    While the new formula of Shadow Warrior 3 offers a few minor positives, they’re far overshadowed by the numerous absences — fewer weapons, simplified combat, a more linear world, a too-brief campaign, and more. It’s a strange and unexpected step backwards for a series that I had previously enjoyed so much. The dialogue might still be filled with Lo Wang’s jokes, but compared to its predecessors, the joke is definitely on Shadow Warrior 3 this time.

    That’s the problem with Shadow Warrior 3. For all it’s hay about subversiveness and whacked out combat, there was never a moment during its campaign where I didn’t know exactly what to do, the basic shape of what was to come, and the exact way I’d solve those problems once I got there. The game has a linear, flat trajectory all the way through – and its inability to truly bring its own world to life is a key failure in what could have been a far more charming, interesting experience.

    Shadow Warrior 3 is a good old-fashioned first person shooter with a great art design and great action moments.

    It feels like Shadow Warrior 3 puts a bigger focus on consistency than complexity. The moment you enter an arena it’s obvious what you can do because the areas all follow the same rules. You can predict where your grappling hook will go, what enemies will appear, and so on. But Shadow Warrior 3 soon stops throwing new challenges your way, and there’s very little to be mastered to sustain your attention till the end. It’s so repetitive that it becomes impossible to avoid confronting its other negative qualities until, as Lo Wang would say, they fill the room like a wet fart.

    Shadow Warrior 3 is an excellent FPS, perfect mix of action and platforming. Environmental kills are fun tu use.     Shadow Wariror 1 and 2 are my favorite shooter, even though they are different I realy liked both of them.     Shadow Warrior 3 is just:

    4-5 hours of gameplay. The 2013 reboot had a way longer and cooler campaign. Melee combat butchered in favor of    Shadow Warrior 3 is just:

    Melee combat butchered in favor of Doom Eternal-esque gameplay.
    Borrowing too much stuff from other games instead of being it's own thing.
    The deadpool-esque humour is just painfully unfunny at this point.
    Original VA fired for social justice points.

    I literally see no reason to play this: you can play better Shadow Warrior games, you can play Doom Eternal...Just skip it honest to god.    … Full Review »
