody really asked for, so that leaves only one group of people who will be buying Starsky & Hutch: suckers.
-
TotalGames.netThe linearity of both the mission schedule and chase routes gives the feeling youre just been led by the hand through a series of essentially lame set-pieces.
