    The lamest remaster ever made. I don't know why SEGA does not care about Sonic like Persona or Yakuza.

    To be honest, I was very disappointed playing Sonic Colors Ultimate, I have some points to talk about. I particularly liked the graphics, but specifically the Sonic model has a pretty unnecessary bloom, it also had some useless additions like this new homing attack mechanic, the spring sound effect on the boost pads and rainbow rings which is pretty annoying and the change in the functionsTo be honest, I was very disappointed playing Sonic Colors Ultimate, I have some points to talk about.     There were people who talked about the game's bugs but that didn't happen to me in the PC version, but this is already more attention from Sega to release more updates to fix the game. Another thing I didn't like was the in-game cutscenes that had no changes, there was no gameplay change, and I didn't like some remixes of acts like Tropical Resort and Sweet Mountain, but the rest of the OST is pretty good.
    At the end of it all, Sonic Colors Ultimate is a not-so-bad and not-so-good remaster, summing up a disappointment.    … Expand

    This game is a piece of **** **** Izuka, for the Sonic Colors Ultimate fans, give my childhood back, i want the DREAMCAST ERA BACK, THE ADVENTURE ERA BACK, AND THE DARK AGE ERA BACK, SONIC 06 IS A MASTERPIECE, GIVE US SHADOW'S ARC BACK, BRING BACK MUILTIPLE CHARECTERS, **** THE META ERA AND **** THE CLASSIC ERA HORES

    One of the worst remasters ever and also the PC version is execlusive to Epic Games. This is one of the worst games i've ever played in 2021

    This remaster very cheap opportunity to cash in on fans. PC port don't have graphic settings, optimization very non cool (Like on PS4 or Xbox), player don't have permission to turn off blur, or change music in settings. You can't select remix or original soundtrack, you can't turn off Tails Saves. Game physics was broken too. In original game on WII, Sonic much faster, and jumping higher.This remaster very cheap opportunity to cash in on fans.     I'd give Og colors a 7/10 so I enjoyed og colors even though it had its problems but this new remaster (more like port) failed to improve anything as it's basically the same old game but with bugs...now I didn't run into any game-breaking bugs but the fact that people have encountered them is disappointing and it makes the game look very incomplete I'd still enjoyed the game but it's a badI'd give Og colors a 7/10 so I enjoyed og colors even though it had its problems but this new remaster (more like port) failed to improve anything as it's basically the same old game but with bugs...now I didn't run into any game-breaking bugs but the fact that people have encountered them is disappointing and it makes the game look very incomplete I'd still enjoyed the game but it's a bad remaster 6/10 decent basically hopefully the patch this game.… Expand

    I'll start with the fact that the original game was bad. A terrible children's story along with boring visps. In Sonic Colors Ultimate, we get degraded graphics, along with broken gameplay. It is also worth noting a bunch of bugs, because of which it is almost impossible to play. As a result, we get one of the worst games about Sonic, which does not deserve attention.

Some mother fuxkers like (gustav2001, JafarYellow, astanmorokhiya, Xinerus, Squieros, Knight678) just coming to Metacritic for giving negative scores.     Before I get into the issue, I want to show you guys my feedback.

    Colours is by far my second favourite Sonic game ever made, the Levels, the difficulty and the music!

    stages have a lot of acts and also a challenge! that's what a Sonic game should be, DIFFICULTIY!

    But now let's get into the problem...

    SEGA for some reason is forcing us to use tails save mode instead giving us the option putting of the original mode with lives

    Why did SEGA release the remaster while there were a lot of issues with the sound and the graphics issue. SEGA is at it again publishing the game with glitches and without letting Blind squirrel having more time fixing the issue

    Why did sega force us to not change the music??? Personally, I am not a huge fan of the remix stages because it ruins the hype already. (except reach for the stars because its **** awesome)

    Can i just say that i hate game company's that forces people to use their prefrence... It just is not a good choice, A player will always need an option if they are not comfy with it

    SEGA next time, let us players have the options to pick instead of you guys forcing us to play with what you are comfy with...

    But overall, I think it's a great remaster, but it wasn't perfect, it would've been a 9 or 10 but a 8 will be perfect, SEGA needs to stop rushing and should care more about Sonic

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For someone who never really got a chance to try Sonic Colors back when I owned a wii, I finally got to play Sonic Colors Ultimate on a modern console. Here's my review:
    Pros:
    - For a story that began the writing of the "meta era" this is so much better than the games we get later on.
    - The graphics in my opinion look very good. It makes Sonic Colors feel more beautiful than the original (from gameplay footage I've seen from the wii)
    - The new homing attack system feels so satisfying. It shows you some skill of how to time your attacks perfectly against enemies which I find very fresh.
    - The wisps were a great addition to Sonic. Even tho I think they have been over used too much later on the series, this was a pretty neat addition.
    - The new Rival Rush is my favorite, it gets pretty challenging especially in Sweet Mountain which got me sweating for awhile.
    - The cosmetics are very cool. I hope they continue to do this for now on. It adds plenty of replayability to the game.

    Cons-
    - As much as I like the story, the dialogue in this game is not even funny. A character stays on the joke too and them explains about the joke which I don't find it amusing. It should have taken some notes from Sonic Unleashed.
    - The bugs in this game are everywhere. Hopefully these glitches will be patched later on.
    - This game relies on the 2D sections a bit too much which makes it boring.
    - The brightness in this game is just too damn bright that I might watch the sun rather than this game.

    Therefore, Sonic Colors Ultimate is an okay game    … Expand

    One of the best remasters of a classic video game. The game's updated visuals and models are top notch, the controls are greatly improved, and the added customization, rival races, and wisp powers are phenomenal. Highly recommended for any fan of platformers.

    Sonic Colours Ultimate suffers the least on PC, a handful of glitches i experienced were frustrating and did halt me from 100%-ing the game, since the patch i have been able to do that and enjoyed the game immensely.

    Sonic Colours Ultimate can run at 144fps and looks great, it is a blast to boost through even when it focuses on blocky 2d platforming a lot of the time. Frame dips were    Sonic Colours Ultimate suffers the least on PC, a handful of glitches i experienced were frustrating and did halt me from 100%-ing the game, since the patch i have been able to do that and enjoyed the game immensely.

    Sonic Colours Ultimate can run at 144fps and looks great, it is a blast to boost through even when it focuses on blocky 2d platforming a lot of the time. Frame dips were non-existant for me although in my 30ish hours of gameplay i experienced 4 crashes, 2 during the egg shuttle mode on planet wisp, which was somewhat frustrating.

    The remaster adds customisation, in game achievements and rival rush mode. Rival rush is limited to 6 levels, 1 per planet, and are a nice challenge to beat metal sonic in a select time frame.
    Customisation for sonic is fantastic, changing his shoes, gloves, aura and boost, it's a lot of fun to find fun outfits and styles for your next bash at one of the 45 levels in the game.
    The achievements are for completionists, a nice addition since epic games doesn't have it's own achievement system. The sneaky gameplay addition here is perfectly timing a homing attack adds boost to sonic's boost metre, which can i say is a fantastic addition, giving more boost than ever before.

    Overall the remaster is definitely warranted, but the glitches on PC hurt those wanting to fully complete the game at this moment. The egg shuttle mode is prone to crashes here and there for some players and that is the only glaring issue at this current patch on PC. This being said the score would be a 9 if this crashing wasnt present so at the moment it is both a huge upgrade and potential downgrade from the original. But for me the difference is the customisation and the homing attack giving boost that gives this remaster the edge over playing the original Wii game at 1080p through dolphin.    … Expand

    this game is really beautiful on pc the framerate is good but the cutscenes are ehh but the gameplay is still good. you are still running at the speed of sound thru levels and youll have a good time

    Imagine the original Sonic Colors with its awful level design and story... except it's as buggy as Sonic '06, with the worst graphical "improvements" that could be made. The cosmetics are trash, the overall presentation seems like it was made by a 5 year old, and the sound mixing is extremely jarring. If you want to play Sonic Colors, emulating it on Dolphin is the much better choice.

    Ahhh...this is bad! DON'T BUY IT. NEVER. This "game' include bugs, crashes and broken saves. The graphics have become WORSE. The sound is disgusting! It's scary to talk about the version on the Nintendo Switch- THERE are graphic artifacts and BROKEN lighting...EVERYWHERE (Also PC)

    Sonic Colors Ultimate is a okay game. I think too, the patches, fixed the game but it could be better at some points. I also really love The Original (Wii Version). I hope if they make one day a Sonic Unleashed Remaster it should be the same game but in 4K and 60fps and extra content. But yeah Sonic Colors Ultimate is a great game

    They seem to have fixed the bugs since none of those mentioned appeared in my game. The rest is just sonic colors with some more things they added. Im also glad I can use the old music in this game.

    To get Sonic Colors: Ultimate’s fun gameplay on PC means putting up with graphics that are, at best, an eyesore. Given that there are plenty of other options for playing the game, it may not be a trade-off you want – or need – to make.

    Sonic Colors: Ultimate remasters the original 2010 release on the Wii, upping the graphics and offering more ways to enjoy the game. Despite some speed bumps, Sonic Colors: Ultimate is a worthwhile revisit to one of the series' greatest adventures, and stands heads and Tails above many other 3D Sonic games. This is Sonic done right, and having it modernized and on PC at last is a treat for fans and newcomers alike.
