Loaded with tons of action and realistic war time simulations, SA2 even with its flaws, gives any RTS fan a realistic taste of war.
-
Tactical combat in World War II with a realistic flair is Squad Assault: the Second Wave’s claim to fame.
-
While we still admire the unique gameplay mechanics of Squad Assault, it certainly feels as though the series, as well as the technology, is being pushed a game too far with Second Wave.
-
PC GamerWorth buying if you missed "West Front," but it's not the sequel fans were hoping for. [Dec 2005, p.85]
-
An evolutionary step. It would be worse to not have a Squad Assault at all, but that being said, Second Wave is still deeply flawed.
-
There isn't much more here than we saw with Squad Assault: The West Front, when it comes right down to it. And with no facelift in the intervening years, it's going to have that much harder of a time appealing to the non-bearded types.
-
PC FormatMediocre "Close Combat" update, two years old already. [Christmas 2005, p.102]
-
I admire the level of customization that Freedom Games put into this title, but it seems that it may have detracted from creating an overall enjoyable experience.
-
New players are likely to feel totally lost in a sea of hostile troops and jittery unresponsive allies who can walk through walls but not fire through hedges. Not a game for the uninitiated.

AceGamezI admire the level of customisation available but it seems that this may have detracted from creating an overall enjoyable experience.
