This game does a remarkable job of actualizing the events it presents. The graphics are strong, and the lighting effects are dynamic...It just lacks competitive depth.
-
Despite a slick presentation and several clearly enjoyable moments, Salt Lake fails to capture the magnitude of this periodic winter spectacle and is in reality an entertaining yet brief whirl through just a fraction of the events you might expect.
-
While no one is going to sling a gold medal around its box, it's much better than its predecessor in almost every way, which boosts the quality from abysmal to merely okay.
-
Computer Gaming WorldThe grand total of six events feels rather skimpy, and they're very uneven in how well they play. [May 2002, p.90]
-
Suffers from a lack of replay value: Once you get the hang of its flawed controls, it is possible to get a gold medal in each event within an hour or so of play, leaving little reason to ever touch the game again.
-
PC GamerAfter just a half-hour, SLC 2002 will be straight in the trash. It's a mathematical certainty. [May 2002, p.77]

An aggravating, poor, highly unenjoyable game that barely qualifies as rubbish. This stupid, stupid title's sheer lack of everything is plain baffling.
