    Space Colony is a quirky and charming package that packs focus that previous sim games lack. While it’s clearly getting on in age, it’s still a timeless gem in some regards, and easy to recommend to those who have not yet played it.

    Games like this are all about choice. And that’s what Space Colony does brilliantly. There’s so much choice, but it never threatens to overwhelm, it’s all very controlled, and with so much choice, there’s no limit to how often you can replay this game, and how differently you can do things.

    A classic game to the present with a great deal of polish applied. In a way it is surprising just how well the gameplay has held up after twelve years.

    It's nice to get this classic game on Steam, but it clearly shows its age in terms of graphics and, more than anything, limited artificial intelligence.

    Space Colony: Steam Edition is clearly reaching out from a time way back when video game design used to be more forgiving. It's got a lot of flaws, but it also has a ton of personality, and it offers a pretty solid space colony management experience, albeit one a little on the light side.

    Overall it is a good older age space colony management game and you should play it - 7/10

    Game is text-heavy, as you would expect. Yet game doesn't offer any means to increase text size until it becomes readable. That basic failureGame is text-heavy, as you would expect. That basic failure requires so low an intelligence that you would wonder why the game maker even tried to make a strategy game. Anyway, it cannot physically be played, so the intrinsic value of the software is simply zero. Mind you, even the art is too small to be appreciated, with no zoom available. Double zero.
    Funny thing is, the original version was actually playable, back in the days of low resolutions. In other words, we are supposed to pay for downgrades.    … Full Review »
