    Das Spiel macht extrem viel Spaß, das mega schnelle Rennen sit einfach klasse, man kann so viel man will durch die Stadt turnen :)

    I never played the original Saints Row. I started with SR3 and enjoyed that a lot. I went back to play SR2 (with the Gentlemen of the Row mod), and enjoyed that as well. I could see in SR2 where Volition had a lot of GTA influence. In SR3 it seemed like they no longer wanted to be just a GTA-clone, though, and started finding ways to distinguish themselves from GTA.

    Whereas GTA stayed    I never played the original Saints Row. I started with SR3 and enjoyed that a lot. I went back to play SR2 (with the Gentlemen of the Row mod), and enjoyed that as well. I could see in SR2 where Volition had a lot of GTA influence. In SR3 it seemed like they no longer wanted to be just a GTA-clone, though, and started finding ways to distinguish themselves from GTA.

    Whereas GTA stayed on the "realism" route, Volition apparently decided to take the batguano-over-the-top-insane route for SR. SR3 accomplished this by adding an ultra high-tech paramilitary organization with futuristic weapons and vehicles. With SRIV, the link to reality was wholly severed. Instead of zombies and lasers, you get super powers: speed, jumping, and gliding, to name some of the basics.

    One drawback to these super powers is they invalidate/supersede much of the content that the genre was built on. The wide varieties of vehicles and weapons in the game become all but useless. There's no point upgrading your pistol or SMG when you can just super-punch an enemy in the dick to instakill him. Satisfying as it may be, it gets old and tedious fairly quickly.

    Another disappointment with SRIV is that it inherited perhaps too much of SR3. From a story standpoint it's understandable why the same city is reused, but there were practically no improvements to it.

    Like a band that experiments with different genres & sounds from album to album, Volition experimented with adding surrealism to the GTA base formula with each subsequent Saints Row game. It was fun while it lasted. Problem is now: what direction do you take the franchise after Playa/Boss has tasted super powers and killed aliens?    … Expand

    To ile razy uroniłem łzę przy tej grze, to nie zliczę. Wspaniała kontynuacja, w której poczułem się, jakbym mógł wszystko. Fabuła, która jest tylko dodatkiem do tego, co się dzieje wokół niej. Motyw kosmitów dał mi to, czego brakowało do dopełnienia tego całego szaleństwa. Ponad to rozgrywka bardziej dynamiczna, a przeciwnicy bardziej niebezpieczni. Genialna muzyka dająca kozacki klimatTo ile razy uroniłem łzę przy tej grze, to nie zliczę. Wspaniała kontynuacja, w której poczułem się, jakbym mógł wszystko.     My first and probably last Saints Row game. Had some fun at the beginning, say for 6 hours, with a super-powered GTA experience, but then it started to get old. I think they went too far with sexuality, including LGBTQ material that felt almost pornographic. The humor is not really funny for me, it felt more like delirium. Humor is great from time to time, but not all the time. I didMy first and probably last Saints Row game.     I don't know what to say about this game. But Saints Row IV is one of the most craziest, over-the-top, high-defying, grand smashing, and amazing video games I ever played. This is one of my current favorite games on Steam and my most current favorite Saints Row game. I have seen a plumber who can jump high or a hedgehog who goes super fast but I have never seen a street gang leaderI don't know what to say about this game. But Saints Row IV is one of the most craziest, over-the-top, high-defying, grand smashing, and amazing video games I ever played. I have seen a plumber who can jump high or a hedgehog who goes super fast but I have never seen a street gang leader becoming president of the United States of America.

    This game is like Grand Theft Auto added with Prototype, Metal Gear, Streets of Rage, Star Wars, and Star Fox with a sprinkle of Superhero Science Fiction.

    The story may be a little insane but this game has returning characters from the old games of Saints Row 1-3 and turning the usual street gang game into a president fighting aliens to avenge earth.

    The activities are creative and mostly use superpowers. One of my favorite activities is Fight Club also known as the Super Power Fight Club because you can take on multiple waves of enemies with superpowers and take out bosses that are returning characters

    Some costumes in the game maybe have no effects but it's the perfect way to get dressed to kill there are some costumes missing in the inauguration station like the president's suit. But my 2nd favorite is the Nyte Blade outfit because it feels more hack-and-slash-like but a little beat em up

    The combat of using melee attacks is fun and usable when I am strong enough. Powers that makes things unbelievably eye-catching, Weapons and weapon are amazing looking while others are just strangely made.

    And the best part is that all DLC together with the game is super cheap. It's like buying the tastiest cheapest pizza pie with all toppings.

    Треш и угар окончательно выместили из серии все остальное, но, это не мешает ей качественно развлекать потребителя. Хороший юмор, сумасшедший геймплей, приятная внешность. Все что нужно тут имеется.

    Saints Row IV - такая же классная игра как и саинтс ров 3 с кучей разных новых возможностей и механик, но слишком много нужно проходить мини-игр и побочек которые были необязательны в 3 части

    Игрушка конечно не идеальная, так как THQ в своё время обанкротились и некоторые наработки пришлось вырезать, но не смотря на на всё это, выше перечисленные плюсы, в виде ураганного и веселого геймплея, увлекают с головой. Теперь можно и супером побыть, как в сериале the Boys или как я Флэшем.

    Купил игру в прошлом году, в этом дошли руки ее пройти. Я проходил 2ую, 3ю часть и когда их проходил получал такое чувство что я тут босс, во второй это было просто криминальное генгста, но вот третья часть была эталоном того чего хотелость от святых, имидж, бабки, стиль, брутальность. Да игре уж сто лет в обед, но время такое, что играть во что то надо вот и вспоминаешь, что не прошел иКупил игру в прошлом году, в этом дошли руки ее пройти. Нелепый синтез супер силы и мира, мир сделан не под супер силу, очень много не нужных доп миссий, в 3ей они были забавные и тут это просто на тебе тоже самое, но оно будет вонять и разлагаться, взлом магазинов, тупо и просто растяг времени, сюжет нууууу кусок бумаги был, налепили и жуй, но есть там плюсы и посмеятья можно и понастольгировать, но это такие кусочки. Игра не стоит не 100 не, 500 руб. Очень не доволен ей… Expand

    i **** hate deep silver, stop touching saints row and making it a fictional buggy alien mess.
    This game is trying way too hard to be funny, yet it's so scripted and makes me cringe at times. The only thing I like about this game is the cheats and takedowns.

    The graphics are practically the same as in 3. However, the idea of ​​the game is completely different, leaving the GTA style for something with super powers. I particularly liked this game too.

    Bad optimization on PC. The game overall is a 7, but after playing saints row 3, you realize how much of lazy carbon copy this game is. Everything is the absolute same, the only new improvement are the super powers which I found super fun, with those superpowers however, vehicles become obsolete, weapons too actually. In one area of the map every skyscraper is copy pasted, such lazyBad optimization on PC.     It's a very repetitive game with an interesting premise. I just wish the gameplay was as interesting as the story...

    For something that was originally intended as an expansion, Saints Row 4 suprisingly manages to stand on it's own as a main series entry. Going from the already over the top tone of The Third to an alien invasion is certaintly quite a jump in tone, and while it is even more ridiculous compared to SR3, and disappointing that it didnt tone it down and go back to the more grounded tone ofFor something that was originally intended as an expansion, Saints Row 4 suprisingly manages to stand on it's own as a main series entry. Going from the already over the top tone of The Third to an alien invasion is certaintly quite a jump in tone, and while it is even more ridiculous compared to SR3, and disappointing that it didnt tone it down and go back to the more grounded tone of Saints Row 1 and 2, i'd be lying if i said that it wasnt still a decent experience. In my opinion the game is even somewhat of an improvement over SR3 in some areas, but it was kind of exhausting to go back to the same generic Steelport again, albeit with a few alien additions to make it more fun to explore in the simulation.

    At it's core SR4 is the same game as it's predecessor, just with superpowers. They are fun to use and instantly become your preferred way to traverse the simulation, making travel by vehicles virtually irrelevant. However the powers that help you in combat i found less attractive to use, since they can become so OP that they rob the challenge, especially later in the game. One thing that i didnt expect to like was collecting all the clusters that serve as currency to improve your powers, i mean they should be tedious and tiresome to collect, but somehow they're not. There are a lot of new and different weapons with all the DLC included, but majority of them are just skins for the weapon archetypes.

    The story and missions, just like in SR3, are again the overall saving grace of the game. Zinyak is a fun and charming villain, and all the stuff you need to go through to get to him is quite fun. In the midst of it the game's story relies quite a bit on nostalgic trip down the original 2 games, but that was ok by me, since it was fun seeing and interacting with the legacy characters in some capacity. Unfortunately the main story isnt that long and the game takes a very liberal use of side activities in an attempt to lengthen it.    … Expand

    I remember when I bought it in a store on disk, in 2013, this game did not interest me very much. But, now, I remembered about it, and try to go through it again... It's incredible! I've been through a lot of games in my entire gaming life, and no matter how it sounds, I don't regret that I didn't pass it then, because I can enjoy it right now!

And the fact that I looked that up for an 8 year old game and played it for 40 hours straight for the fourth time makes it kind of one of my top five games of the    +10 because every game could be a 10

    Superpowers are really fun. You wreck everyone and everything. On top of that there are also some nice and interesting weapons to use. Atmosphere is really weak. Npc's are copy pasted and like robots and overall city feels dead. It also uses the same map from 3 with not enough change.    It got ridiculous storyline and I love it. Presentation is funny and there are some cool references.

    really fun, whimsical game. the series has only gotten better after they stopped trying to copy GTA and just decided to make a fun game. to a lot of people the fun part of GTA is just wreaking mayhem and being powerful, and that's what this game sets out to do.

    One of the biggest delusion of my video game career. After loving "Saints Row : The Third" I hoped to see another great and humorous gem but instead I had to see a bad copy of "prototype-style" games. Bad shooting (even useless sometimes), boring plot, less humorous than the previous one and technically inferior.

While ridiculously easy even on the hardest difficulty. the writing makes up for the lack of challenging gameplay. Vehicles and weaponsIt feels a lot like a massive DLC update for Saints Row III. You scramble to unlock various superpower through relatively repetitive side-missions in the same city as the prior game(with minor changes). The largest appealing factor is the main story-line. While ridiculously easy even on the hardest difficulty. the writing makes up for the lack of challenging gameplay.     Ever since GTA IV took that series into a more gritty realistic style story the Saints Row series has been there to anchor the over the top side of the spectrum and it has done a great job of it. Saints Row IV finds you kidnapped by aliens and trapped inside of a simulation needing to free your crew and take on the aliens. While inside the simulation you get access to superpowers and basically become Neo. The humour is fantastic and the game does a great job of referencing various movies such as The Matrix and They Live. There are also various scenes that just have a damn near perfect soundtrack choice to take the fun up a notch. For instance I had never had a dogfight in an alien craft before set to “What Is Love” but I have now and it was highly enjoyable. They also do a great job of referencing the various characters and stories of the previous Saints Row games. There is a crazy amount of customization you can do to your character’s body and clothes and to weapons and to vehicles. There are lots of activities you can do as optional side quests but I found I didn’t enjoy many of them. They weren’t bad, I enjoyed ones where you inject viruses or assassinate rogue programs but didn’t enjoy some of the ones that were a timed mission. They also highlighted the lack of side quests for crew members. All of the missions for crew members, aside from a loyalty mission, was just them getting you to do sets of three of the various activities. The game also did a good job poking fun at Mass Effect’s romance options and the suicide mission sequence from Mass Effect 2. The one thing the game lacked was custom music. In GTA IV I could point the game to my music folder and have a custom music station to listen to and Saints Row IV didn’t have that. It did allow me to create a custom mix tape from all of the stations but I still would have preferred my own music. The game had decent graphical detail across the board. At no point was I blown away but at no point was I disappointed. Even for a game from 2013 I can list games that are the same age or older that have better detail but can also list many that have worse. The voice acting was very well done for all involved. I actually ended up preferring the human weapons as I found the alien weapons to feel weak, maybe it was more of an issue of their sound then how much damage they do. They also could overheat where the human weapons couldn’t.

    I played Saints Row IV on Linux. It was a decent port but not without issues. There were minor glitches I observed. My characters coat went through the floor of the car; a few times there would be no lip movement when a character spoke; and the AI movement was bad at times with them getting stuck around cars and obstacles. During play I had one time where the game froze and one time where the game crashed. The performance of the game was very spotty. I have put off playing Saints Row IV over the years as I like to play games maxed out and throughout the years as I upgraded from a R9 270; to a R9 380; to an RX480; to an RX 580 and finally to my 5700 XT I have always had frame rate issues. During that time I have also upgraded my CPU from a FX-8350 to an FX-9590 and finally to my Ryzen 5 2600X. The game spends a lot of the time above 60 FPS but can drop for no reason randomly to as low as 13 FPS and go as high as 130 FPS. There are seven different AA settings; five different AF settings; three different AO settings; and five other graphics options. You can change the difficulty level at any time. You can also save at any time but if you’re on a multi part mission it won’t save the progress and you’ll start from the beginning of that mission. There are 22 save slots you can use. The game also auto saves after missions and other events. Alt-Tab works.

    Overall I had a lot of fun with Saints Row IV which is no surprise as I also had a lot of fun with Saints Row the Third. No other open world series is as goofy or over the top and it never fails to put a smile on my face. If you enjoyed any other Saints Row games I encourage you to try this one. It has some issues but they didn’t impede me from having a good time. I finished the game in 26 hours and 24 minutes on normal difficulty. This was enough time to beat the main story; do all crew quests and loyalty missions; and complete 87% of the game overall. I got the game for free with a graphics card upgrade years ago but it is easily worth the $16.99 CAD it currently retails for and I would pay as much as $30 for it.

    Many crybabies say it's inferior to SR 1 & 2, but it is way better.
    It's our dreamed open world game and it's 10 times better than any GTA.
    They give you hundreds of possibilities to costumize your character and the missions are truly fin to play.

Many enjoyable jokes, conversations, weapons, missions and characters. The only thing I don't like is the graphics and some bugs that are to this day are not fixed.

    Despite being fun and having the same charm as its predecessor, Saints Row IV is simply a fun but forgettable experience that relies too heavily on Saints Row The Third's assets and feels more like a mod/decent expansion than a brand new game. Still a fun game overall just lacking in originality.

    It has some drawbacks. Game is too easy to complete and the addition of super powers, while fun, does not help at all. Even on the hardest difficulty I was able to breeze through the game with no problem. It's also occasionally buggy so be on the lookout for that.

    Besides that, I do recommend this game. And although I still prefer SR 2 as my favorite, SR IV is right behind it for being the best game in the series. Definitely worth playing it when you get the chance.    … Expand

Logics and realism doesn't exist in this game but this is what makes it so great: Its a vacation from GTA to a crazy world where almost everything is possible. The game is very fun and offers a lot of content.

    In the game you control the president of united states. But this guy was previously a gang member with his homies being the staff members. Planet earth gets attacked and destroyed by aliens, people get kidnapped and put into a matrix like pods aboard the alien spaceship and you get put into a computer simulation where you try to defeat the bad alien boss. This gives the ground to you having all of the absurd powers.

    Gameplay actually like GTA on mods. You can jump high, stomp, fly around, throw cars and other heavy objects, run like flash and shoot fire bullets.

    The game is not very unified and feels like a collection of mini games where you get to use your powers one way or another. There are events where you have to scale towers, other places you will race with your super speed. In other instanced you'll do some hacking, throw cars through virtual hoops and so on. On their own the modes are pretty fun to play and there is really a lot of them. If you're not looking for anything serious and just want to enjoy yourself with no thought involved - this might be the right fit. The main story missions make a bit more sense but not that much - just feel like a different mode from the rest.

    The progression and upgrade system does not feel very rewarding - though you are able to update your powers to make them more effective. Guns are strange and most of them are pretty useless. You can drive around in cars but since you're faster on foot it doesn't make any sense to do so aside from the special missions.

    The game graphics are pretty decent although constant night time feels boring after a while.

    In the end it was fun playing. A rather light game but fun nonetheless - surprisingly so to be honest.    … Expand

Saints Row IV takes everything you loved about the series up to this point and injects it with an alien invasion, presidential hijinx, superpowers, combat mechs, hover tanks, bizzarre weapons (including the almighty dubstep gun) a metric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of Matrix, Mass Effect and They Live references, brings back almost every character ever seen in the series, throws a couple new ones in the form of a sexy English operative and a snarky robot orb, and generally just blows what you thought you knew about sandbox crime sims out your ♥♥♥. Everything Grand Theft Auto V got wrong was done right in this game months earlier. The combat is relentless, ridiculous and always entertaining, and all the side content is worked into the ordinary game flow, especially if you're shooting for the best ending. I like to think each Saints Row is the previous one on a whole lot of drugs. If that is true, then hide Saints Row IV from the DEA before you give zombie Ronald Reagan a heart attack. I loved this game so much that it netted me my first and only Platinum Trophy. Take a trip back to the Row and take a whiff of that purple haze once again, you won't regret it.… Expand

    Really boring. Superpowers are cool, but didn't add more depth and lessen the complexity of the game. Just like what others had said, it copied Saints Row 3, added Superpowers, changed the plot with an alien invasion which doesn't interest me. I finished the game just doing the main and loyalty missions. After the ending, I quit right away.

    Superpowers! Why take a car when you can run faster than a car? Is that building in your way? Jump over it. Too tall to jump over it? Not to worry: you can wall-run! Need to take out that group of enemies? Sure, you can use guns; but why not drop into the middle of them and stomp your foot once to send them flying? Much easier! The catch is that the superpowers do make the game generally easy (the Superhero Fight Club activities being the occasionally frustrating exception).

    The story of Saints Row IV is, of course, completely over-the-top. But that's not out of place in a Saints Row game. The Boss is now the President of the United States; Earth has been invaded by the alien Zin, who abduct the Boss and the homies. Much of the game is spent rescuing members of your crew, which requires visiting a simulation of that homie's worst nightmare. There are some fantastic nostalgia trips (you even revisit some of the original Saints Row game) and funny satire (no game or movie is exempt, not even Metal Gear or Mass Effect). Much of it is accompanied by a great selection of songs; shooting up a Genki challenge with a certain character (long thought dead) while “The Boys are Back” plays was hilarious. While not every character from the franchise appears, all the major ones do.

    The downside is that Saints Row IV is, at its heart, a copy-and-paste of Saints Row The Third. Steelport is virtually unchanged; the city map is exactly the same. Activities are exactly the same; Tank Mayhem, for instance, is the same activity with an alien Zin tank instead of an Abrams tank. The planes and aerial vehicles are reskinned SR3 models; they fly and function exactly the same. Hijacking cars is even still a thing; the in-game explanation makes sense, but doesn't hide anything else. With superpowers, cars are a waste anyway. Weapons are unique and fun, and even slightly moddable; but if you've played Red Faction: Armageddon, more than a few will be familiar (Volition developed both games). There's a lot more, but you get the idea.

    If you're looking for a completely new Saints Row game, you won't find it Saints Row IV (outside of the superpower implementation, which is superb). If you're looking for a game that is simply a blast to play – one that will make you laugh far more than it will make you scream in frustration – then absolutely get this one. In a time when all forms of entertainment are getting more serious, the absurdity of Saints Row IV is an absolute breath of fresh air.

    - Diálogos divertidos, misiones alocadas, muchas muy parecidas a lo ya visto en sr3, historia estúpida jaja.

    - Los enemigos son muy poco variados.

    - Los vehiculos se vuelven inútiles, innecesarios ya que correr es muchisimo más veloz para desplazarte.

    - Este sr peca un poco de vivir del pasado, demasiaaadas referencias de cosas que pasaron en los anteriores títulos, un poco pudo ser, pero le metieron mucho del pasado en vez de tratar de apuntar hacia adelante.

    En general el juego me gustó mucho, lo disfruté bastante, a primera respuesta incluso hubiera dicho que es mejor que el 3. Pero reflexionandolo mejor, me quedo con el sr3, lo encontré más variado, más rejugable, y además el hecho de estar metido en una simulación, no se, siento que perdió mucha vida el juego con eso. La ciudad se siente muerta.

    TL;DR? -> SR4 very fun game, but SR3>SR4

    Saints row has always been a badass, funny open world game. This does not follow the trend. It is a copy of the Saints Row 3 graphics and map, just with a much more stupid story. I highly advise you buy SR3, and avoid this disappointment.

Chock full of pop-culture references, jokes, crude humor, parodies of other intellectual properties, and general silliness, this game is a farce wrapped up in a superhero sandbox/sci-fi/GTA theme. The game does not take itself seriously at all, and yet, has remarkably high production values; the characters are    Saint’s Row 4 is a GTA-themed sci-fi superhero sandbox game.

    Yes, really.

    Chock full of pop-culture references, jokes, crude humor, parodies of other intellectual properties, and general silliness, this game is a farce wrapped up in a superhero sandbox/sci-fi/GTA theme. The game does not take itself seriously at all, and yet, has remarkably high production values; the characters are fully voice acted, Keith David is your vice president, and you can eventually recruit Santa and Mrs. Claus as sidekicks.

    The main attraction of this game is its over the top ridiculousness. The game starts out with your character breaking into a nuclear weapons facility to stop an insane general from launching a nuclear weapon and destroying Washington DC, and it only goes downhill from there. The protagonist is a sociopathic street-thug-cum-actor-cum-politician, who puts his ex-street thug friends in charge of the country.

    And that’s just the first chapter. After that, aliens invade, everyone gets abducted and stuck into simulations of their worst nightmares – the protagonist gets stuck in a cheerful 50s-themed world – and eventually the protagonist breaks out, breaks into a GTA-themed simulation, and then frees all his friends from similarly ridiculous nightmare scenarios based on everything from fighting a gigantic can of soda to a 2D-beat-em-up to an old-school wireframe video game world. The protagonist gains superpowers over the course of the game, allowing him to completely turn the GTA-themed sandbox on its head, largely ignoring vehicles in favor of running around with super-speed and super-jumps and super-gliding, running up the sides of buildings and bouncing around the city.

    The actual gameplay itself is often fairly mediocre; it mostly plays like an over-the-shoulder 3rd person shooter. And yet, the sheer ridiculousness of the scenarios, the constant comedic banter between the protagonist, his teammates, and the enemy, and the general lack of the game taking itself seriously somehow combine to make the game a generally enjoyable experience. The game is at its worst when you are slogging your way through waves of rather uninteresting enemies, but fortunately the protagonist is generally so overpowered after a while that apart from a few missions where you have limited weapons, you can pretty much crush them easily. The actual sandbox aspect of the game is fairly weak; there are a bunch of missions which more or less serve as practice for various bits of the game, as well as challenges which push your ability to complete tasks with various superpowers or weapons or vehicles to the limit, but on the whole most of these are fairly inoffensive, and they aren’t repetitive enough to be annoying.

    So, is it good?

    I’d say on the whole that it was an enjoyable experience; while the gameplay may not have been the best, the sheer chutzpah of the game actually made it pretty fun, and you never knew what ridiculous task you’d be up to next. The game does its best to make you feel powerful, and the game is, in the end, a power fantasy, an ego trip, and a comedy all wrapped up into one. It doesn’t take itself seriously, and neither should you, but on the whole, it was well worth it.    … Expand

    This game is one of the few games that kept me playing for hours straight. I think i'm one of the few who barely used guns throughout the game. The melee killmoves looks awesome and badass.

    Is it just me or is the Dubstep Gun the best gun ever?

    Great game. Fun, addictive, lots of content. In my opinion it has too many DLCs bul well, I guess developers will never stop adding tons of DLCs to a game instead of finishing it.

    A super-powered romp through virtual reality. This game takes you through a slew of great set-pieces: motorcycle races, 50s sitcoms, side-scrolling fighters and space battles. The varied gameplay, cheerful parody and viscerally fun combat makes this a joyful experience.

Honestly this could be expansion DLC for Saints Row: The Third. Its only new thing it has going for it is the alien invasion, which could have been easily ported to Saints Row 3 since hell it has the SAME graphics and same area, noCollecting virtual dust in my steam library.     I genuinely enjoyed this game. The devs appeared to have concentrated on delivering fun throughout and in my view they have. Beyond the fun campaign there is absolutely loads to do in the games, with achievements, side missions etc and with the whole game area again open from the start. The missions don't feel like a chore like another certain game series of this design. The superI genuinely enjoyed this game. There are some flaws, such as repeated design from SR3 and a lack of costumes etc but I still give it a ten as I enjoyed this game and played it a lot. Good work.… Expand

    i enjoyed the "unrealistic" nature of saints row 3,with the zombies and all , but i think the concept of having superpowers and aliens is a step to far.

Saints Row IV is different from its predecessor because in Saints Row IV your character will have cool super powers like freeze blast, telekenesis, super stomp, etc. In Saints Row IV cars are pretty much useless because you'll most likely be using super jump and super sprint to travel. But you can still cuztomize them the way you like. The character customization is excellent, you can customize almost anything. The side actvivities are very fun, I really like Prof. Genki's Mind Over Murder because it's fun and challenging. The game has many refrences to other games. The weapons are funny and unique like the dubstep gun and the blackhole gun. Collecting the clusters are very fun too. Overall Saints Row IV is a very enjoyable game.… Expand

I held out hope that the devs were going to expand beyond expectations considering all the wacky aliens, superpowers, and ridiculous weapons they were adding.     SR 2 & 3 had some restraint and at least attempted to build up to their big action sequences. SR4 starts off with a bang and never stops in the worst way possible. The only thing that breaks up the action sequences are a few comedic moments and nostalgia pandering scenes but even these manage to go over-the-top. Seriously, who has played SR1 and why is so much of this game wasted on referencing it? Many of the rest breaks I took while playing this were just to detox from the Michael Bay-ness of everything; I love blowing up spaceships as much as everyone else, but there's a point in time where you just want to walk through the city and beat pedestrials with a giant ♥♥♥♥♥. Much of the game feels like you are forced to take the most explosive route possible through everything; I really wish there was an ability toggle button because simply bumping into pedestrians or vehicles while super sprinting will have the police shooting lasers at you for miles. The majority of this game feels like action for the sake of action with most of it feeling unrewarding and boring at times.

    Adding to the rushed feeling of SR4, much of the game doesn't feel playtested. For example, Explosive Blast's chain reaction will kill whole flashpoints with a single fireball from any distance, while the Buff ability feels like a joke considering how late in the game you get it. Weapons have plenty of issues too; some weapons are completely useless unless you are handed them for a mission (obligatory useless sniper rifle, Alien SMG, Dubstep Gun, etc.) while others slaughter everything unupgraded (Disintegrator, 'Merica, etc.). I found myself using garbage weapons or abilities just to complete in-game challenges because otherwise I would've just used Blast & the Thump Gun for everything.

    The storyline feels really slapped together too. Why bother with more simulation exploits when you have a suit of giant power armor in the real world? Everytime something cool happens in the real world it feels like the game drops an arbitrary hurdle for you to overcome inside the simulation. The whole in-out-in-out just feels like padding and an excuse to turn off superpowers for missions, especially considering your Health upgrades carry over into the real world. I really would've enjoyed more time spent in the real world... Perhaps the first part of the game inside the simulation with all the ridiculous superpowers and the second half in the real world, fighting Zinyak on his own turf? Overall it just feels like a missed chance simply because the devs wanted to recycle as much as possible.

    So is SR4 just extended DLC for SR3? Yes, but really, really long DLC. I feel like they stretched SR3's assets as far as they could go and whipped together some quick alien tech from recycled STAG parts. People might try to draw conclusions between this and GTA 3 vs. VC & SA, but those were completely new environments, characters, vehicles, and so forth. SR4 manages to even reuse 3's map despite Earth being destroyed (whoops spoilers!)!

    Should you bother playing SR4? If you've played any of the previous games, you will find something familiar here. If you are new to the series, don't expect "GTA With Aliens" because this is the most bombastic Saints Row yet. I enjoyed this but it would be my least favorite Saints Row if SR2's PC port wasn't garbage. I recommend giving it a shot but 2 and 3 are clearly better games.    … Expand

    But it was worth playing multiple times

It's based much more on pedestrian missions as opposed to car driven ones. There, I said it and I'm glad that I got it off of my chest.

    The best part of the single player campaign in 'Saints Row 4' is how it never grows stale; constantly changing perspectives, situations, characters, and even genre, this game keeps you own your feet and never lets you down. In just a few minutes you'll go from platforming, to 2D side-scrolling beat em' up, to sitting in a turret blasting alien spaceships out of the sky. But the game doesn't stop there, it also adds in super powers to really make things fun and gives you the ability to jump as high as buildings, run faster than the speed of sound, shoot fire out of your palms, and basically any other awesome power you can think of; yep, this game has it all.

    I'm so glad that I finally gave 'Saints Row IV' a chance, because this is one of those games that you sit down to play for an hour and end up beating the whole damn thing. It instantly grabs you with it's balls to the wall attitude, tosses you up against that wall, and then proceeds to give you the thrill ride of a lifetime. The story doesn't take itself too seriously, the cut-scenes don't feel like a chore to watch, it's fast-paced, it's entertaining, it's got sex, it's got cars, it's got guns galore; it's basically the best action movie you've ever seen. Aliens have come to take over the planet, and it's up to the president of the United States to save the day. What else is new. Welcome to Earth.    … Expand

    The fourth part in the Saints Row saga is an outrageous, silly and incredibly entertaining adventure. The days of Grand Theft Auto is since long gone and the game reminds you rather of the super hero games Crackdown and Infamous. An unexpected but welcome change.
