Even though i never quite managed to complete the Spyro games as a kid back on PS1, they still managed to burn in some of the fondest and nostalgic gaming memories on my brain. With this remake trilogy Toys For Bob really delivered. Even with modern visuals and reworked gameplay, all the original identity is still pretty much there.

Visually the games in the trilogy look quite gorgeous in their stylized, cartoony way, the remake art style fits here quite well. The worlds in the 3 games have been remade with nice attention to detail and for the very most part manage to stay true or atleast close to the original vision, with some new visual layers added on top that fit in organically and enhance the overall experience. Few of the character re-imaginings give me conflicting feelings, but overall the characters, from Spyro himself, to his dragon mates, to fairies, to Hunter, to even baddies, all still look really nice here, and are really well animated. The new voice cast does a solid job across the board. The new remake soundtracks are also worth the praise, though there is also the option to play with the classic soundtracks, which is a neat feature.

I dont have that much to complain about really, except for one thing, which is the dreadful stuttering. It appears when ever you enter a new world or hub and stays there for an annoying amount of time before it goes away. Im not sure what is the cause, my HDD, Unreal Engine's well known streaming issues or lack of optimization on developer end. One more minor complaint that i have is the shadow ghosting, which for example always occurs when you're riding a skateboard.

Reignited trilogy is a great package and will surely deliver you time well spent playing it if you have appreciation for the coolest original PlayStation's mascot, or even if you're new to the series and love 3D platformers, you should seriously connsider giving this one a try, or if you're a gamer parent, get your kids playing it.

Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is another remake for modern consoles of the old little purple dragon form Sony that challenged Banjo Kazooie as collectathon in the 90s.

The graphics are a real improvement and follows the same aesthetics of the Crash remake, making the game feel modern and yet familiar.

The sound is also greatly improved, since modern consoles and PC's can actually reproduce real music this time around.

The voice-acting is still good for what is worth, Spyro has always been a childlike game and nothing changed from there, with spyro being a teen with little patience and a lot of energy, highly relatable.

With that said, the animations form the discoveries as Dragons, Eggs, Orbs are still the same and that is a disappointment. I still remember PS1 Spyro being repetitive in this regard and Actvision made no atempt to change it. 60% of Dragons are old and have amnesia of some sort, and Eggs hatching animations are about 10% of all eggs in the game, so in the beginning you will get tired of seeing the exact same jokes, over and over.

There are no special stages, or time trials, or anything that is new at all, unlike Crash who had a level that was only released in Japan and the extension of timetrials to all 3 games.

That is a bummer since the best game of the series is definetely Spyro 1, Spyro 2 has problems with sidequests and powerups and Spyro 3 has umbearable side characters that you have to play.

They could have improved a lot in the latter games, but nothing was done, just a reskin.

That is to say, is not bad, 3 classic games for the price of one in a fun and not so challenging collectathon.

This trilogy collection is a great way to revisit Spyro in his prime. I only played Ripto's Rage on the playstation years ago, so being able to play the all three game in one is a joy. The remastered version is great, but like all remastered games they come with more bugs and glitches than the originals. Nothing game breaking but just a little annoying like Spyro sliding to random spots after you stopped moving. Movement is even worse for the other characters in Enter the Dragon. Spyro would also temporarily get stuck to the ground and jumping was the only way to get unstuck. On a few occasions the whirlwind elevators would drop Spyro rather than putting him in a glide and could only be fixed by exiting the game and going back into it. Since they were able to be worked around, I didn't mind them to bad. It was really great to revisit these games. Expand

Ein Meisterwerk von einem Remake!! Ich war anfangs skeptisch weil ja oft Remaster und Remakes nicht unbedingt toll sind aber mit der Spyro Trilogie haben sie einfach alles richtig gemacht

Pretty much perfect port, looks amazing, perfect animations, uncapped fps

Got a constant 144 fps at 1440p on all ultra without any drops whatsoever Only issues I have is that the camera is sluggish and is too far zoomed in at most times and some of the controls could be better, but you can fully rebind your keys so can be fixed a bit. Games are way shorter than I remember being

Games are way shorter than I remember being about 6 hours long each (of 3) to 100% but worth it if you really enjoyed the originals on the PS1.
If you are trying this for the first time, I'd wait for a sale

Edit: Forgot to mention if you have more than one monitor you constantly get clicked out of the game which is super annoying

This trilogy is great from start to finish The pc version runs fine with decent graphics settings although there's some frame rate drops here and there but not too much..

It's a fantastic platformer awesome graphics and visuals and great soundtrack and solid gameplay. And I love the voice acting and cutscenes.

This remaster or whatever It's called is brilliant, the most lacking aspect of the game have improved 100% and that is the control I mean sure the buttons are pretty much the same but now you can control the camera with the right analog stick and Spyro turns a lot faster. I know there are people complaining over the redesign of some of the character models but I say the exact opposite they are so much more cuter in the reignited trilogy.

There are some new features that makes the game more accessible for people to play. For example you can move to every level you have already visited directly in the menus and Spark can show you where you have missed treasure.

    Thanks for reading.

Colorful and beautiful graphics, with bright and clear colors. Very good optimization, with the exception of one place where you need to lower the fps from 60 to 30 in order to get through the gate (They didn't fix this bug so far that made me very angry at that moment, by the way). And got stuck in a texture once, which forced me to a level reboot, but otherwise there were no problems.
Very simple plot and humor, but just very cool for children. We ourselves, sometimes, laughed at some simple jokes, although we were not fans of such humor. In general, from all three parts, we enjoyed a lot. I went through all the levels to the maximum percentage, with secrets and achievements, and I highly recommend it for purchase. Even with a full price.
Now, I want to write what I didn’t like about the game and what influenced on my Metacritic rating:
    1) Gamepad. Perhaps due to the fact that I'm a keyboard & mouse player, and I take a gamepad when I play platformers, still I terribly did not like its control in this game. Camera circling - sucks. Racing flight inversion - a horror. Keyboard & mouse are much more convenient and pleasant.
    2) Skill points for opening pictures. I think it's stupid to do 1:1, that only all the points on the page open 1 gallery, and not, for example, a certain number of completed challenges. Because of this, you complete 8 of 10 things, and the 2 remaining - to make a difficult race, without a single mistake, in order to meet an almost unrealistic time for children. And you can forget all completed tests and the gallery, because of these two points. Much better solution was written above.
    3) The inability to skip the final credits in the first game. I see no reason to write why I did not like it.
    4) If only it were possible to write obscenities here. Oh, if only. The camera. THE CAMERA! Which in the 3rd part on bosses is fixed on the boss itself, and you don’t see anything what’s happening in the arena, when and where something falls, until this item is between you and the boss. And on the first boss that needs to be pushed, you must first defeat the twitching camera, and only then push the boss. I really hate the person who came up with the idea that on bosses it would be fun to fix the camera on the boss (It's too stupid even for the realities of the game-pad in the version that came out in the game). I hated bosses in the 3rd game, but I loved the whole games themselves.

For Reingited Spyro 1, I REALLY loved the dragons designs, if I had to nitpick, I wish they allowed the dragons that you rescued a bugger role other than just saying "Thank you for releasing me, Spyro!" Other than that Reignited Spyro 1 is pretty solid.

For Reignited Spyro 2, this one introduced Ripto, and already I prefer him over Gnasty. Out of the 3 games, this one was my least favorite, due to all the backtracking and some of the tedious quests, especially that flying squirrel one.

For Reignited Spyro 3, this one was my favorite! The cutscenes and characters that we're introduced too are just amazing.

If you've never played a Spyro game and you're interested in giving it a try, pick this up when you can, it also goes a sale pretty frequently!

When playing at 30FPS, they are a breeze to beat to the point where you end up lapping the other racers. Another well known glitch the ledge in Alpine Ridge that an enemy continuous moves up and down. When the game is set to 60FPS, the ledge is never lowered. These weird glitches were very very frustrating my first time playing through since I didn't know what was going on but they were easy to fix. Still, if the game wasn't meant to be played at 60FPS, why give us the option...? Not to mention, the game might be aimed at people like me who grew up in the 90s but it's also for little kids too. I'm not sure they'd be patient enough to look up how to fix the problems (or even be aware they /were/ problems and not intentional level design choices), same with their parents.
There were some other problems I encountered like the shooting sequence of Dino Mines glitching out along with one or two of the mini games in Spyro 2 but ultimately the game was very solid and relatively glitchless.

Everything else about this was wonderful. I know it sounds like I just whined a lot but I feel like it's important to point out those problems. To be honest, I think I prefer the originals but that's purely because those are even more nostalgic. If you didn't grow up with those games but still want a 90s platformer with a lot of modern quality of life tweaks and absolutely BEAUTIFUL graphics, then the Reignited Trilogy is just that. I am giving it a 9 but more realistically it's like an 8.5 for me. I feel that 8 is just too low.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is the best way to experience the original Spyro the Dragon trilogy, two decades after the first entry was released. The games on offer were never major classics, of course, and their heavy collect-athon nature won't appeal to everyone. The new, upgraded version is simply beautiful, making the originals look even older than they truly are, so Spyro fans will simply love this… as long as they have the patience to endure 30-second-long loading times (or more).
