Потрясающая игра. В плане дизайна и графики, звуков, я восхищён. Так же невероятный сюжет с филосовскими взглядами, который даёт задуматься. Красивые виды пейзажей, когда находишься под водой. Awesome game. In terms of design and graphics, sounds, I am delighted. Also an incredible plot with philosophical views that makes you think. Beautiful views of the landscape when you are under water. I played horror a little, but this one really hooked me. Here the emotions of the protagonist are well felt. The developers did a very good job. For me, this game has become a masterpiece. What a pity that there are very few such games.

One of the best horror games I've ever played. The story for me is just really good, on the other hand, gameplay isn't perfect, but I totally don't care since the story is perfect for me.

This game is far beyond a mainstream horror game, and it is not about graphics, gameplay, or well-designed monsters. All of them were good though. Just the story. This clearly one of the best stories I've ever experienced in a video game. Full of philosophical and psychological questions with great storytelling.

more like 8.5. You play for the story. It's really engaging and atmospheric, and disturbing. It sits with you long after you play it, and you replay it just to immerse yourself in the world all over again. You can watch a lets play of it, but it's very different when you play it yourself. Highly recommend buying this game.

SOMA is a fantastic psychological horror that covers topics on existentialism as you traverse the unique underwater labyrinth while trying to hide from the horrors of our own creation. This game will leave you pondering your actions more and make you feel uneasy, using not only the monsters hidden in the various sites but the atmosphere of loneliness and dread.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game itself deserves a 9/10, but the fact that this game is just so criminally underrated is why I'd give it a 10/10. The horror element compared to other Frictional games like, Penumbra: Black Plague and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, it's no where near as scary as those games, especially not Alien: Isolation. But the design of the characters and setting is what really sets this game apart from any other horror game. The game gets progressively more and more insane as you progress through it, and the variety of monsters to match with the environment that you are in is done so well. Even though it isn't the scariest, there isn't anything that they necessarily did wrong. The horror in this game focuses on psychological horror that will stick with you even after you finished the game. Encounters with the monsters always feel tense, even though it never really feels like there is any consequences to getting caught, and in general is really easy to get past. But, ever building you enters, and every task you do gives that sense of dread that there's something there. The other element of psychological horror to this game is the story. The story is the absolute best part of this game, there's a reason why this game comes with a mode that makes the enemies harmless. Every decision you make it this game has no impact on the outcome of the story, but every decision you make has an impact on you as a person. Is it morally right to end the life of something that perceives itself as something that it's not, and let it live eternity in a nightmare? It's hard to explain, but the things that this game makes you do still 3 years after finishing this game still haunts me to this day. The part that really haunts me is transferring your consciousness from one being to another, and you have a 50/50 shot of continuing on to that other being. So, either you get to move on to the other being with your consciousness while another one of you stays behind, or you stay behind while another one of you goes on in that other being. It that begs the question, do you let your other self live and wake up to the nightmare you woke up to originally, or kill them but never let them see what you had to see. Like I said, bad explanation, but when you play it you'll understand why it haunts so many people. Expand

Visuals do not get boring at all as the game moves you through different environments at a great pace each with their own unique threats, atmospheres and puzzles. This may be a bold statement to make but I 100% stand by it; SOMA is the poster child for games that tell incredible, thought provoking stories. Frictional Games has done it again with their amazing creative team. I can't stress enough how this video game has a beautiful written story. It also gives you this questionable yet wonderful feeling on a certain objective, but you'll probably end up going to enjoy it anyway. As long as you don't focus on how the monsters' AI are stupid and clunky, you will be fine playing this.

Another problem for me on is how the game can't seem to tell your current objective is especially when you forgot about it. So you better have to be listen carefully in order to progress. Anyway. so far a masterpiece in writing!

Just one word: "masterpiece". It has one of the best and most compelling stories that ive ever play/watch/read in my life. Pure sci-fi, very emotional. And if you add the moral dilemmas and the moments of really good horror... well, there it is: a masterpiece.

Would you give up your own consciousness for a better life? They say the next life will be better, can you believe it? I mean.. Maybe it doesn't matter if you die while you can think.
Soma is a game that handles psychological horror elements very well and combines it with an excellent story. He brought a different perspective to robots in human appearance. He made us feel pity for robots

The most atmospheric game I have ever been playing. After finishing the game I was sitting for 10 minutes and thinking about life and death, about morality, about humanity. Great story and good gameplay. As for me, this game is better than most AAA titles.

The story is good, though predictable. I felt that the first half of the game served as a lengthy introduction, but after that the game became more interesting and felt more involved. I feel like the story could have had more meat in the beginning, or if it was supposed to be a mystery what happened, it was better at hiding it until later to be a surprise. As is, I felt the first parts of the game was one lengthy part mostly reiterating the same thing.

I also had a love/hate relationship with the protagonist. I wanted to kick him a few times. The personalities of most characters involved were interesting and enjoyable to follow. I especially liked Catherine's mentality. I found Simon got on my nerves with his selfish and tantrum behavior. His emotional outbursts really put me off liking him completely. I would have liked if they put an option to how the protagonist responded to things.

To get the most out of this game, I recommend exploring as much as you can, as the stories of the others, and the details put into their characters is very enjoyable. If you blitz through the game, you will only have the protagonist and a small part of Catherine's story, and you will miss out on what makes this game so well made and fun.

As for the WAU, wow, that is a great idea. I would linger around certain areas to better see the creatures, but that also led to quite a few deaths that could have been avoided. The detail in their creation is quite remarkable.

SOMA is not the horror game I expected out of Frictional, but I don’t care and it doesn’t matter. This is an excellent work of science fiction, not necessarily unique but uniquely told through its skillful use of video game conceits. It’s System Shock 2 for a modern sensibility, BioShock freed of its AAA chains. It’s damn good and, for my money, the most cohesive and ambitious game Frictional’s made so far.

I parted with Soma with the same feeling that came over me while I was watching “Matrix”, “Interstellar” or “Inception”. Once again someone came up with something no one thought of before and took me for an amazing ride into the unknown. [12/2015, p.40]
