Awesome game. Game of the year easily. It brings the horrors of war to your PC. It can be terrifying when you see a tank and its turret turns towards you. Looks fantastic with a modified Unreal 3 engine. So much amazing detail. Tank battles are so much fun.

An amazing WW2 experience, even with occasional frame drops I can still play it for the time being but it's immensely fun. Rifles feel great, hard but satisfying. I love the way teamwork is portrayed too.

Awesome game, can be a little tough when you first start, especially if you are used to a more "run 'n' gun" style of first-person shooters, but once you learn to slow down a little, and not rush into buildings etc. like a loony you will start raking in the kills. Killing is so very satisfying too, especially with a bolt-action rifle from 200m+, it gives me a little semi on.

If you liked games like the first Red Orchestra, ArmA series, or even games like Bad Company/CoD (hardcore mode), then you should love this game. If you can actually aim, you should love this game. If you are super cool (like me), you should also love this game.

I am not really into the whole WW2 thing, I prefer modern or futuristic weapons in games, but gee whizz this game is so much fun, sometimes I can even feel my heart beating and it makes me feel like a normal boy, along with my semi on.

A long time RO1 player and a huge fan of the series, so had high expectations. It has some bugs, and it isn't perfect, but the game itself is excellent. Already announced FREE DLC to come. Also two mod teams already hard at work to bring the Pacific and Vietnam versions to life. The future for this game is as bright as ever.

RO2 is an awesome ww2 multiplayer shooter, that is slower paced and more tactical than your average online fps. It also has some fantastic ballistics/gun mechanics.

It's a great game. Yeah, it had a buggy release but I can guarantee that Tripwire will fix almost everything. Plus, they will give us free content with future updates (maps, tanks, etc..) I rate it a 10 because I know when Tripwire is finished with it (they will support for a very long time) it will be amazing.

I know this game doesn't deserve a 10 out of 10. Nevertheless, I decided to put that score since there are a lot of people bashing it without reason.

But I know Tripwire won't let this game die. They are 20 guys working against the clock to bring their vision to life and they won't rest until it's working without major flaws.
Killing Floor and RO1 had many bugs on launch date and now they are completely playable.
I'd also like to point out that BF: BC2 had a non functional server browser on launch.

I'd say that the game easily deserves an 8 out of 10 in its current state. I'd also like to point out that it's 23.99 in many places (or 29.99-35.99 in others) which is a lot less than 49.99 (standard price for PC games).

You'll never want to play a "call of duty" or "Battlefield" ever again after playing RO2. And all of this for a reasonable price and lots of free DLCs coming soon.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is a refreshing change of pace for the FPS genre. It brings the genre back to it's 2000-2005 roots to the WW2 era, and merges it with today's technology to provide an authentic, immersive, beautiful experience. This game plays differently than your popular shooters like Call of Duty and Halo, so it's not for everyone. It's definitely catered to a more hardcore audience than most mainstream titles, but still offers game modes for gamers with all tastes. The combat in this game is fast paced, but realistic. There are minimal hud elements, like no crosshairs for instance. Weapon aiming is quite unique, too. Weapons don't shoot in the center of the screen, but rather the weapon moves with the mouse until you get closer to the edge of the screen, when your camera will shift. For anyone who's played the Arma series, the aiming is similar to that. Weapon and bullet physics are also very realistic. Firing SMGs in more than 4-5 round bursts will make it impossible to hit a target further than 40-50 meters away. The game also features a full ballistics simulation. Bullet drop and travel time must be taken into account when shooting.

The game features HUGE maps with up to 64 players. The vehicles in the game feature full 3d-modeled interiors, where players must realistically navigate the inside of the vehicle to move to each position. No more instantly teleporting from the driver seat to the machine gunner seat, for instance. Vehicles also feature realistic damage models. You can take out a tank's engine by hitting it with an armor piercing round, or even kill the gunner with a well placed shot to the gunner's seat, rendering the tank useless until another player takes over the position.

The graphics and sound design are all top notch in this game. The performance was a little shaky in the beta, but in just two weeks time they have greatly improved framerates and reduced lag. Red Orchestra 2 is a must have for anyone who is a fan of first person shooters who want a more authentic experience than mainstream shooters will give you. It is a game that game developers should take notes on when designing games in the future. Tripwire Interactive put a lot of hard work with limited resources into this game, and the result is something extraordinary.

A good game either admits it's a game and only includes realistic things as an afterthought after it's gotten all the fun stuff finished, or it doesn't admit it's a game and immerses you. Don't tell Red Orchestra 2 that it's a game. It is the very end of a spectrum. It's a window into WWII-era Russia you can only look through on your computer.

Wimpy grandma's PCs need not apply here, the game's performance tweaks was changing, for better or worse, almost every other day for the beta and at release time its still not right. Yes the game crashes from time to time and on lower end PCs with low memory will crash more often than that. Yes sometimes your view occasionally flip out. Your bullets occasionally do not count. There's a plethora of UI bugs Etc etc. That doesn't matter. The game even in its "not quite done but here you can play anyways" state is absolutely fantastic. This is by far THE most realistic yet inviting first person shooter in every respect and steps up and improves greatly in its mechanics over the original Red Orchestra. Tripwire isn't EA. They don't ship the game and call it done and already stated that it's not done, there's more to add, and you'll get more (not even considering community content). But the ship date came around (after 5 years in development!) and this is what they have. Enjoy it. It's a multiplayer game, so enjoy its strengths, and enjoy the new bar for PC games. Expand

I noticed about 12 patches since September. Both of our systems run RO2 both of our RO2 games rock solid - and we can now run them at the highest resolution & on the highest quality settings (except shadows on high) since 2 months ago so the patches were pretty effective. The multiplayer of Red Orchestra 2 offers various interesting debate points about the realistic online shooter breed: praised by many, played by few. Forgetting some bugs and the (hopefully) soon to be addressed performance hiccups, Red Orchestra 2 is definitely an entertaining product that, online-wise, will guarantee months of brutal fun.

If you think both Battlefield and Call of Duty are too exaggerated and unrealistic, and feel Counter-Strike is too soft, Red Orchestra 2 might be the game for you. It doesn't appeal to us, though.
