    This game involves more pixel hunting than logical deduction, forcing you to pass up obvious tools to solve problems in favor of obscure or Rube Goldberg solutions. Many of the inventory objects can only be seen by the hotspot indicator, even after turning the monitor brightness up and examining the screen closely. The hotspot indicators are often touchy, imprecise, or just wrong. Few of the puzzles are natural consequences of the plot - in fact, you will spend much of the time looking for a puzzle to solve, rather than pursuing a goal. I found Sherlock's comments to vary from off the wall to annoying - he seems to like to hear himself talk, but seldom provides any information. The background music is okay, but there are only a few short pieces that are repeated incessantly. There are a number of ways to die in the game, and often they are so obscure that you can't tell why you are dead. The 'death' cutscene is canned and doesn't explain anything - we had to 'die' three times before figuring out that we had been bitten by a scorpion! All in all, a very weak game. … Expand

    I will not even mention how frustrating it can be to spend 10 mins searching for a pixel behind something, and that will definitely kill all the momentum of the player.

    Without a doubt, a great disappointment in all its aspects, from the grid he uses to separate his acts, as in his narrative.

    The only credit I can give him would surely be for many the least expected, and it is that the graphics are more than convincing for the time, although, I recognize that sometimes it can fail to try to be too ambitious, I will not judge for brave pioneering titles!    … Expand

    If technically this is not the best game, but in 2020 this genre of hardcore puzzle detective is dead, unfortunately. So, this game is actually a hidden brilliant today.

    The visuals are nice, but the majority of the puzzles are lightweight, and you’ll probably spend more time endlessly searching rooms for inventory objects than you will using your brain.

    What it lacks in refinement it makes up for in its enthusiasm for its subject. It's a good length game with lots to do and the puzzles are generally satisfying and befitting Holmes' powers of deduction.

    If you like solving mysteries you should really enjoy The Mystery of the Mummy. It blends old-fashioned analytical detective work with state-of-the-art computer-based puzzles while maintaining the atmosphere of a period piece.
