SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is an excellent RTS with RPG elements that smoothed out many rough edges of its predecessor. The developers put a great deal of effort into the expansion in order to improve the game in every aspect.

The long, beautifully varied campaign combines party sections and real-time battles to form a complete, complete picture, driven by a really exciting story.

A lengthy campaign, welcome additions and clever improvements make Soul Harvest a noticeably better experience than the bug-ridden Spellforce 3.

Overall production values are great with all dialogue having accompanying voice acting and when talking to NPCs you’re often presented with several dialogue choices - many of which expand the world’s lore and current events. With several quality of life and mechanic upgrades from SpellForce 3, Soul Harvest is an enjoyable experience that scratches both the RPG and RTS itch. A blend that still feels unique to this series, and one that continues to impress all these years later.

SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest is certainly one of the best mixtures of cRPG/RTS currently available on the market, and helps both genres to get back on track after several years of inconsistency.

Building on its predecessor’s mixture of RTS and RPG elements, SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest provides an engaging recipe that we don’t often get nowadays. A stand-alone expansion in the traditional sense, exploring its 20-hour long story campaign means uncovering a plot with significant consequences alongside a handful of charismatic companions. Whether delving into ancient ruins as a party of four or leading armies on the frontlines, Soul Harvest’s unique blend of RTS and RPG is one worth experiencing.
  7. 70
Even with SpellForce 3: Soul Harvest releasing so close to SpellForce 3, it’s worth it. The new storyline alone alongside the well crafted systems for both the RPG explorations and the RTS building of armies makes for a good time for both new and old fans alike.

It's pure awesomeness and worth every penny.
The amount of content devs put into this "expansion" is so big that it could be actually a stand-alone title.
THQ showed its class with Soul Harvest and is a example for the whole industry for how expansions should be made.
They stand in pair with CDP Red when it comes to showing how real standards look like - not this rubbish day-one dlcs etc.
Kudos for you and I'll definitely buy another Spellforce when it's released!
One sad thing which comes to my mind is how the RPS genre is underrated and forgotten...
    Warcraft 3.....nothing else....Spellforce...
It's my no. 1 type of games which I'll always support as much as I can so let's all appreciate what they did with this game!

SpellForce 3 set the record straight by a return to form with packed action and good writing, and Soul Harvest improves on the formula with a larger scope, an amazing amount of content for an expansion, and some of the best writing in the gaming industry. This is a very entertaining game, on its way to be remembered as a classic. Full Review »

The game from what i haveThis expansion is overall better from the original game the developers seems to have learned from their mistakes. The game from what i have played so far seems way more polished and the campaign is way more interesting also the gameplay feels more fluid with a better AI and less annoyances and there are some positive changes that were made based from gamers feedback. If the RTS/RPG genre is your thing you should give this game a try Full Review »
