JasonL.Jan 2, 2002This game is soooooooo slooooooow that it makes whatever fun the game offers null and void. I tried this game of a pentium III 1 ghz and it was like playing on an old 286 pc. The authors of this game should be ashamed of themselves.

HolocatFeb 17, 2003Runs perfectly well on a AMD K6-2 500 Mhz with a 16 MB video card. If you're having problems running this game on a 750+, you system is seriously *screwed*. Solid gaming community behind the SFC series as well.

GamePowerOrion Pirates is still "Starfleet Command II," only this time, for better or worse, it's turned up to 11.
-
There were a thousand things that could have gone wrong, making the gameplay experience a chore, or making it boring, but none of those things went wrong, and the gameplay is exciting and fun.
-
Basically the same graphics engine and gameplay as the original, with some welcome additions like pirate cartels, new ships, and missions that fit requirements of most expansion packs. Unfortunately, it also has long load times and a few bugs.
