South Park: Snow Day! sets aside the RPG elements of previous titles, in order to offer a multiplayer action game with pronounced roguelike mechanics, unfortunately quite repetitive in the long run.

Frivolous, farty, and gloriously chaotic but not the best episode of South Park. Snow Day is a mix of ideas all balled up into an action brawler. if you and your friends love South Park then some genuinely inspired moments make this worth taking the time to play.

Blending action, roguelike elements, and online cooperative play, South Park: Snow Day offers frenetic fun, but its lack of narrative depth and gameplay variety leaves it feeling like a missed opportunity to fully capture the essence of the beloved series. While the solid gameplay mechanics provide enjoyable moments, especially in multiplayer, the game ultimately falls short in delivering a truly memorable experience.

For all its shortcomings, it is a fun little multiplayer combat game that's best enjoyed with friends, which is what it set out to be. Just don't expect The Stick of Truth 2.

South Park: Snow Day! bravely departs from the series’ previous installments, offering something new and interesting as well as a continuation of a beloved story for fans. While the plot is interesting and full of that usual South Park charm, fans might not find too much of a reason to engage in the game’s intended replayability, with the game clocking in at a short but satisfying 4-5 hours.

A clever and well-structured interpretation of the classic TV series as a co-op brawler, that would be a fun diversion even without the licence.

A charming but slight co-op action game where a basic combat system is elevated by clever bonuses and abilities, and half the pleasure is the world's incidental details.

South Park: Snow Day by no means lives up to its predecessors. Still, it manages to be worthwhile for those invested in the franchise. After all, it’ll only set you back thirty bucks. Just be aware it’s not a game that will hold your attention for hours on end. Fans of the turn-based combat found in previous titles may find it jarring that Snow Day flips that formula on its head in favor of an action-oriented gameplay loop. It’s also disappointing that said action ends up being as shallow as a kiddie pool. Yet, I still enjoyed my time with these characters, even if it was over in the blink of an eye.

Shuffling the gameplay deck as we've come to know it in the previous two South Park games creates some interesting Roguelite prospects. The fairly poor variety of available content and short story duration, however, make Snow Day! at this stage the poorest member of the "New Kid" trilogy.

I would love to say that I loved South Park: Snow Day. But the shallow combat, light story, and general lack of depth made me feel like this game was just scraping the surface of what it could have been. Grab it on sale to play with buddies, but beyond that, stick with the classics.

South Park: Snow Day! doesn't live up to the franchise's past triumphs in the gaming sphere because it's repetitive, unoriginal and fun only with friends who are fans of the series.

South Park: Snow Day is dumb fun best played with friends. While it walks solidly down the middle of the road in terms of it being a roguelite and a beat-em-up mashup, it falls short in offering deep variance and complexity to make things feel fresh and worth the replay. It’s funny as hell, though, so that is worth the first playthrough. Hopefully additional content is on the way to freshen things up.

South Park: Snow Day! seemed to me like a rather vague attempt to capitalize on the franchise that gave us such good results with previous titles. A game that falls short in many aspects and where the low budget is noticeable. It's fun when you play it with friends, but it's not a game that will go down in history. Considering the franchise it is, something much more ambitious could have been done.

Unfortunately, South Park: Snow Day! is a very shallow multiplayer game, with overly simplistic story and gameplay. The familiar and welcoming vulgar humour of the animation may be here but it can't help to hide a truly mediocre game.

South Park: Snow Day is an authentic adaptation that has a couple of decent ideas, but the drab combat and a short runtime leave it stuck in a snowbank, to be rescued only by the faithful fans of the show.

It will deliver a fun weekend of fart-infused chaos for anyone who misses the days when snowfall meant freedom.

South Park Snow Day could have been one the worst games of this iconic series, but it's not ! If you like the humor and you're cherish all these characters, you could have an enjoyable moment alone, or with friends. Playing this game in co-op eliminates this feeling of artificial difficulty. The experience feels a little bit old, but there are cool elements like playing cards. Give it a shot if you love South Park and don't expect a great game.

South Park Snow Day is an entertaining, if simple, title that entirely focuses on multiplayer. Fans of the show will lap up the humor, but those planning to go in alone will be disappointed.

After the successes of both Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole, South Park: Snow Day! is a big change of pace that left me with mixed feelings. It's an enjoyable game with some nice ideas, but at the same time, you'll be left wondering was this it?

South Park Snow Day makes for chaotic, mindless fun when played with friends thanks to its roguelike-inspired upgrades and sense of humor, but it's a frustrating dud when going it alone.

For me, for a multiplayer game all focused on replaying levels again and again, the very fact that both my teammates and I were already tired at the mere suggestion of playing through all this snow again, meant one thing. I’m afraid I’m going to have sit this blizzard out.

South Park: Snow Day!’s most prominent issue is one of fundamentals. The game’s namesake is very much intact and handled exactly in the way you would hope as a fan of the show, but the meat and potatoes of the actual gameplay leave much to be desired. Its humorous, surprisingly robust roguelike elements and attention paid to its source material simply aren’t enough to offset the detriment its simplistic combat and repetitive structure.

Snow Day is a fun enough co-op action game while it lasts, but its repetitive nature (both in terms of its environments and its low number of stages) means you'll tire of it eventually. Dialogue is typically fantastic and the art style works better than we expected, but its low price is a key indicator of how relatively light it is on content at launch.

The humor and the stylish transition of South Park into the third dimension are two things, most fans will like. Unfortunately behind that, Snow Day isn't a good game. The co-op action is not totally free of fun, but the lack of diverse gameplay and especially the absence of precise controls make it a game, even South Park fans do not need to play.

South Park: Snow Day is just not well put together. Clunky controls, the same under-snowed design and disappointingly little story and dialogue make you want to skip this game.

Is it fun in multiplayer? Not very much. It's also not fun for fans of the series. This game uses the form of a popular world, but does not give satisfaction.

Uninspired and lacking in any real risk-taking, South Park Snow Day is an expensive game riding its license to please fans without really doing anything more.

South Park: Snow Day! is a pale imitation of the series’ previous titles, and falls short of the imagination and hilarity they produced. Whilst it’s certainly fun to run around South Park and interact with your favourite characters, the laughs are few and far between, the gameplay is deeply mediocre and if you were wanting more after the end of The Fractured But Whole, this certainly isn’t up to scratch. But hey, it’s £25. I’ve had worse takeaways that cost more than that.

Yes, Cartman is funny. Kyle is stuck up. Stan is the mediator. And Kenny, is, well, Kenny. You can’t fault the cut scenes which act like clips from the show and are the game’s redeeming feature, but it’s surrounded by recycled and uninspiring gameplay that might have worked on the PlayStation 3, but roguelike battlers, particularly ones involving cards, have come so far. As a South Park fan, I was disappointed. As a roguelike fan, it stung a bit more. The huge potential just falls flat and while it might be redeemed with your mates and a six-pack of beer, it’s unlikely it has legs to keep you returning.

South Park: Snow Day attempts to follow in the footsteps of its successful predecessors by blending the humor and spirit of the show with interactive gameplay. However, it falls short due to repetitive gameplay mechanics, limited exploration, and an underdeveloped progression system. The initial promise of an authentic "South Park" experience quickly gives way to a game that struggles to captivate fans or offer a satisfying adventure.

South Park: Snow Day is a budget game, but instead of something brief but replayable with a lot of South Park humor and bursts of fun, players get something muted, limited, and shallower than even that detail would suggest. It offers some fun across its short runtime, but it's ultimately forgettable for any roguelike or South Park fan.

Snow Day’s moment-to-moment slapstick humor and inventive combat are undermined by unfulfilling progression and an acute lack of content.
