Aug 11, 2016Does Back From Hell “redeem” the initial disappointing release? In my eyes, absolutely. Like a medieval sinner turned to a life of holy demon-slaying knighthood, it claws its way back into the light over a pile of steaming gore-matted corpses. And if that’s not metal, I don’t know what is.

Aug 24, 2016Slain is a fun retro platformer with a slick combat system, great visuals, and a killer soundtrack. While its difficulty feels unfair at times and the Castlevania-inspired levels and enemies may be a little too close to the source material for it to feel totally original, it’s still a blast to play.

Sep 8, 2016After a bumpy start, I started to have a lot of fun with Slain. Once you get into a groove, it's hard for anything to stop you. Generous amounts of metal, blood, and headbanging give this game a unique feel, one that is hard to give up. Slain: Back From Hell is well worth a try.

Aug 24, 2016What stands out to me in this case, is that between how terrible the initial release was, and how the folks at Wolf Brew had to literally crawl out of the abyss to turn Slain into a competent title. Slain: Back From Hell is truly metal in very sense of the word.

Aug 28, 2016Slain: Back form Hell is the game that has should been since the beginning. It is a great tribute to the gothic and heavy metal culture, and a very challenging game.

Oct 12, 2016A beautifully difficult heavy metal nod to 80s platforming.
-
Aug 18, 2016Still a mediocre platformer disguised in a shell of awesome art. The difficulty and enemy encounters need to be reworked.
