Dec 6, 2023Sea of Stars is an old-school JRPG, cut on modern molds, which because of its dragging and template solutions turns from a fun adventure into a routine work.

Aug 31, 2023Sea of Stars is a charming JRPG made outside of Japan that you have to play. [Recommended]

Aug 28, 2023Sea of Stars aims for, well, the stars, but lands somewhere a bit lower. Its charming world and brilliant combat carry much of the adventure. However, when Sea of Stars wants very much to be a narrative-driven game with a big cast of characters, it’s difficult to overlook the story’s shortcomings.

Aug 29, 2023There's certainly a lot to like about Sea Of Stars, and it does indeed capture those JRPG golden years to an absolute tee. But if you're less beholden to the glory of the genre's past, then you may wish its star burned just a little bit brighter.

Sep 11, 2023If Sea of Stars sounds remotely interesting to you, I can understand how you might be hesitant to fit it in between other RPGs like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield. It is the Year of the Big Game, after all. But unlike those sprawling epics, Sea of Stars offers a more focused experience that’s easy to settle into thanks to its nostalgic RPG trappings. It’s not a classic like Chrono Trigger, but it’s close enough.
