Sure, the graphics aren't top-notch, and there are some missing elements, but the bottom line is that fans of rugby will look past the little things and rejoice that the game provides an exciting and mostly realistic representation of the sport.

PC GamerA dreadful-looking but surprisingly playable simulation of a truly complex game. [Feb 2004, p.84]
-
Passing between players is slow and cumbersome, kick-offs are genuinely ugly, rucks are something of a lottery and to top it all off the game is far too easy.
-
This is one that only the hardest of the hardcore should consider buying. Even then, wait for a used copy to surface at your game store. Casual fans will want to wait it out and see what next year brings. EA certainly has a lot of room for improvement.
-
The game itself really doesnt get that exciting, even during the last few minutes of a tight game, which is uncommon for a sports title these days.
