    Great game does get boring after a time but wourth playing. Remember every simulator is supposed to be real so it does take some time to go some where.They really should let you drive around the world like flight simulator.

    Considering the price of Ship Simulator 2006, this product was released when it should have been undergoing further development. This is a simulator in name only as a mysriad of elements necessary to qualify it as a ship sim were left to entice customers to purchase future versions. A major update is in order.     I want to like Ship Sim but this install runs so poorly I can't get through a mission. My system is well above the minimum requirements yet the game engine repeatedly mis-renders the environment. I get ships without hulls, passengers standing on invisible docks, paved oceans, ect. This software should be a free beta test, NOT a $30 retail!

    So BORING! Really not so good environment details, NOTHING TO DO. What you read in description is 100% of the game.. nothing left to discover.. Flight Simulator is more exciting to me

    I agree with the professional reviewers. Looks are great, ship behaviour seems realistic, as far as my limited experience with the Titanic allows :-) Features are few and coarse, the 'virtual cockpit' I am used to in FS2004 is a joke in this game, it needs loads of work. Mooring is far too easy: anywhere within 100 meters of shore allows you to 'throw a rope', etc, I agree with the professional reviewers.     Ship Simulator 2006 doesn't have the feature-set to compete with sims like MSFS and MSTS, but it's a solid start. The developers are already talking about the next instalment and making encouraging noises about wave modelling, long voyages, and multiplayer (not included at present). Unless you've got salt in your blood, I'd recommend sitting on the dock of the bay until SS2007 arrives.

    As an introduction into the world of shipping and sailing it's not a bad effort, but as an in-depth and richly detailed simulator, it's something better left alone until Ship Simulator 2007 comes along and adds the much needed features that are sorely lacking here.
