Oct 9, 2024Star Trucker is a great addition to the genre, introducing some fresh ideas and gameplay mechanics while taking us on an exciting journey across the universe. Now we just need more of it.
-
Sep 13, 2024Star Trucker is niche, but really good: the longer you spend on the leisurely flight through space and the better you get at managing the energy cells, the more you enjoy the varied systems, the harmonious country music and the chilled gameplay.

Sep 13, 2024Star Trucker is as valuable as any video game that offers something unique and unparalleled. It’s distinctive, bold, well-crafted, and designed with a specific audience in mind. However, if your sole interest is in driving, you might want to consider other options.

Sep 9, 2024Star Trucker surprised me with its blend of truck simulation and its setting in a way I didn’t think was possible. This feels like a game catering to what I enjoy a lot in automobile simulation and exploration games. While it might not be for everyone, I’ve enjoyed playing Star Trucker quite a bit ever since I got review code on Steam Deck. I hope the developers optimize it a bit more for Valve’s handheld though.

Sep 4, 2024The concept of the long-distance space driving simulation Star Trucker works, but it lacks a bit of content for long-term motivation.
-
Sep 9, 2024Star Trucker from developer Monster & Monster and publisher Raw Fury is a solid game and a fun concept. It does enough to keep you in a space truck’s cockpit with its skills tree, challenging hauls, and push to keep exploring space and its vastness. It certainly has some fixable shortcomings but has more positive than negative.
-
Sep 9, 2024As it stands, I thought Star Trucker was a good time. Not an ideal time, and I don’t think it will be everyone’s cup of Space Joe, but I think it does what it sets out to do. The creators had a vision they wanted to achieve, and I think they hit near enough to the mark to call it a success. As long as you know what you’re getting into, it’s a worthwhile experience. It might occasionally grind your gears, but it’s a breath of fresh air with the right filters.
-
Oct 18, 2024You can spend tens of hours in cold space, but you have to be in the mood and have the time. The game is currently brought to its knees by shallowness and game elements that are not perfected.
-
Sep 25, 2024There’s a lot to like in Star Trucker, and it's bursting with potential. It’s also in need of some balance and tweaking. Still, what’s on offer is well worth the asking price, and should keep you trucking for a long while.
-
Sep 3, 2024If you’re hoping Star Trucker will be the kind of game you can play indefinitely, then this isn’t it. It’s fun to play through until you finish the story and unlock all of the different areas, but what it lacks in longevity, the added personality helps make up for. It does a great job of capturing the physics of its setting, almost too well, leading to a steep learning curve, though overcoming it is very satisfying.
-
Sep 3, 2024Star Trucker is either wildly infuriating or incredibly relaxing, depending on how you approach it on a given day.
-
Jan 8, 2025Star Trucker is a heartwarming game. Unfortunately, its brutal rules are stifling, preventing you from enjoying your flights.
-
Sep 11, 2024The routes are short and monotonous, but the handling of the truck conveys, in an atmospheric way, what it must be like to steer a truck through space.
-
Sep 4, 2024Star Trucker shows a lot of promise. Its ease of entry, limited learning curve, and beautiful environments promise many hours of enjoyment. However, this welcome simplicity is also one of its main drawbacks. There's so much more that could have been done to improve the user experience. The biggest problem, however, is the skewed economy. Resources essential for enjoying Star Trucker are too expensive and hard to come by, making it more of a power management simulator than a space truck simulator. Choosing an easier difficulty level may alleviate some of these issues, but it points to an overall imbalance in the game. Nevertheless, given its low price and easy approachability, Star Trucker can be a lot of fun for fans of space and truck simulations, but you may not want to visit this truck stop very often.

Sep 3, 2024A game that's much more about the 'trucker' of it all than the stars, but the trucker of it all really does shine. When you exit the airlock to patch up hull breaches, little white spanner icons mark the offending damage. The symbol that marks the airlock to return to your truck is a home. I noticed it early, and then I kept noticing it. The more I did, the more perfect it felt.
