    In the end, Resident Evil is a rare gem that has not only been able to make the jump from a video game to a computer game nearly flawlessly but has done so almost two years after it was originally released. Console gamers may want to check out Resident Evil on the PC - it is the only true uncut version of the game, featuring scenes not even in the recently released Resident Evil Directors Cut. If you aren't too squeamish, you should definitely give Resident Evil on the PC a look.

    The cut-scenes were scary and atmospheric.
    The graphics were quite alright, but the controls were not really.

    There was 1 aspect of the game that made the gameplay really difficult if not gamebreaking.
    When I played it first time, I choosed certain path in the mansion and I did not understand why the game is so difficult.
    I read a playthrough where the writer provided a different path which led me to different scripts and weapons in the same mansion. Quite bullsh*t coding, I must say. I mean if I go to a house, the same objects are in the house no matter through which door I choose to go in, right?

    So if you plan to play this game, first, read a proper walkthrough.

    In summary: I enjoyed this, it was maybe the first horror game I ever played. Could have been better experience on console.    … Full Review »
