    Just excellent all around. Great graphics and just absolutely love the gameplay and the story line. Hopefully they keep creating these

    Excellent gameplay, engaging story, brilliant atmosphere and looks gorgeous. The only few criticism I can mention are: you need a lot of backtracking if you like to complete everything and the story is very predictable. The pros far outweight these though and to me it is easy a 10/10, well made and genius.

    If you're reading this, I have to state this!!! Because every people complaining about the optimization of the game actually forced the card way beyond it could handle. The game is greatly optimized, but entitled and spoiled people just set the graphics in max, because their ego-graphic-card that think can set all games to max settings. But this game is pretty heavy, so... remember!If you're reading this, I have to state this!!!     Very high textures = 8GB VRAM (It was meant just for Titan X and 4k res)
    High textures = 4GB VRAM
    Medium textures = 2GB VRAM

    If you use more than you card could handle of course it would freeze a lot.
    And don't use SSAA anti-alias!! Use SMAA.

    Now you can forget the fear of this game not being optimized. When in fact is greatly optimized.
    The game is absolutely gorgeous, fun, great. I'm not reviewing just to repeat what other people said. I hope this instructions can help you to play the game and have a blast. :)    … Expand

    Amazing, if you liked 2013 tomb raider then don't hold back on this one, it makes the old one seem **** even though I loved it and it's a great port no problems for me so far

    Not a perfect Tomb Raider for me, but definitely much better than the last one. For me, more puzzles and tombs and it would be the perfect Tomb Raider. I hope the next one will continue this good evolution, and will be more like the old Tomb Raider.

    Amazing game. Smooth, varied gameplay. Hugely entertaining shootouts. Fun puzzles at the tombs. Amazing graphics. Pretty good story and mythology. An open world worth exploring. It's one for the best action games ever made

    Looking good so far ! Everything is perfect . Good port and excellent graphics. Story is ok close as first one. Feels like Lara is truly allive and like watching a movie.

    I like the Game VERY MUCH.

    Not only it looks outstanding. It was a fun experience with an okay-good story. I also really enjoy the DLCs especially endurance mode, which kept you for a bit longer than the actual game

    This was very good. It had an excellent story line. Laura Croft seemed like a real person. The environments were beautiful and detailed. Some people may not like all the climbing and jumping though and may be tempted to refer to it as a "climbing simulator". What makes this better than The Witcher 3 is that they did to try to make a giant open world game that takes 200 hours to complete. IThis was very good. It had an excellent story line.     This game is absolutely stunningly beautiful. It follows the tomb raider reboot story and adds additional elements to it. More tombs, crafting, stealth, hunting, healing, and additional combat elements that all make this game more compelling than the reboot. The game is longer and the story is better IMO as well. The only downside is at the moment the soviet installation area is a bit choppy compared to other areas and hopefully this improves as optimizations/ updates come out.

    Overall a 10/10 and had a blast playing this. Can't wait for the next game, where they hopefully add more elements to the gameplay from the original games as well as more complicated puzzles.    … Expand

    Best graphics I've seen in a game to date! I have a GTX 970, intel i5 4690K, 16GB Ram, Windows 10. Runs perfect at 1080P, and I recommend to anyone and everyone who likes action adventure games.
    The use of in-engine cut-scenes reminds me of God of War 3 :)

    Easily one of the best games ever made hands down. Graphics, story, tombs, gameplay, the action, mechanics, puzzles, the open world feel and seeing lara croft go through hell again. Buy this game immediately.

    A Masterpiece. Such an amazing game. Finished it in 20 hours, didn't rush anything. Story was amazing, it had some plot twists. Game-play is very fun and addicting, love the new rope swing feature. All of the mountains, valleys, and tombs looked very different from each other. And this time the tombs had a purpose unlike the previous installment of the game where only completionists wouldA Masterpiece. Such an amazing game. Finished it in 20 hours, didn't rush anything. Story was amazing, it had some plot twists. Game-play is very fun and addicting, love the new rope swing feature. All of the mountains, valleys, and tombs looked very different from each other. And this time the tombs had a purpose unlike the previous installment of the game where only completionists would do them. This game rewards the players who want to adventure and explore, that is one of the things that i love about this game. Near the end it gets very intense and in the final stage you feel like you are in a Assassin's Creed game witch i absolutely loved. The Baba Yaga DLC is very fun and has a interesting ending. Overall great game, game-play, music, features, perfect optimization, compelling story and very lovable and likable characters!

    Pros:Awesome game-play and story. Superb graphics, Challenging tombs and crypts. Weapon and skill upgrades and resources add replay value.
    Cons:Lag spikes and Frame drops on Highest settings and dual GPU setups. Some challenge quests are hard to find and not really rewarding.

    This game is incredible. If you enjoyed the last one you'll enjoy this one without a doubt. I had expectations for the reboot and it blew me away, and high expectations for this one which was exceeded. Only gripes I had were some story elements (No spoiler, but important events happened at all too convenient times) and minor wonkiness with some controls. Graphics incredible, gameplayThis game is incredible. If you enjoyed the last one you'll enjoy this one without a doubt.     As a massive fan of the Tomb Raider reboot I was worried that this would not live up to my expectations but those fears were soon wiped away. The game is beautiful. The gameplay is great. The storyline is interesting and held my focus throughout. 100% recommended.

    This is one of the best optimized,graphically intense game in Tomb Raider history with great story, action pack combats with few stealthy situation, pretty much semi-open world, lots of activities and tombs to raid. I will definitely recommend this game to players to haven't played this yet.

    Muy divertido, el juego te incita a completarlo al 100% (que es lo que hice), gráficos excelentes (aunque un poco mal optimizado), todo el uso de nuevas habilidades es excelente. La historia es muy simple y obvia, pero es disfrutable. Es un gran juego que merece la pena re jugar y completarlo todo. 10/10

    Houve evolução consideravel em tudo desde o TR 2013, graficos, mapa etc. Historia bem gliche prometendo algo pro terceiro jogo, gostei mais da babvanga como Boss do que o vilão russo do jogo principal.

    A great sequel to the GOTY of 2013. Excellent game in all fronts. Great production values, a nice story, great gameplay. Very, but VERY underrated on metacritic. It is not GOTY of 2015 (That would be Witcher 3) or 2016 on PC (that would be Deus Ex Mankind Divided or Dishonored 2), but it comes close. Great game.

    Now this is a good game. Im 30 years old and i dont have that much time to play games anymore but this one keept me coming back all the way untill the end. The was they hurt Laura and the pain she is going through is really a first in the game industry. Its gritty, gruesome, with a strong female protagonist. Such a good powerful mix and presented really well.

    Could be more choices, less linear, but that probably wouldnt be so polished and perfectly tuned up. Ofcourse i, as hardcore rpg player, have some reservations, but still, this game doesnt deserve anything bellow 10/10. Top quality everything, even    This is one of best games ever made, i love it.

    After the reboot this game maintain the quality of the fist game launched 2013. Excelent history, gameplay, graphics and art. Amazing and fantastic game.

    Как сказать - одна из моих любимых игр. Выглядит великолепно, играть интересно, Ларка как живая. Всем советую. На распродаже копейки стоит. Все прекрасно.

    One of the best games I've ever played. The graphics is awesome even on average system. Lara is really good looking - the character you really care about. Locations are much more diverse and less "dirty" than in the first part of the trilogy. Survival aspect is very immersive on high difficulty with lack of weapons and ammo. Would like the next Tomb Rider was as cool as this one.

    Even better than the first one! Love how they focused more on the stealth aspect in fact outside a few forced combat situations I managed to stealth my way through the whole game.

    It's the best game in the reboot trilogy, after playing them all it's safe to say Rise is the most fun game out of all. Most content, DLC's. I liked expeditions and cards so much, shame they didn't return in Shadow. Good story, fun gameplay. Comparable to 2013 game but even better.

    I guess the graphics are the star of the show here, the gameplay and combat mechanics were improved too, and stealth gameplay is rewarding, you need to gather some dumb coins, so you can trade them for the pistol silencer at some point in the first part of the game, I don't like that system but the entire game is so great that I don't mind those things. To get the best weapons and equipment you need to search the entire place for those Byzantine coins, luckily all I need is the pistol silencer, otherwise that system would have lowered the game score for me. Also saved by the 20-year anniversary version comes with great automatic pistols from the start, like the moon shadow or something like that, otherwise starting with that old rusty revolver and searching all over for the automatic pistol parts is a mechanic that would have killed the game for me. In the end, they made some design mistakes but were somehow solved or got even with some other proper design mechanics that counter those flaws.

    Loved the antagonists of both 2013 and 2016 TR games, father Mathias and Constantine are complex and deep psychopaths that provide interesting scenarios for Lara to overcome. As I stated in the 2013 TR review, this is the best Lara ever, loved they dropped the sexualized version of the female character and went all in with this grounded approach that made this Lara my favorite Female action character.    … Expand

    Rise of the Tomb Raider is a masterpiece. This is what we want. and this game has great animations, great acting and great action.

    Lara Croft is hot and sexy female character in this amazingly fun action-adventure game, specially if you use nude mode on Lara, to see her full beauty! This game is full of action, hidden temples and fun puzzles to solve. Graphics are also really good for 2016 game. Highly recommended!

    Not gonna lie, i was never Tomb Raider fan. I knew it existed, but it always felt little bit "low budget". Of course first two were top-tier for 90s, but i feel like after that, specially in 2000s, these games felt cheap compared to other AAA games. But this reboot changed everything. Now it looks graphically better than most games, gameplay feels smooth and fun, exploring tombs isNot gonna lie, i was never Tomb Raider fan.     Now you understand why it is the best Tomb Raider game, this game personally broke "the fourth wall" of the series and of all video games, the new objectives and the narrative gave the point of view for the Tomb Raider franchise keep living and not abandon it, I played it in the 20 Years Celebration Edition, this edition is worth it.

There's a ton of things to do in the game aside from the main missions. Although I skipped a lot, the game finds way to keep you busy with all the challenges and activities you can do. One of the downsides is the enemy's AI which is pretty weak. Another downside, despite the fantastic graphics, Crystal Dynamics recycled a lot of the same structures in the game such as narrow pathways in a cave that use the same animation over again. I know it's a little nitpicky but you notice these things too easily.

    As in previous Tomb Raider games, the puzzles in this game are fairly easy. Pretty much straightforward. I wished they would've given a little bit more variety in Lara's arsenal. The selection feels limited although the upgrades are nice. I would've given this game a 10 rating but needed to knock off a point due to the use of Denuvo.     It is basically an updated version of it's predecessor - and that is not a bad news. Rise of the Tomb Raider corrects every bad aspect of Tomb Raider from 2013 and adds many new things. Locations are open, there are many easy side quests that can help players with leveling up and getting experience. Graphics also seem to be improved compared to the last instalment of the series.

    The crafting system has been expanded and the tombs now feel like proper puzzles (although nowhere near as hard as the original in 1996). The graphics have been reworked and Laura looks AMAZING.
    Unfortunately there are some optimisation issues. The Anisotropic filtering takes a lot of horsepower (yeah, it's like 1999 all over again!) and the shadows are a blocky mess and they have a massive impact on performance. Regardless, it looks beautiful.

    If anything, I felt that ROTTR could use a bit more content, but that's more to do with the fact that I just want to keep playing this forever rather than a lack of content.

    Really tough to find too much in this game to dislike.. if I HAD to complain about something, it would be that I wish I got juuust a bit more FPS in certain areas, but couldn't we all?

    Felt a lot like watching a action movie where you get to control the main character.

    There does not seem to be as many puzzles to solve in this one but there are bigger area;s to explore.

The platforming is phenomenal as well as the stealth combat however the gunplay becomes exhausting near the end when you just fight hordes of enemies. That's when the game is at its weakest.     Ok, so Lara is a murdering, antiquity vandalising, endangered species killing, manipulative, sociopathic thief with an inhuman ability to survive frequent plunges into near freezing cold water. She single handedly causes more damage than the combined efforts of a small invasion force without once loosing control of her perfectly rendered hair. Aside from that, this is brilliant fun!

The frame dips are really heavy in snowy areas especially, but that does not take away from the great experience that this game is. There is more to do, more upgrades to find, more actual TOMBS in a TOMB Raider and a very well presented story.     Well made, the atmosphere, the scenes, sounds/music/dialogue are pretty amazing, the gameplay is better than the last one, another fixes and additional tools than the last one, that's a great job by Square Enix.

    First, ask yourself these:

    1. Do you like Lara Croft Games?
    If yes, continue.

    2. Do you mind being a young woman fighting only men?
    If no, you don't mind, continue.

    3. Did you play and (!) like the previous game?
    Optional, either way continue ;)

    I really like the game and the reboot in general. It's a journey showing why Lara becomes the woman she's reknown for.
    In this "episode" the center plays around her father and the legacy he left Lara. Throughout the game, either during campfire restings or cut scenes, Lara's past and development is being explained more and more.
    Whoever remembers the originals will realize that this is very true and fitting - a little girl who grew up with a loving yet distant father, who was driven to (Spoiler) "suicide" in the end.

    The gameplay is excellent, as always. It's a lot better than the previous version, less repetative and extremly satisfying.
    Yes of curse it's not fully immersive - as per usual you unlock abilities, weapon extensions and so on. It's a game and I don't mind as it does actually feel "rewarding", appealing to the human senses of improving ourself.

    Graphics, what can I say? If you've got the machine, play it at least on High if not FULL - it's a gorgous as a game can get. My first awe was when Lara made her way through deep snow, sruggling forward and leaving a deep trail in the snow with every step. Marvelous!

    Combat is satisfying, however sometimes a tad bit clunky. Clunky in a way where at times you have no other option than to blast through enemies. Lara can now hide and kill even more efficiently silently (taking a part from Assassins Creed, like hiding in bushes or jumping from above for a clean kill) - this however is being disrupted once you're spotted. Hiding again? No chance, enemies will hunt you down to the end and always find you, for example when I dove back under ice water and swam under a thick layer of ice to another exit, NPCs followed me w/o any issues.

    Speaking of ice water. While I love the immersive behavior, I try not to gringe too much about the unrealistic "swimming through ice cold water, drenched wet and then being absolutely fine". Here we need to apply "it's a game" - otherwise you'll groan a bit too often.

    Story: it's ok. It's been there before, especially in movies (Holy Grail anyone?). What really bothers me here is the same like in every cheesy movie: who dies when and how - or what happens next. NOTHING is surprising at all.
    It builds up the typical race to the goal, where people you ally yourself with will die - of course in the most cheesy way. SPOILER: "shoot him, don't listen to him" ...and of course he's not shooting him and of course taking his eyes from the murderous maniac that just tortured you for hours, therefore killing you with a knife. Ugh.

    BUT this does not make it a bad game. It reduces 100% quite a bit, though.

    The second instalment in the rebooted Tomb Raider franchise. As with the first this one maintains a real high quality accompanied with an engaging and interesting story.

    The story is good and interesting. Nothing mind blowing but consistent and fitting the game very well. Lara is a bit more mature than in the previous game which is a good step up from the teen she was in the previous version. The story takes place for the most part in the mountainous region of Syberia with Lara on the quest to discover a lost city of Kitezh to in a way fulfil her fathers legacy in finding the city. On the way she gets tangled up with a mysterious organisation called trinity that's after pretty much the same thing.

    The game mechanics are quite the mixture - apart from standard climbing and otherwise traversing the obstacles you get an array of optional tombs, hunting, fighting, crafting, and resource gathering going on. While all of them are well executed - they do feel a bit disjointed from the main story line. There are times when although you should be going into certain spot quickly but you go explore optional tomb and for a while forget about the enemies that are pursuing your allies at the moment. This happens frequently enough to be a bother if you invest heavily in the story but still don't want to loose any of the additional content.

    I think the strongest part of the game are actually the optional tombs. The puzzles are interesting and it's the part mostly reminding the old tomb raiders. The whole crafting and resource gathering does seem a bit unnecessary. The fighting although sometimes forced is pretty well executed. There's also plenty of chances to take a stealthy approach which is very nice.

    Overall it's a very good game. As close as you can probably get to Uncharted series on PC. And definitely worth picking up.    … Expand

    You're gonna love this one, it's better than Tomb Raider 2013 and the PC port is quite good after the release of drivers from AMD and NVIDIA. Great storyline and exploration make this an excellent buy for the price.
