If technically this is not the best game, but in 2020 this genre of hardcore puzzle detective is dead, unfortunately. So, this game is actually a hidden brilliant today.

  1. The visuals are nice, but the majority of the puzzles are lightweight, and you’ll probably spend more time endlessly searching rooms for inventory objects than you will using your brain.
  2. What it lacks in refinement it makes up for in its enthusiasm for its subject. It's a good length game with lots to do and the puzzles are generally satisfying and befitting Holmes' powers of deduction.

If you like solving mysteries you should really enjoy The Mystery of the Mummy. It blends old-fashioned analytical detective work with state-of-the-art computer-based puzzles while maintaining the atmosphere of a period piece.
