Solo offers a mesmerizing world to explore, as well as fun and challenging puzzles to solve while contemplating the importance of love in your life. For anyone who’s experienced the emotional rollercoaster of romance, this game might just offer the comfort you never knew you needed.

By building upon universal human experiences, Team Gotham have created a poignant game which distills romance without being sappy, compassion without ulterior motive and self-reflection without the fear of others’ expectations. Perhaps it’s not the most exciting or enjoyable of games, but I’m sure Solo will find a core audience which will appreciate it for what it does best.

While many will look at Solo and see a gorgeous art style, those who play it will experience an introspective journey about love. Its delivery of core themes can be a little vague at times, but Solo is one of the most charming titles I've played in a long time.

Not every aspect of the game is perfect, but that beautifully mirrors how complex love can be.

Solo manages to transport us into the landscapes of our souls to ask deep questions about love and learn more about ourselves, all the while providing an engaging set of puzzles, if somewhat clunky ones.

With its tagline, Solo promises an experience that is both introspective and puzzle-based, and it lives up to that promise. Its unique presentation of the theme of love is backed by solid, well-designed puzzle gameplay. It's refreshing to play a game that not only makes you contemplate a theme in a way that other games do not, but also does it in a manner that does not neglect the aspects of games that make it a unique medium.

Solo is a unique piece that focuses on the player rather than being a game. It forgets about gamplay and searches deep within the player to know his/her memories. Even though it is not a perfect game, this a journey that nobody should miss.

Solo is an introspective journey that will make you think of your love relationships while you move boxes over and over again along colorful islands. This game is beautiful, mature and with an important message, but it is also easy and less surprising.

Solo is the rare game that is an actual experience, one capable of eliciting a complex emotional response.

Solo is beautiful and charming. An absorbing, peaceful puzzle adventure, hindered a little bit by its pacing, but that feels great to play.

Solo is quiet and playful, with bright colors and a soft art style designed to charm the player into a sense of security so that they’re more willing to divulge their true feelings. It doesn’t offer the deepest or most revelatory personality analysis, but as a tool to make players stop and consider the value they place on romantic relationships in their lives, Solo is a stunning success.

Solo is not without merit. It is an ambitious and charming attempt to take players on a different adventure. The emphasis on emotional exploration just seems to feel slightly blunt.

Solo is a meditative relationship questionnaire under the guise of an aesthetically-simple puzzler. Its desire to play the love doctor lends a unique flavor to its otherwise bland and hodgepodge puzzle gameplay, but it’s not enough to save it from its painful inability to let its hair down and stay awhile.
