    Pure gameplay

    Mindblowing gameplay, it reminds me mix of Quake 3 with Super hot. It feels really good, even with lack of story and boss fights. Visualc (8/10) Graphics a bit simple, but music and atmoshpere are great. Ray tracing is working, but why we need it in universe like Trone wuth pure cubs and platforms. Also you don't have any second to check pure graphics because gameplay    Pure gameplay

Also you don't have any second to check pure graphics because gameplay is super fast and I think it's even better, so players will not get epileptic shock.

    Gameplay (10/10) It works magnificent. Arenas - check, Cool and working(!!) mix of doom, super hot, quake and other shooters - check, Modifiers and tools for level designing - check. Just play and feel this.

    Story (3/10) Just pictures between levels. But it's indie game and first game from authors. Also campaign is very short. I don't think you need story here because this gam is all about gameplay and community support. They even add anatgonist as a boss, but it was bad.

    All in all, it's very fun game, you just need to try it. (Noone cares about story in arena shooter)    … Expand

    This game should have been right up my alley. But I hated it.. The combat is flimsy and has no impact. At the same time you can't even tell when you are taking damage until kill Screen. Lazy awkward game. Don't buy just cause you like Max payne or those vr games. This game aux.

    Boring story, don't care. Bad boss, easily cheesable too, who cares.

    Cool music, kickass gameplay and I'd be unbiased but when I'm feeling down I just fire up a firefight, kill a bunch of baddies and I'm back and running. Kind of my medicine. I do agree the game might be repetitive but I don't care about that as long as the game is good. Very underrated, tbh. I'd say it's a 9.5/10    Boring story, don't care.     I do agree the game might be repetitive but I don't care about that as long as the game is good. Very underrated, tbh. I'd say it's a 9.5/10 just because there's not much to it unlike ULTRAKILL or DOOM Eternal, can't quite point my finger at what should be fixed to make it less samey but I keep going back to this game every once in a while. and with more and more updates it gets better and better.
    Rogue Steel is, to be honest, a really good excuse to keep slow-mo'ing and styling on some dumb AI. I just fire up 5 matches of firefight and get the energy I need by just doing some sick slow-mo tricks.    … Expand

    This game makes you feel like an un-stoppable gun-fu god. The game is fast and furious and still allows you pull off beautiful bullet time stunt moments where everything just falls into place and your enemies drop to the floor around you exactly as planned.

    The campaign is well designed and the levels feel varied. Story is minimal but artfully executed. And the destruction in the game is    This game makes you feel like an un-stoppable gun-fu god.     The campaign is well designed and the levels feel varied. Story is minimal but artfully executed. And the destruction in the game is amazing.

    Plenty of replay once campaign is complete with new game+, firefight, mutators, bonus campaigns and missions and community made workshop missions.

    Its like Double Action Boogaloo and SuperHot had a baby. The art style gets tiresome fast and it feels a bit too floaty

    The game is really fun but, it can get repetitive and the story is kinda confusing. But if you're willing to look past these things you'll find a fun, addictive, fast paced, and challenging game.

    Rather fun FPS game once you get a hang of the traversal mechanics. Aiming and parkouring at the same time was rather confusing at time though, particularly in tight areas with lots of turns.

    the game is normal to play under this machine from sonic heroes to play it is generally excellent the shooter is the most ordinary, but time dilation is cool I'll put 7 because of the plot that I could write in 2013 when I was 11

    Heartfelt attempt at making a fun Max Payne x Mirrors Edge style of game and it works brilliantly for my tastes, the low fidelity atmosphere and ambient DnB music make for a very soft and at times emotional experience. The tone of the game is very well put together and does put you into a tranquil sense of flow when you play.

    Feels great to control and the shooting is fairly satisfying,    Heartfelt attempt at making a fun Max Payne x Mirrors Edge style of game and it works brilliantly for my tastes, the low fidelity atmosphere and ambient DnB music make for a very soft and at times emotional experience. The tone of the game is very well put together and does put you into a tranquil sense of flow when you play.

    Feels great to control and the shooting is fairly satisfying, only gripe was no audio/visual apart from a tiny hp bar to notify you of damage taken, restarts are fast however so you can repeat runs of a level in the blink of an eye.

    It is not long but doesn't overstay its welcome as this is clearly an indie game. The variety in the game is a little bit low campaign wise but for the ones who want more there is a whole rougelike mode that you can use to extend the amount of value you get for your money.

    In short play it if you like Max Payne or DnB music, this will not disappoint.    … Expand

    Enemy variety, in the main story at least, is a little meh, its all just guys with guns, with a flamethrower guy thrown in there from time to time, and thus the game at times becomes nothing more than a shooting gallery akin to something like titanfall 2.

    But unlike Titanfall 2, the story mode is very lacklustre, it can be completed in ~3 hour, with a simple and barebones story.

    The Samus-like arm cannon mechanic is interesting, but barely used until the last couple levels, and even then it's only used for its destructive capabilities.

    Overall a really fun game for an evening or 2. 9/10

    The acrobatic shoot-fest known as Severed Steel is, without any exaggeration, tons of fun. Sadly, while it could be one of the genre's classics, it is barebones in terms of content. There simply aren't many things to do here, and there's almost no incentive to go back to it. It needs a better campaign, more varied weaponry, enemies, as well as some extra stuff, be it power-ups, or alternative game modes. Or at least a better price-tag…

    Severed Steel left me conflicted. On the one hand, it’s a pity that a couple of truly brilliant ideas were implemented in a generally unpolished game. On the other hand, despite all its flaws it’s a fun, engaging shooter that kept me in front of the screen for hours. [12/2021, p.39]
