    Most fun game of the year, easily.

    It's my GOTY above Witcher, Ark, or anything else. The replayability (it's easy to pick up but quite difficult to truly master), the fact it really does replicate the chaos of what an actual indoor soccer game feels like (something no other sports game has truly done with their sport choice). Best $20 I've spent on a game in a couple years. Gets even    Most fun game of the year, easily.

There’s been a consistent trend of updates solely focused on coercing players to actively engage in their microtransactions. Now that it’s gone F2P, this change has become even more damnable. They’ve now explicitly gone back on their initial promises and are preying on player data as we are being railroaded into accepting hidden terms of service, now that players are uneable to play without an Epic Games account. Epic has now fully integrated the Fortnite system into Rocket League, and it’s pathetic to see. Hold off on this game and let’s wait and see when this predatory system reveals yet another EA. Let’s hope our laws will continue to evolve to actively protect the safety and integrity of videogame players, if only to preserve what’s left of the interactive experience as an artform.… Expand

    An original game with decent gameplay, and would be fun if it wasn't full of cheaters. The game is ruined by people who can fly with unlimited boost and hit the ball midair from any angle and have it magically go straight into the goal every time. It's sad that these people have such poor quality character that they derive enjoyment from doing this.

    I dont understand the high scores. Desent gameplay but not all that fun and after every frigging goal a replay that you cant turn of but must klick a button to not see.

    Seems a lot of ppl think its replicate indoor soccer well not any of the 400+ games I played irl.

    Used to be a great game, but Epic is always ruining everything they touch.

    Was a good game up until Epic bought them out - now it's a MTX riddled mess with server problems, match making issues, and forces you to make an Epic account (Epic's store has many security issues related to identity theft in China - very well documented). Very sad to see what's happened to a once great game.

It will let you play streaks of up to 10 unwinnable games against game champions, and then you will have a much too easy match against complete noobs who can barely touch the ball. Simply search "rocket league matchmaking"The gameplay itself is quite addictive, but unfortunately the player experience is completely ruined by its silly matchmaking system, which is the worst I've ever seen. It will let you play streaks of up to 10 unwinnable games against game champions, and then you will have a much too easy match against complete noobs who can barely touch the ball.     Use to be one of my favourite games now complete ruined since being sold to Epic, the items, the tournaments are garbage. The runs worse than ever have nothing to look forward to playing.

    This game is bad, community is horrible, and their support team is a joke, you're treated like a pig and no one cares, if you speak up against other mishabits by players you get banned immediately, horribie community handling, happy at least that its no longer on steam, should be removed from any other platform aswell, disgusting game

    From 16th September players on Steam platform are unable to enter game unless they connect to some other niche platform. So this is dealbreaker as initially game didint required this.

    The game is fun to play. Though as soon as you start to take it seriously the developers have done so little work. The inconsistency in connection,touches,ball touching the ground in the 1 second,connecting to wrong servers,difference in latency between players. Better find another game to spend your time because all these bugs are irritating and not acceptable for a competitive game.

    First and foremost, RL is pure fun from the moment you pick it up just due to its fast pace and physics. It seems easy on the surface - just drive around and hit the ball. But underneath there's a layer of complexity that takes time and skill to master. Before you know it you'll be driving up the walls and launching yourself into the air with rocket boost. You don't have to be a soccerFirst and foremost, RL is pure fun from the moment you pick it up just due to its fast pace and physics.     Pese a haberle costado encontrar un hueco en el mercado, Psyonix lo ha hecho y por la puerta grande. Nos ha deleitado con un título frenético, viciante y entretenidísimo.
    El juego más divertido del año probablemente. Y al que la empresa le sigue dando soporte y han anunciado muchos planes y contenido para él.

    This is probably the best multiplayer game out right now. This is a skill based game, and it's refreshing to see such a game achieve this level of popularity. However, I have a hard time recommending this to casual players. The game has a steep difficulty curve, so be warned. This is a great game.

Пришли эпик геймс, а вместе с ними и лаги на серверах (живу и так далеко от Европы), все мои купленные машины теперь бесполезны, они ничего не стоят. Изменили качество и редкость предметов. Теперь многие из них тоже ничего не стоят. В игре ухудшилось коммьюнити, в рейтинговых играх теперь регулярно люди ливают прямо посреди игры, потому, что они новенькие, им без разницы на команду. Рокет лига со своим уютным коммьюнити умирает прямо у меня на глазах ото дня ко дню... Цены на валюту и предметы стали скупердорогими. Спасибо, Rocket League 2015-2020. RIP… Expand

    After this "shift" in "ownership", price and DRM you have to sit through a painfully long and insulting cutscene that they sell as a tutorial and then they notify you that you MUST HAVE an EGS account in order to play it as you would've normally done.
    You then have to    Rocket league in it's prime days was a 10/10 title but I had to reorganise my thoughts after Psyonix sold it to Epic.

    You then have to accept EGS TOS, which they won't let you read in-game before agreeing, and after this you can finally play the game.
    It's not that bad you might say, but for someone who spent money and time on this game it can be quite irritating and insulting, as EGS didn't even thank the player for having supported the game when it was on Steam.
    EGS has also messed up the servers as I spent 30 minutes trying to set up a private tournament, only to get the "Could not connect to server" error.
    After all the game was pretty nice but you had to practice a lot to get the hang of it.
    It's a real shame that this game is going down the drain (imo) as it was fun to play competively and with friends.
    so for the rating: 7/10 pre Epic

    I just don't like it and need to vent my spleen. I find it very toxic and the novelty of the only game mode really worth playing (3v3) wears off super quick. Thank goodness it's free-to-play. Could you imagine wasting money on this?

    But thx to EPIC I cant play anymore.
    562,24 € and 1800 hours spent in the game. FOR NOTHING.

    I wont make an EPIC Account just to play the game. I bought it on steam and will not add another launcher.

    Rocket League is one of the biggest games of 2020. The story is amazing the graphics are amazing the guns are amazing and most of all this game is amazing. This is a single-player story-based game you play as Jakob Harrison. You go on an adventure of self-discovery and revenge. Jackson Pig Breath killed your friend Theodore and you being Jack Robinson have to go and find Jackson and killRocket League is one of the biggest games of 2020.     This game is ass, super lazy and boring. I would rather play the WWE games than this uninspired piece of **** Only fun if you really get good and play competitive, but no sane person would ever do that. I only got it because it was suddenly free, yet i still want a refund.

    Most overrated game i've ever played, It's really boring, even with friends. The game is so repetitive, boring and toxic that it made me get bored after 2 hours. Unfortunately, i forgot to close the game when I was afk and when I came back, I had 1 hour too much over the refund limit.

    o primeiro ponto que não gostei do jogo foi que:
    1_ O pareamento de partidas é desigual no modo casual
    2_ A conexão não é boa 3_ O sistema de ranking do jogo é uma merda, se voce perder uma partida voce chega a cair de rank 4_ A bola é um tanto esquisita, sendo assim temos chutes acertando o gol de uma forma muito esquisita 5_ E a parte da explosão de carros que não tem sentido algum,    o primeiro ponto que não gostei do jogo foi que:
    1_ O pareamento de partidas é desigual no modo casual
    2_ A conexão não é boa
    3_ O sistema de ranking do jogo é uma merda, se voce perder uma partida voce chega a cair de rank
    4_ A bola é um tanto esquisita, sendo assim temos chutes acertando o gol de uma forma muito esquisita
    5_ E a parte da explosão de carros que não tem sentido algum, do nada você é explodido, seja por uma batida ou seu proprio companheiro te explodindo
    6_ O sistema de identificar um chute ou uma defesa é muito ruim, sendo assim quase nunca contanto um chute ou uma defesa importante    … Expand

    The requirement of an Epic Games account is HORRIBLE, you have to agree to a ToS they don't even give you the ability to read. The tutorial treating veterans like noobs is INSULTING. The new UI is disgustingly UGLY. The loss of ~100fps on a Ryzen 5 1600x and gtx 2070 super after this update is UNACCEPTABLE.     If you're playing with friends, this is a great game which rewards time put into it with improved skill. If you're playing with random people online, you will have to contend with A) Huge amounts of toxicity and B) Vast numbers of brain dead players who work against you even if they're on your team.

    Both points COULD be greatly improved if the developers were interested. They are not.

    The game is fun, there is nothing boring. I only care about single player so in that perspective there is a season you can play with variety of different free cars and in many different arenas, controls are simple but require some time getting use to. Graphics are good, music is excellent. And the AI can give you tough time in match.

    The camera system of this game is so bad. Also how stupid the developers are, they put players in the middle of the losing match where only 1-2 minutes left in the game and the scoreboard is 4-0/3-0. Even in casual matches, taking leave from the game in such a situation gives punishment.

    The game is very addicting and fun. Learning to master air shots and other maneuvers keeps the game challenging and fresh. Offline modes are fun and challenging on all star difficulty, the training modes are definitely helpful as well.

    I would say it is essentially the same game but with improvements across the board. The graphics are more detailed, the Physics and realism    Rocket League aka Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars 2 (SARPBC 2) is essentially a really good re-make of the first SARPBC which was my "go to" game for around 5 years!!!! They have kept true to their original design concept = Awesome.

    I would say it is essentially the same game but with improvements across the board. The graphics are more detailed, the Physics and realism of the game play are true to the original. The Arena's are all similar in shape to the most popular pitch in SARPBC (Urban) but they do vary in weather conditions and have both day & night play. I have heard they are developing additional Arena's of different shapes which is cool.

    The matchmaking system wants to match you to similar skilled players, whereas in the original you could be matched against the best players and get spanked :( or against noobs and spank them = boring.
    So now with similar skilled players there is always the competitive edge that makes you want to do better and have "JUST ONE MORE GAME !!!!"

    There were several different cars in SARPBC with only 4 different paint jobs for each car. Now there are a staggering amount of customisations available from different wheel trims to HATS and even more cars to choose from !!!! So you can have the coolest looking car on the pitch.

    Offline mode previously allowed you some skills training to learn the ropes and this is much the same now with Rocket League. However now you can try your skills against the bots in either Exhibition maps or Season Mode. Having completed 2 seasons (9 weeks & 18 weeks) it is very compelling and challenging. Yes the Bots make silly mistakes but in my experience playing SARPBC so do a lot of players. With the overwhelming success of Rocket League I feel confident that Pysonix will be improving Bot skills making it even more challenging.

    Overall I'm very impressed with Rocket League. In SARPBC it took me a couple of games to grips with the basics, several hours to get to a decent level and having played at least 10 hours a week for 5 years of SARPBC I was still learning how to score that FreeStyle Aerial Goal!!!

    You have to play this game. Srsly. You can't judge it by just watching the screenshots or even videos, you have to FEEL it. The game is mad fun, gaming at its best.

    And it's surprisingly deep too. It's easy to pick up, but to _really_ mastering it, it will keep you busy for a long time.

    And the devs are the best.

    graphics are amazing and i love to play this with my mates.

The ball and the cars both obey a totally unrealistic physics, where they hang in the air for periods of time far longer than their weight would allow. This, combined with false camera angles, makes it even harder.
    A bunch of other issues:
    - The devs have lied about car stats, claiming they're all the same, when controlled testing by players has shown they have very different hit boxes, turning radiuses, boost kicks and power slide times.
    - You can play a season in solo mode, but you're not allowed to create a private season with friends - only exhibition games. Why limit our choices to play the way we want?
    - Car AIs behave very differently, and you can't recruit the best AIs onto your team in season mode.
    - The devs have even admitted they use prediction algorithms to 'cheat' by moving the ball and repositioning players in online games to make up for lag and make sure the computers have an advantage. I.e., the computer knows where the ball is going to land, knows where you're going to be in the next few seconds, and can move either thing to make it "right" so the interaction plays out the way it wants it to. No wonder you can drive right at the ball and suddenly find yourself speeding by it.

    In all, the game is cute, but totally rigged against players to increase artificial "challenge". And that gets frustrating quickly.    … Expand

The bots are playing surprisingly good, there's a high possibility that you will lose your first games against the bots.

    Customization possibilities: Players are able to customize their battle-car by unlocking items which are gained by completing an online or offline match. This includes changing the body, decal (skin), paint, wheels, rocket trail, topper (hat) and antenna of the battle-car. In total, there are more than 150 customization items unlockable, which means that there are millions of different customizations possible

    My conclusion: Rocket League is incredibly fun. Rocket League is incredibly addictive. Rocket League is incredibly competitive. If I would have to compare the gameplay to another game, I would only be able to choose Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, which is the prequel to Rocket League, made by the same developer. I strongly recommend to buy this game even if you don't like sports games as Rocket League feels way different compared to FIFA or PES. The game is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. It's easy to understand the basics, but will take a lot of time to get genuinely good at the game.     The game play is great, you get to combine your driving/racing game skills with your sports game skills, which are two very old concepts in gaming, but psyonix has combined them for a completely new and original experience. In terms of options, you can play online vs other players, (1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v3 ,or 4 v4), or locally with friends. You can also play vs people online with your team set up locally split screen. There is single player, you can do a "season", but its essentially just an exhibition vs bots over and over. Most people will just be playing online 3 v 3 over and over. but thats really all you need!

    The only knock on the game so far, which has been well documented, is the server issues. But I really havent had too much of an issue with it, a few laggy games here and there, but no real trouble finding a game.

    If you are here reading the reviews, that means youre at least semi interested, you should just go play the game already. 20 bucks very very well spent    … Expand

    Worth the hype. All my friends play it so I thought I will try it too. Its as simple as getting the ball into the net. For some one who has loved cars and ball games for as long as I can remember this is perfect. It reminds me of the days when I we were all playing Trackmania. No regrets 10/10

My account got hacked by a website called www.rocket-reality.com, and I messaged Devin on Reddit, and he was super nice about it, and really helped me out.     I give this game 5, but it deserves a 5 after epic bought it, the game went down hill. Before that it's a solid 9 or 10 in my opinion. The game is fun with friends, community is very toxic but that's fine. Game lost it's spirit when battle pass was added.

    Since epic took over this game it turned into even bigger sh1t than it already was. "People" who play this game are triggered by the chat and it's too much for those ret4rds to just use the "mute" button so they decide to stay afk or play against you instead.
    Ranks and points system in this game - total piece of sh1t. Why? Because the game doesn't really see who is a better player who is doing much more for the win. The other guy can be ruining everything by ballchasing which causes passing to enemy and making the opponent score, etc.
    He cant save, cant pass or clear, cant do anything BUT the game will give points to this stupid ballchaser, thus "making" him better player and giving him more MMR points just because he keeps touching the ball at the right time and in the right place (according to this broken points system, not according to logic). RIDICULOUS. It doesnt matter that he's made all the mistakes that lead to a loss. Total nonsense. Those who make this game should watch at least 1 football match and see how players are evaluated. 1 stupid thing you did on the pitch and you are out for long, if not forever. In this game mistakes dont matter. Hell, even playing against your own teammate is not punished. You can score 30 own goals in 1 match and it's not even noted anywhere :DDD Even in stupid CS:GO you are banned for team-killling. Here you can do literally whatever you want. There are no statistics for anything wrong the player did and that's why this whole game is a mess! So many over-ranked people who were boosted by cheaters! Then he goes to play alone and you are matched with him in the team and he plays like piece of s..t that he really is. Man... I seriously think that those who make this game are trolls.

    Prices are a joke in this game. Its another piece of sh1t after CS:GO made to make money for the devs and it's "pro" cheating players, but in CS:GO you can at least buy whatever you want for a decent price. Here even stupid goal explosion is like 20$.

    How can such game not even support a mouse-look? I know there are a lot of people who play on a controller, but not everyone does. I want to look around freely like in any other game. Is it too hard to make it possible? Or would it be an advantage over controllers? Well boo-hoo, Learn how to play with a mouse then.

    No brightness or contrast settings, the game somehow "forgets" about applying the anti-aliasing which I have to do every time I start the game.

    How to make this game a bit better? Make mmr thing finally work through punishing bad players and trolls. In current state you will be only punished with a BAN for calling someone an idiot which he really is by judging how he plays (you will be banned for the game entirely instead of being muted :DDD). Second game after CS:GO which was made for cheating streaming losers with no better idea for life, pathetic sissies and ret4rds.    … Expand

That's why restaurants that specialize in pasta don't only serve pasta, for example. It's easy to turn off a customer who doesn't like their pasta. In short: A unique little concept, but it doesn't have any variety whatsoever and gets boring incredibly quickly. Oh, and before you say anything, why take the time to play a game I'm not enjoying just so I can get better and potentially enjoy it more? I could easily be spending that time on a better game having more fun. Rocket League is, simply put, repetitive. I don't WANT to "get good", because it isn't fun. I don't give a damn if it's more fun as a pro, but if I have to waste 50 hours getting to that level before I find your game enjoyable compared to using that time to play a BETTER GAME, you've failed as a developer.
    tl;dr: Repetitive, and beyond overrated. It simply isn't fun. Why a 4 if all I've spouted is negativity? Because it controls well, the devs aren't trying to swindle people, and it's taking the piss out of FIFA. BUT, that won't excuse the COMPLETE lack of replayability. Every match is the same. Punt the ball to the goal, or use teamwork to punt the ball to the goal. Nothing more, and it gets old FAST. But, in this day and age, people will FLOCK to a game that's simplistic and repetitive. See: Agar.io. You can say it's "simplistic" all you want, but that doesn't make it LESS DAMN REPETITIVE.

    double tl;dr: overrated and repetitive. I hear that Verdun is on sale. Go buy that if you want an example of a GOOD competitive multiplayer game.    … Expand

    It's funny! And Addictive! And more funny! Soccer + Cars with simplified mechanics. It's difficult to develop a game in this way and become a good one. And the developers are updating it each week with improvements

    Broken multiplayer, unable to login on Rocket League servers, 80% of the fun is gone, maybe when the devs get tired of filling their pockets with money, they will fix the game so everybody could play it online.

    When i first heard of this game, I thought "its just soccer with cars how fun can it be?"
    Well it turns out this game gave me the most fun ive had playing any video game in a long time.

    Do you remember “Top Gear” episodes in which football matches were played using hatchbacks? The same idea is the cornerstone of Rocket League – one of those jewels that do not care for bells and whistles (though it does look great) and Kevin Spacey in the credits, instead focusing on squeezing every last drop of fun out of a simple concept.
