Song of Nunu tells a story with fairy-tale tones: monsters, journeys into the unknown, moments of uncertainty and confrontations with the abyss; thanks to the relationship between Nunu and Willump, brought to life by the developers through effective work inside and (above all) outside the movies, the adventure proceeds finding its own lightness even in the darkest moments.

Song of Nunu is a cosy platformer that will delight League of Legends fans, but lacks the substance to resonate with non-fans.

Song of Nunu continues the "A League of Legends Story" series, proving once again the incredible experiences that the rich and deep world created by Riot Games can provide. It's hard not to get the feeling that the game could have been more, especially considering the quality delivered in Convergence and The Mageseeker, two titles that survive on their own merits, without needing League of Legends to exist. Despite some of its flaws, as well as serving as a cute adventure game for the younger set, Nunu and Willump's heart-warming adventure is even capable of melting the icy hearts of League of Legends players.

Song of Nunu has all the elements of a narrative adventure with platforms, exploration, puzzles and combat with which generations of young players can explore both this genre and empathize with the League of Legends characters, but it does so without shining in any of them. they. Perhaps it is the conflict between that name so associated with competition with a story as moving as it is cooperative between its protagonists, which has left me a little colder than I expected.

A solid entry in the Riot Forge universe and yet another example of how many interesting flavors League of Legends and the universe of Runeterra have to offer. If you’re looking for something both lighthearted and heartwarming, Song of Nunu will give you something to keep warm on a winter evening.

Song of Nunuis a charming platforming adventure that highlights the deep connection between a boy and his flurry best friend. But in the end fails to commit to anything substantial gameplay wise, delivering a beautiful but bland experience that left us hoping for more.

Song of Nunu falls short on the quality that Riot Forge has demonstrated over the titles it has made. While it has a touching and heartfelt story, its gameplay feels old, uninspired and boring. The usual cast of side characters gets a smile on the faces of League of Legends fans but as a whole this game is a disappointing step in the opposite direction.

Despite some pretty visuals and endearing character interactions like snowball fights and the little high-five-belly-bounce you do after solving a big puzzle, Song of Nunu ultimately feels quite flat throughout. Compared to the other League of Legends Stories we’ve had recently, it definitely feels much more generic and a little too by-the-numbers. Younger gamers and die-hard fans will find a lot here that appeals, but for anyone else there’s little to get excited about.

Ultimately, Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is a mediocre spin-off. While the relationship between Nunu and Willump can be charming, the game’s succession of gentle puzzles feels too ordinary and sporadically glitches. The main thing this road trip offers is a sweet bond between boy and yeti.

Song of Nunu offers a rich narrative with plenty of heart and does an excellent job of synthesizing its characters in an authentic way. However, bland gameplay and performance issues work as a foil to Tango’s excellent storytelling, marring the overall experience.

It's simple to pick up and understand, has interesting mechanics and systems, and a vibrant and colourful world. Just don't expect to be blown away by what Tequila Works has built here, because it's, all in all, a very predictable and familiar title buffed with a League of Legends polish.

Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story is a cute adventure about friendship with some darker details to flesh out its stakes. Its basic platforming is nothing special, but the few smarter puzzles should make players sit up in their seats at least, and they’ll leave the game with a better grasp of the main characters’ world. It probably doesn’t do enough to warrant much attention from non-LoL fans, but it’s a gentle and accessible game which can be completed in one or two sittings, and very few platformers let you hug a yeti.

Song of Nunu is a very pleasant surprise. It takes advantage of the League of Legends license like no other Riot Forge game to date, and inoculates you with the love that Tequila Works puts into their work. It's not a revolutionary game and could have a better finish, but it's as rounded and huggable as Willump. [Recommended]

Ultimately, I found myself charmed by Song of Nunu. I fell in love with the characters in a way that simply wasn’t possible when they were confined to the competitive chambers of League of Legends. Riot Forge has proven to be an excellent way to explore small slices of this growing universe, giving individual champions the attention and love they deserve. Nunu and Willump deserved better than to be just champions in League, the stressful competitive game where people yell at them (well, me). Song of Nunu frees them, and it’s a joy to watch the duo caper across their very own stage.
  3. So yes, Song Of Nunu won't win any prizes for ingenuity or platforming prowess, but it is very handsomely made, and I had a lovely, heartwarming time with it. It certainly feels like a step up from Rime, the game that helped put Tequila Works on the map for these kinds of soulful adventures, even if it doesn't wrench quite so violently at your heartstrings. If nothing else, it will remind you of simpler, perhaps happier days when every third-person adventure game wasn't just another grim Soulslike you had to endure, and that there's still plenty of joy and warmth to be found in a story about a boy looking for his mum with his big yeti dog friend. Whether you like League Of Legends or not, it's another notch we can add to the recent 'good character platformer' list.
