Apr 5, 2024Reveil takes you on a thrilling nightmare journey through one man’s memories of life at the circus on a quest for truth (and missing loved ones) that will keep you on the edge of your bleacher seat.
-
Mar 18, 2024Although Reveil relies primarily on story and atmosphere, which it does well, it also offers a good puzzle-solving and level-exploring experience. It's just a shame that the monsters are not very interesting.
-
Mar 11, 2024Sure, it's a bit rough around the edges in a few places and a bit of extra refinement could have done wonders to tighten up the experience and focus it more on what matters. But, the ambience, sound design, set design, most of the gameplay, it's all ideal and really nails the job description of what you expect from a horror title.
-
Mar 6, 2024REVEIL offers a mix of the familiar and the creative, making it a noteworthy addition to the ever-expanding realm of horror gaming. While it could use some improvement in a few places, overall you won’t regret buying an entry ticket to this carnival of horror.
-
Mar 8, 2024Reveil's multifaceted puzzles and disturbing mood demand a lot from both the players and the main character Walter Thompson. It offers a deeply psychological experience that will make you question everything.
-
Mar 12, 2024Although true horror or explicit gore is nowhere to be found, Reveil’s gameplay is filled with tension, mystery, and some genuine surprises. Its many puzzles are fairly well integrated into the narrative and rarely too frustrating or illogical. Part walking simulator, part puzzle game, and part mind-bending mystery, Reveil is a genre-bender that packs a lot of story and memorable creepiness into its modest length.
-
Mar 28, 2024Reveil is a psychological horror adventure that relies on a mystery that gets solved relatively soon, but manages to keep your interest until the end. Its technical accomplishments create a terrifying atmosphere that, unfortunately, gets broken again and again by some details that were handled without care.
-
Mar 15, 2024Reveil, a first-person horror narrative adventure, draws inspiration from Layers of Fear, offering a simple gameplay experience with shifting environments, some clever puzzles, and a compelling twist in the story. Despite its reliance on familiar horror tropes like stealth sequences, it delivers a visually striking experience with solid production values and atmospheric sound design. While it may not be groundbreaking, it provides an enjoyable and affordable option for fans of narrative-driven horror games, with potential for improvement in future installments.
-
Mar 19, 2024Reveil is an atmospheric horror tale with memorable moments, whose strengths are successful puzzles and a visually and playfully vivid setting. Unfortunately, the ending fails to bring the emotional story to a convincing conclusion.

Apr 8, 2024REVEIL feels like a game that tries to be like its inspirations but fails to deliver on what makes them stand out. The game doesn't appropriately do much with the potential it has and the atmosphere and tension it builds doesn't really go anywhere. The twist at the end also comes out of nowhere and exists only to deliver a shock that really isn't deserved.
