    At last, Ubisoft see the light!!! NO more Uplay or DRM... Good riddace!!!...... Only annoying thing (nothing can be perfect) is a Facebook gimmick when you start the game for the first time: It opens a browser and ask you to log your Facebook account, and accept a program for Leaderboard and finding friends to play and such. Click the grey 'start Shoot more Robot without it', and the game won't start. So, you have no choices but to accept it and open (or create if you don't have) your Facebook, then start the game at least once, then you can delete this nonsense an turn it off in the game's Options. I found it unacceptable business practice (especially offering a broken button that's supposed to bypass all this process) and punish it with a -2 score....... That put aside, the game is a solid 2D Solo or Coop Scroller with fast gameplay and a 'Borderline' graphic style that is quite welcome. However, controlling your beer and gun lover 'toon' is kind of limited to Up, Down, Left, Right and 2-3 angles between them. I suspect it's more designed with Controllers in mind than a Mouse (-1!...), Definitely a solid game, that don't take itself too seriously, but with enough fun and unlocking (tons) gears (by collecting bolts from dead robots)... You choose the unlocked gears you want to use (2 guns, 3 gears) then you choose the map you want and 1 of 3 difficulty level and hop you fight... You can play the same maps again and again or try a new one you just unlocked, you choice... Also, the game is scallable: the more people plays, the more robots will be spawned...... The basic moves are right, left and jump, but depending of the gear you choose, you can, for example, jump higher, slide or even fly if you wear a jetpack....... I can easily see more DLCs, in the future, offering more gears, maps, etc...... For the price, it's a nice little time killer, to enjoy with or without friends... And again it's, at last, a Ubisoft game that isn't burdened with moronic DRM! Buy this game just to show them they're on the right track... ;-)… Expand

    This title needs to be remembered in gaming history as a perfect example of a 2.5d side-scrolling shooter and remembered a second time as an example on how to modernize that genre. Shoot Many Robots is simply about the endless decimation of mechanical foes, that can come in many shapes and sizes, using a vast variety of weapons and worn equipment. I can go on about how the RPG mechanicsThis title needs to be remembered in gaming history as a perfect example of a 2.5d side-scrolling shooter and remembered a second time as an example on how to modernize that genre. Shoot Many Robots is simply about the endless decimation of mechanical foes, that can come in many shapes and sizes, using a vast variety of weapons and worn equipment. I can go on about how the RPG mechanics were implemented flawlessly into this title, or how their effects made absolute sense to an action shooter, but what really drives the entire experience is the challenging, fast-paced, engrossing combat all for the price of just ten measly US dollars.… Expand

    Co-op Heaven. Super addicting and very customizable. Best of all its cheap.

    Seriously, get the 4 pack and bring some buddies around to play it. If you are not having a lot of fun within 10minutes there could be something wrong with you.

    Smooth 2.5d shoot 'em up action with leveling up and gear finding with a heavy dose of humour thrown in the mix.

    Good game but gamepad not supports. I bought this game but could not play it. I am very saddened. I'll have to buy a version for Xbox 360. 0 of 10.

    Last time I prepurchase anything for PC from Demiurge Studios.

    Awesome game ever Played, level design, weapons are really great and It's actually playable, in co-op with funky customization that was absolutely kick ass..

    Ahh, Shoot Many Robots! How I adore thee! Your title is evocative of all the things that make you, you--shooting, robots, and...many. So. Many. Robots. In all seriousness, I had a blast with SMR. The game pits you against massive waves of mechanized enemies; think Metal Slug, but with more play style variation. What makes it unique is the somewhat slap-dash feeling RPG elements. AfterAhh, Shoot Many Robots! How I adore thee! Your title is evocative of all the things that make you, you--shooting, robots, and...many. So. Many. Robots. In all seriousness, I had a blast with SMR. The game pits you against massive waves of mechanized enemies; think Metal Slug, but with more play style variation. What makes it unique is the somewhat slap-dash feeling RPG elements. After shooting loot crates or destroying certain robots, you are rewarded with either bolts (money) or store coupons that unlock certain weapons. These weapons range from hilariously silly, to viciously destructive, and everything in between. Unfortunately, the coupons are randomized, so you might unlock an expensive gun for a level 40 character while you are in the first few missions, or (as proved to be even more annoying) you might receive a level 10 gun while you are toting things that are at or near top of the line. Also, while I appreciate silly for the sake of silly, I still think that the silly items are typically underpowered. The goal in wearing them is to make your friends crack up (and they will), but improved stat buffs would provide an incentive to keep wearing them. I played the game in two player co-op, so it might not have been as fun as the full four player experience, but I still had a blast in-game. The pattern never changes, and enemy types get fairly repetitive, but you'll find you don't care much...at first. My friend and I beat the game in just under 5 hours on normal mode, and then we thought, "Is that it?" The game responded by saying, "No! Now you can play the same thing over again on hard and insane modes!" So we did, and yes, there are some subtle variations, but the song remained pretty much the same. We packed it in after about 8 hours, somewhat underwhelmed by their "let's-pad-it-out" approach to game longevity. My only other caveat is that the platforming sections are pretty clunky. They are needlessly difficult in places, and they made me wonder, "Why am I not SHOOTING ROBOTS right now?!" Taken for all, it's a pretty flawed game. Taken for what it's really offering you, that doesn't mean you won't have a ton of fun. If you want to blow away hordes of robots for a few hours with friends (why wouldn't you?), you can pick this up and have a blast.… Expand

    Mais qu'est-ce qu'on a là, mon petit bonhomme ? on dirait bien un sale étron indé qui pue de la gueule ! (chef, oui chef !) boulotté par quelques gorets avec quelques bières, des moufles et deux mains gauches ! le tout, voyons voir, en une dizaine de couleurs (peut-être 16 à tout casser) et bien entendu en 2D scrollante !

    Et le titre putain, ils se sont décarcassés dis donc, ces    Mais qu'est-ce qu'on a là, mon petit bonhomme ? on dirait bien un sale étron indé qui pue de la gueule !     Et le titre putain, ils se sont décarcassés dis donc, ces crevards ! "shoot... many.... robots" ! je suis sûr qu'ils ont fait plusieurs réunions de "brain storming" pour dégotter enfin le titre qui tue : "shoot-ma-ny-ro-bots" ça déchire tout, rien à dire !

    Bizzarement, la version PC nous refuse la manette... pour un jeu sorti sur le marché xbouse arcade des indés bouseux ?!... en plus, le A est Q et le Z est W... (du classique, il faut tout refaire soi-même !). Et donc on tire sur des trucs enfin, des cons de robots en buvant des bières pour se soigner (logique...) le tout dans un... comment dirais-je... une sorte d'humour de fond de poubelle qui doit s'auto-gazer de ses flatulences régulièrement. A n'en pas douter.

    C'est pas tout ça mais c'est l'heure d'évacuer le sale étron débile... alors, on tire la chasse bien fort !    … Expand

    Indie games can be great and this game is an example. Consider it's low price-tag this game is amazing. I had more fun with this game then with many of the so called AAA games of late. This game is best when you play it with a friend.

    It's basically just a point and shoot game. You walk in a 2D environment with WASD and aim and shoot with the mouse. Your goal is to reach the end of the level while killing as much robots as possible on the way. The better you do the more stars you get (5 stars are max). Unlocking all the stars can be a nice goal after completing the game.

    There are 3 different difficulties. The 'normal' difficulty is very easy. Hard mode is only challenging in the begin. Insane difficulty is pretty easy in the begin, but it can get really hard to do every level at 5 stars in the end; there are insanely much robots jumping around and they hit hard.

    The only criticism I got for this game is that it had to have a leveling system and unlocks. This makes the game easier over time (giving the illusion of getting better). And I don't think the game needs it. It's fun by it self and has replayability just for unlocking all the starts on all maps.    … Expand

    This would be a fun game if it supported local local co-op mode, also if it had controller support. Yes, it is a PC game, having controller support for Steam's big picture mode would have made this game a must have.

    Great action platformer at the beginning soon becomes stereotype. Fortunately there are many weapons and tools to try so it keeps you bit longer. [May 2012]
