'Satisfactory' is a strange beast. The idea behind it is simple: you are dropped on an alien planet and must then build a factory from scratch. What's the fun in that? We didn't really understand that either, because it's surprisingly similar to work. The game is also not perfect: it has disturbing graphical glitches, the alien fauna and flora get boring quickly, and we also noticed that after a while our PC was toiling as hard as our factory. Still, we have to admit that these minus points cannot spoil the fun: Satisfactory turns out to be a wonderful game that we will be enjoying for a very long time.

Satisfactory is one of the greatest automatization games ever made. It is a remarkably fun and complex experience that gives the sense of a scale that no other game from the genre managed to reproduce. It is brimming with content, looks beautiful and is incredibly addictive.

A game crafted by a team that has built a strong and proactive relationship with its userbase. This connection, among other things, has helped Satisfactory become the amazing game it is today. Now almost bug-free, with stunning graphics and a complete storyline, Coffee Stain’s game lives up to the early access hype and managed to go beyond all expectations.

After five years of refinement, the official release of Satisfactory has earned its place among the best in its genre. It boasts the most impressive visuals for this type of game, and its well-designed milestone system provides players with a steady stream of goals and motivation. The deep, meticulous mechanics constantly push me to optimize the chaotic factories I've painstakingly built.

Finding flaws in Satisfactory is harder than figuring out the correct ratio for material transmutation in its latest tech tier. It's simply addictive, fun, polished, and visually stunning.

Satisfactory’s full release has been long overdue and thankfully it’s well worth the wait. It’s at the tippy top of the automation genre and this is thanks to the hard work Coffee Stain Studios has been implementing over the years, implementing many a quality of life and following player advice. What it’s resulted in is some of the most satisfying automation and resource pipeline mechanics and gameplay I’ve ever experienced in games. It’s as deep as you want it for the hardcore players or as accessible and palatable as you need for the newbies. Additionally, its deliberately bespoke alien world is breathtaking in design and visuals, filled with many bite-sized adventures to be had no matter how few steps you take from your camp. Satisfactory is the final frontier for co-operative crafting and exploration games for me. Give it a chance and it might just be yours too.

Despite its name, Satisfactory is much more than merely adequate – its finely tuned loop of automation and escalating expansion is downright excellent.

Satisfactory brilliantly combines process automation, creative gameplay, and a sci-fi setting. For fans of large-scale projects and production chains, the game offers endless possibilities and rewarding progression, despite a somewhat slow start.

Satisfactory 1.0 is the culmination of years of development, community feedback, and constant polishing. The result is a game that is deep, addictive, and, yes, incredibly satisfying (pardon the pun, but there's no better way to describe it). If you're into building, optimizing, or just creating huge things, then Satisfactory is the game for you. It's the kind of experience that completely absorbs you, challenges you intellectually, and rewards you with the satisfaction of seeing your creations come to life.

It’s surreal to see a game I played in my first year of work at Shacknews finally find its way to that Version 1.0. I couldn’t be happier for Coffee Stain after its lengthy journey, but it helps that this is a really dang good sim, and a true creative sandbox. I think the freeform nature of Satisfactory is both its greatest power and its most intimidating offering, simply because the sheer lack of guidance can leave players directionless and overwhelmed, especially as you wait and stew on it while resources bake in the early game. However, the sheer beauty of Satisfactory as you slowly expand a little base into a highly programmed and automated industrial machine is a neat and rewarding process, and if you have a friend or two to bring along, all the more fun.

Newer, faster machines mean tearing out and rebuilding the current setup, while new resources such as quartz and oil open up a host of options like enhanced computing, different types of fuels and plastics. Transportation items like trucks and trains or eventually the aerial drones allow moving large amounts of resources across the map, and each new upgrade requires rethinking the current setup to see how it can be made better. There's a story with an end-point, although not at all intrusive, but climbing through the tech tiers to complete it can easily take a hundred hours or more. That sounds like a lot, but in a game with the scope and polish of Satisfactory, that can be just the beginning of retooling a planet to be the industrial powerhouse of your dreams.

Visually impressive and motivating factory sandbox for dozens to hundreds of hours, with a shallow story and low replay value.

Coffee Stain Studios has made something special. Satisfactory has the perfect balance of tediousness allowing the game to feel rewarding when creating new factories. However, having only one map with no randomised material spawns will shorten its longevity, (as of now), as there are no plans for a new map or any additional expansions of the current map. This is disappointing to see, as even though there is a lot to explore and thousands of hours that could easily be put into a single save file, players will likely become bored of it over time, and the game will slowly enter a decline in players. If it wasn't for this, I could have comfortably scored the game a 10/10. I must admit that I have put in an embarrassing amount of hours into the game, and will likely continue to do so. I love the experience it offers and highly recommend others to try it out for themselves.

A top-notch industry builder in an open world. Exploration, expansion, optimization and automization keep you motivated right into the top tier technology levels. [Review-in-Progress]

Problems are infrequent in Satisfactory, which makes the red flashing light of an inoperable machine that much worse. Nothing is more important than electricity. Without it, every machine hooked up to my grid will stop working. [Early Access Review - Polygon Recommends]
  3. I love the thrill of threading a conveyor through my domain and hunting down an errant input port, in a weird shark-like sort of way. I love cleaning up a kink that’s been unknowingly bottlenecking me for hours, then watching a dormant part of my factory spring back into life (and I love that I can now place signs as reminders that make those happen slightly less). Most of all I love passing by old projects, grinning at hodge-podge engineering that’s still thrumming away, playing its part in the overall colossus I have somehow crafted. Nothing devours a weekend like Satisfactory, whose demands are so often in that sweet spot where the work is complicated enough to yield capital S Satisfaction without tipping into choredom. No management game has made me feel as powerful, letting me relish in how my labours have sculpted the world on such a scale. And nowhere else, or rarely, have I appreciated such loving attention to detail, be that in the bloops of an unfolding miner or the toot of a departing train.[RPS Bestest Bests]

Satisfactory‘s genius is in making that exploratory anticipation part of its world, and not just its menus.
