If you’ve never played République before, this is the best way to experience it. If you have, I’d say the graphical improvements alone make it worth a second look.

The series has grown from a scrappy stealth contender into what increasingly feels like an essential exploration of video game dystopias. If you were still on the fence, it's time to catch up.

Republique Remastered is a very special game that's at peace with it's mobile gaming origins, and succeeds in bringing a very good game to the "grown up" PC world. The only drawback is the unknown tied to the lack of the 4th and 5th chapters, that should theoretically be released for free later. We can only hope they're as good as the first three existing chapters. Anyway, get your passport from this Republic: you won't regret it.

The game has a compelling atmosphere and very good writing, and although there are some slight technical issues that pop up from time to time, they are easily cast aside by the immersive quality of the experience.

Featuring stunning visuals, strong storyline and tense gameplay, Republique Remastered is quite easily one of the better stealth games I have played in quite some time.

Terrific presentation, immersive and convincing dystopian atmosphere and simple yet highly addictive and ever evolving stealth mechanics make Republique an absolute joy to experience and truly, the first real game to emerge from mobile platforms.

I first came across Republique when it was a one-button game on iPad. Now, after revisiting its “1984” inspired world in a remastered edition, I can assure you that the game also works great on PC. [06/2015, p.70]

Republique Remastered is an effective, modern point-and-click adventure, and one of the few good mobile-to-PC upconverts. The controls and gameplay take some time to get used to. But it's well worth it to explore the lovingly realized world of conspiracy and paranoia.

A new take on stealth game genre, with a great atmosphere and a lot to discover. There’s something special in République, thanks to its really good writing.

While not as complex or challenging as many stealth games, Republique still manages to provide a unique and interesting game experience, and its strong narrative focus and rewards for exploration make it well worth picking up.

You won't play anything quite like Republique anytime soon, and its deep storyline is worth taking the time to dig into.

Even on PC, the game works perfectly, and it doesn't lose any of its fascinating gameplay and setting brilliant ideas.

The good news is that, in transitioning to PC, the game remains largely successful. All that remains is for the game's two remaining episodes to stick what is undoubtedly going to be a rough landing for everyone involved.

République Remastered is a solid stealth game with a strong narrative and improved graphics compared to the mobile version.

République Remastered is a little gem, especially if you believe that everything around you is a conspiracy. Inspired by legends of the stealth genre such as Metal Gear and Resident Evil, it manages to keep its own identity, and to be a great showcase of the new Unity 5 Engine.

Republique: Remastered is a great adventure with impeccable staging and powerful narrative.

The three playable of five planned episodes in this nicely written stealth-adventure offers great storytelling and a believable main character. The stealth-mechanics combine sneaky moments with some optional action-gameplay. The dystopian setting gives you the feeling of playing George Orwell's “1984” alive. Graphics with Unity 5 Engine are good, the voice-acting of the main characters is great. Some lacking aspects in AI-failure and the more linear level-design can make you feel a little bit disappointed. But in the end it’s a quite entertaining and well done iOS-port to PC.

The game delivers an original stealth experience with a good narrative, despite some backtracking. If you are looking for a second person adventure, it may be worth a try.

It feels fresh and unique, and the way the plot and lore slowly collects over the course of the first three episodes leaves me pining for the next two.

It is the storytelling that keeps Republique interesting. The stealth mechanics are not up to common standards, but the dystopian setting manages to salvage a lot.

Republique Remastered is a short but well crafted stealth experience, originally developed for iOS and now available for PC and Mac. A good story and a polished gameplay are definitely on the plus side, but this remastered edition fails in offering something new, and is suggested only to those at their first encounter with the game.

République is a game made with clear direction and passion, and is largely competent in matters of gameplay. Remastered is a good upscale that adds clarity and control, but loses something of what made the original sparkle. To me, the iOS version holds a slight edge because the concept works better in that context.

Probably the best thing about République is its evolution and the improvements made in the later episodes.

I want to finish the story, but not play the game to do it.

The game’s enclosed environments were clearly designed with smaller screens in mind, and on such mobile platforms, its production values set it apart from a great swath of its competitors.

For and IOS port it's still gorgeous by PC standards with smooth, tense gameplay with solid animations and lip syncing. The storytelling and writing is the best i have seen from a game this year. This is helped by the amazing voice acting from Jennifer Hale (Mass Effect), David Hayter (Metal Gear) and a first time video game performance from Rena Strober who does an excellent job as Hope the main character. I can not wait for the next 2 episodes and i would definitely recommend this to someone who enjoys an engaging story in a very atmospheric world. Full Review »
