    A must have for fans of both versions - movie and the book !! Your soldiers stay with you throughout the campaign, they gain experience/rank and bigger rank meaning better armor. But if you want you can keep the squad as good old mobile infantry from the movie the whole time :) Old but really great. Enough said !     This is an amazing game with OK graphics and a story/plot that can keep you busy with hours of exciting game play.

    This game is GREAT. I played with it for 2 months and I finished it. Any questions to:dukimustdie@freemail.hu The best is the last level. Inside a nest...hundreds of bugs against my 6 elite troopers in 1st class marauder suit armed with plasma cannons...thousands of dead bugs!!

    Dear Captain Planet, i have recently finished the mission titled "Classified". It is true that once you kill the Zombie-troopers, the objective changes. Once you save the scientists, go to the objective on the Tac map in the top right corner. You will find a brain bug and a human that turned into a bug. Once you kill the brain, the human-bug gets away, but you complete the mission.

    This Game Rocks...But It Should Have Multiplayer Mode...And Should Let Us Hve a Ingame Function...It SHould Also Let Us Switch To First Person Shooter Mode...And Wander About In The Vally Forge Or Roger Young...And Fly Dropships...

    Firstly you can now download the game from Underdogs via bitcurrent (220meg!). This version works on XP even though my original doesn't. It missed the movies, etc, so just copied everything from the download into my original folder and overwrote some files. Now I have a working game in XP (except for camera probs). For it's day this was a great game and still stands up pretty well now. The saving of soldiers lives so they get better at their job is a good one. The upgrading of armour reminded me of X-Com, no bad thing. And the squad involvement worked well. Also I think the atmosphere of being on the bug planet was very good in my opinion.… Expand

    The game itself is great, although a bit difficult at parts. The lack of in-game save means your going to play the same mission a few times to complete it. One great thing is the RPG style of leveling your troopers have. Once they get to a certain level, they are able to equip better weapons and power armor. Overall a good game for $20.

    God, this game was a trip! I loved how if you had a bunch of guys, and a bug came anywhere near your guys, a shower of bullets overcomes him... Only problem is, ITS NOT XP COMPATIBLE!! AHHHH!!!

    I rate it a 10 because i used to play this, and i loved it. But that was when i didnt have a 2.4Ghz, 512ddr ram, geforce 4 ti 4200 128mb, IT DOESNT WORK!!!, i am running XP PRO. I tryed with that changing the combatipilty thing that D.House Said, Could someone please send me a patch or anything that will fix this!!!???

    To Starship troopers to work in Windows XP, find the .exe file in my computer, right click it and scroll down to properties. In the propeties menu, find the compabilty tab, turn on combatipilty mode and set it to work with Windows 98. It should run.

    Great game, has a good plot for the story, it even has some missions just like on the movie. great weapons, nuke, missile launcher, and my favorite the gatling gun. Great game, you go to different planets like mars, klendathu, and some others that I forgot, Has a tutorial for beginners I needed that a lot when I first played,bugs acts just like on the movie they scream, moan, they even contact to each other to warn that enemies are coming. Good thing that on this game you actually finish the whole plot story from the movie SST, you kill the queen by placing 6 nova bombs around her body doens't show her exploding but shows her dead when the credits come up, weather details are great raining, night, day, even ashes from an erupting volcano. If you're a SST fan you should definetly get this game. If any of you are wondering when the SST 2 movie will come out I heard it will come out somewhere in 2004 no johnny rico thats the bad thing, oh well have fun with this game.… Expand

    OK some one help me please .. i got windows 98 , GF 4 Ti 420 and i get a error msg whene i go to configure. i slecte the Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 , then i press next then i get a error saying Device Error There Were No Hardware capable device found! Please install your latest drivers! ..

    I loved the game, I loved the idea of deciding who is in your squad, what thier names are, and what they are equiped with, not to mention the promotions and medals... BUT, I bought this game for 40 when it came out, and I'm still on the mission called "Classified" because as soon as I call down my Dropship, it changes my objective to "Save trapped scientists", which I have already I loved the game, I loved the idea of deciding who is in your squad, what thier names are, and what they are equiped with, not to mention the promotions and medals... And the patch didn't fix that... so now I'm stuck with a $40 frisby, and that is what took away from the game in my opinion.… Expand

    I give this game a ten cause watching your troopers go across an alien planet and then a tanker pops out at you. Then you shoot the sucker and it blows up that is the best part. See yall.

    It is a great game, if i only could get it working... it quits to desktop when i try to load a game... the updates does'nt help...

    I just love this game - its only drawback is probably the lack of multiplayer mode. One of the games I often re-play since its first issue in 2000.

    I give a ten because when a plasma bug comes out and you have a nuke you launch the nuke your nuker dies and so does the bug. It looks kool.

    Doesnt work in XP...But if you follow the comment below it works. Just right click on shorcut that launches the game. Go to properties, and click on the compatability tab. Then select windows 98. Its that easy. I didnt download any stuff like they suggest below. Now it works just fine.

    While the prospect of running around, blowing the hell out of space arachnids starts off as a blast, a lack of variety, the fact that you can't save your games mid-mission, and a camera that actually serves as a One Ring-sized gameplay burden ensure that the fun won't last for long.
