    I played this game a year ago and it was the greatest gaming experience of my life. I am playing it again a year later on my PC with much improved graphics and controls and I have to say that my initial feelings about this game have not changed at all. This is the best game I have ever played. Looks like a lot of people are angry about the poor optimization and bugs and crashes, but myI played this game a year ago and it was the greatest gaming experience of my life.     no frame drops at all at fullHD. What rigs do all these people have? Or why do they buy 1440p or 4k monitors powered by bad rigs.... don't get it.

    I played this game a little on the PS4, but never really got stuck in before I bought the PC version in the last quarter of 2021. Initially, I felt that there was a little too much "quick time event" over the game play, but once the world opened up and Arthur's story got going, I was hooked. I saw a few graphical glitches, and one or two mission bugs, but mostly my 60 hours were spent inI played this game a little on the PS4, but never really got stuck in before I bought the PC version in the last quarter of 2021.     This game is one of the best games ever made. It stands the test of time and still is the most impressive game ever made. There is so much you can do and it's so well done. Games released at the end of 2020 don't hold a candle to RDR2. I recommend it highly.

    Always blows me away when people's "drawback" is you can't max out all settings 100% at 4k and get a high frame rate. Don't they know most of the time in 99% of games it requires some tweaking. RDR2 is an amazingly gorgeous game, one of the best graphical games ever made with probably the highest production values ever seen. It's better than the console version in every way and clearly a classic.

    By far, the Single Greatest PC game EVER! I was totally blown aways with the story, action, level of detail and quality. Very immersive. Graphics like nothing else out there, an exceptional sound track, character development was phenomenal and the most cinematic game I’ve experienced. Value for the money in a 70hr single player game alone exceeds anything of any game before it.

    The absolute disaster that Cyberpunk 2077 is gave me some newfound appreciation for this masterpiece.
    There is literally very few things that these 2 games can even be compared with.
    All the bad scores in here are directed at the online part of it, which should have always been a separate product.     I think some infinite huinting or bounty system would give endless playability to this game, without having to play online, which IMO ruins the immersion, I dont want to play this online, ever.    … Expand

    There are bad games, average games, good games, very good games and epic games. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the epic game. this is the kind of game that deserves 11 out of 10 score. This is the game every gamer should experience. Absolute epic single player adventure.

I am playing this game on Ryzen 3600 with AMD RX 5500XT 8GB and my PC can run the game at 60FPS @ 1080p with custom settings (medium to ultra). Speaking of 60FPS I used to play this game a little bit on PS4 Pro and PC version with at 60FPS makes for so much better game play.    … Expand

    So many years later, it's pretty crazy to think that people had technical problems at launch. This is the best optimized game I've ever played. No other game can look so amazingly good (especially the lighting effects, breathtaking!) and keep the framerate so stable, in such a gigantic world.     Respect to every single person that was involved in creating this unique and excellent MASTERPIECE.

    Deep.

    Wide.

    Brilliant in every single detail. And there are thousands of details.

    I was just thinking today...if they would say to give them more money so they can create another title that is this good - I would give it to them.

    I am glad I gave that money and supported this title that fulfilled and went far beyond in every aspect of my expectations.

    And I am certain I will NEVER preorder any single game after the experience with Ubisoft, EA...and those other companies.

    The game had a bad start on PC from Day 1. But I had issues not in the first week but only on second, after the patch. And then soon after everything worked flawless on the technical side.

    I came here immediately after ending credits and I can say that in whole playthrough of some 150 hours I encountered something that could be called a bug - not more than 5 times.

    ...and the game gives you thousands of encounters and details on every corner.

    Graphics out of this world and far beyond.

    Optimization after few pathces is great, but this is a hardware killer title that will shine the brightest in near future.

    Audio - great on 5,1 or headphones - so many different sounds playing at same time.

    Gameplay - most advanced gameplay mechanics to date, needs time to settle, but very intuitive.

    Controls - overwhelming at start but after a while feel natural and enjoyable in every aspect.

    Story - like 5 best Westerns you watched combined and multiplied by 10, truly the best part of an game that has best parts wherever you look. Unique experience. Thrilling.

    Buy it.

    Play it.

    Enjoy it.

    Даже не смотря на не совсем "гладкий" запуск на ПК, ставлю 10 из 10. Такие игры-штучный товар, особенно в эпоху КОД и Асасинов. БРАВО РОКСТАР!    В игре великолепно все!     All the bad reviews are not about but game, but about the launch experience. It's non-sense to give a game like this a bad review just because of a short term problem.

    10/10 here.
    This is BY FAR the BEST game I've ever played. Nothing seems to get even close to what Rockstar Games did this time. Red Dead Redemption II is a MASTERPIECE.

    one of my favorite games of all time, amazing story and attention to detail. Looks gorgeous and plays just fine. The complexity is punishing on the hardware for sure but it's a living world.

    What can you do? Let yourself be hired by Rockstart to show you skills ...next realease should be perfect than.

With an old i7 3770, a GTX 1060 and 16 GB Ram my FPS were around the 50-60 mark on medium-high settings, some sliders even on ultra (1080p). I would consider this perfectly fine given my specs. I believe a CPU capable of hyperthreading is strongly recommended, though.

But other than that, game provides tons of future proof graphical settings to tinker with, and when properly configured runs quite well even on older cards like rx580.

    The PC version works really well. First I had crashes on startup which was caused by Bitdefender Advanced Threat Detection. Adding an exception for the game solved the problem. The game runs really well on my 2080 Ti. Playing on 4k with Ultra settings and around 40 fps.

    You can safely ignore the trolls who complain about the game not running at 60 fps in 4k with Ultra settings. The    The PC version works really well. It seems a lot of people with expensive hardware have had a lot of trouble with performance and crashing. I started playing on the day it released on my stock FX8350 and slightly overclocked GTX970...I have not had the game crash on me yet in 100 hours. The world is gorgeous, huge, and diverse. The characters and story are absolutely epic. The mechanics are intuitive and not overdone. Best $60 I've spent on a video game in years, but maybe I'm just a cowboy that was born 100 years too late? Good on Rockstar for bringing this one to PC, I couldn't be happier with it.     Algo para resumir este juego es que es un 'western simulator" una vez entres en el juego te vas a convertir en un vaquero de finales del siglo XIX, todas las armas recreadas como las de la    No sé que decir de este juego, para mi es el mejor juego de la generación, tanto gráficamente, como en historia, como en contenido. La cantidad de detalles que mete Rockstar a sus juegos es enfermiza.

    Algo para resumir este juego es que es un 'western simulator" una vez entres en el juego te vas a convertir en un vaquero de finales del siglo XIX, todas las armas recreadas como las de la época con un tremendo detalle salvo algunas licencias que no habrán podido conseguir en el nombre (ese rifle Lancaster es el mítico Winchester). Todo el tema de la recolección y crafting está bien construido, la caza es muy realista y tienes tu compendio que hace las veces de "pokedex" de los animales que vas cazando.

    From what I’ve heard the pc launch was poor I’m sure but after waiting a month the game runs great and is still just as phenomenal in every way as the console with even more options that feels like it took time to add conveniences that a pc version take advantage of. Don’t let the launch user reviews push you away from the game that is now gold standard for open world games!

    I think it's the best display of player freedom I've experienced in a game. You can play it exactly as you want to. Go hunting, fishing, exploring. Visit small towns, big towns, cabins in the woods. Towns burned to the ground. People building houses that actually get built as time passes in the game. There's also a smorgasbord of comedic, shocking and harrowing random encounters to deal with. The game never feels boring or empty. It's the one game where I'd rather ride to the opposite side of the map for the 50th time, than I'd use fast travel. You can fast travel a bit later in the game. But I rarely do! I simply enjoy just riding and stumbling upon weird stuff I can experience.

    I got no problems so far, well, decrypting after preload for 1,5 hours was a pain in the as but who cares, the game works fine.

    I, like many others, bought this game upon release. I put about 40 hours into it before I bailed. It’s not that it was a bad game, it just felt boring to me. I didn’t “get it”. But, in June of 2019, I started over on the PS4. Since then, I have put over 1000 hours into both the story mode and online. I have 100% in story mode and I haven’t played any other game since. For about 6I, like many others, bought this game upon release. I put about 40 hours into it before I bailed. It’s not that it was a bad game, it just felt boring to me. I didn’t “get it”. But, in June of 2019, I started over on the PS4. Since then, I have put over 1000 hours into both the story mode and online. I have 100% in story mode and I haven’t played any other game since. For about 6 years, I was playing exclusively FromSoftware games as they were the only games that held my attention. Somewhere after a few dozen hours, everything just clicks. I just get lost in the world. At this point, I can navigate with only a compass. I understand why so many gave up and thought it was boring. For those folks, if you have ANY interest in video games, give it another try. It has earned the top spot in my mind that was previously held by Final Fantasy VII since 1997.     This generation’s game is one of the best games ever released. I recommend it. It’s a complete failure in terms of optimization. This is a repetition of the situation with GTA4 in 2008, but this should not affect the evaluation of the game itself, RG will fix all the problems.

The play the game on 1440 resolution and turn it up to ultra and have not noticed any screen tearing, or frame rate drops at all. The game is also one of the best stories Ive evern experienced and the world is alive. Game is a 10 and if the scale went up to 11 itOne of the best games I've ever played.     Red dead redemption is a masterpiece, the story is compelling and long which makes it a great value for the money payed. Although there are some points of dull missions and a lot of horse riding the game makes up for that in the gripping story.     Now onto the review of Single player:

    This game is hands down one of the most detailed content loaded games I have seen in a long time, everything just comes together and creates an amazing immersive experience. No DLC is planned for SP and now after playing around 40+ hours I know why, it's loaded down with a huge amount of content in all areas. Hunting & fishing was well designed and fun to do and rewarding, there are a ton of different fish and animal species you can hunt and fish along with those rare legendary critters as well.

    Ridiculous amount of species in this game, from small frogs to giant bears I was very impressed by the amount of detail in the animals and horses. Rockstar has a good way of slowly introducing the game to you and unlocking and progressing in such a realistic and immersive way. The characters are very alive and you can really identify their moods and personality to where the player can create a bond with these characters easily.

    The graphics are stunning, utterly amazing. The original Red Dead was gorgeous, this game surpasses that in every way. The game world is extremely detailed and very polished, best looking most realistic game world I have ever seen guys. It's literally alive around you hearing the birds chirping over head, small and large game squeaking through the woods grazing about and easily getting spooked. Just stand back and observe the game world...it's breathtaking.

    Weapons, gear, tack, ammo, provisions, tools, all of these make a huge comeback form the original. Lots more variants of hunting and fishing gear, and yes you get to fully customize your weapons now which is a fantastic addition. Not to mention customizing your horse now as well.

    Overall I don't give games a 10/10, this game deserves it.

    Sorry to hear about all of the players having technical difficulties starting and playing the game. I run a very lean pc, everything runs off of an NVMe M.2 SSD and that may be why I run so well dunno. But it's just games and my OS that's it. No weirdo programs running in the background. Hopefully people can get this issue resolved cause this a great effing game.    … Expand

    First time playing RDR2. Played it day one and recently beat the story. Now I'm playing it on and off online. I think it's an awesome game, I love it all around. It had a rough launch but within a few days everything was settled. Nothing to cry about really. Maybe it isn't worth it for the console folks, but it was well worth it for a first time player imo

    Gave this game 0 at launch due to the launcher exited unexpected error. So I got a refund then. Today I bought it back and finally got it running, so I give it 10 cause now with the launch problems aside I could finally feel how amazing this game is.

    The PC port isn't perfect, at its release it suffered from numerous problems (including waiting forever for the game to download and install on Steam).     rockstar сделали самую технологичную, красивую(по атмосфере и постановки света), игру в истории человечества, вы можете ненавидеть сеттинг, медлительность, и т.д. но почему игра виновата в том что она в таком сеттинге и из за него она не может быть быстрой и она в трейлерах, и в других медиа структурах говорит о её сеттинге и то что она медленная.     One of the finest stories ever for a game. Beautifully crafted open world that does not feel empty or forced. it all feels organic and truly alive and open. Voice-acting, is crazy good, graphics are the best in the business, It even has a multiplayer mode when there was no need fot it.

This game is unbelievable. Period. Buy it, they fixed a lot of stuff so far. This is the best PC game ever created along with Witcher 3 and Skyrim.     The open world is absolutely magnificent, and no journey through it feels the same, with random events occurring as you travel around. The vast amount of, and variety of, nature and people around the world, reacting to events as they happen, truly bring it to life in a way which I have never experienced in any other open world game, and perhaps any game altogether. Despite the map being smaller than many, including titles such as GTA 5, on horseback it feels so much bigger and more varied than the majority of games in a finite world.

    When I picked up the game at a discount, having heard of how well made it was and browsed a few YouTube clips, I was hesitant, it was a departure from the usual setting of video games I enjoy, and one which I did not enjoy in the past. I would therefore never have imagined the range of emotions which the game would make me feel, nor that I would actually have tears brought to my eyes at one point in the story, not for the story itself, but for the memories it evoked.

    This game has one of, if not the best, open worlds, and has by far the best storyline of any game that I have ever played. I can honestly say that it is the best game I have ever played.    … Expand

    this is the best triple A game on all platforms all the time . yeah on pc there were very problems but . this is a really number one game all the time

    A great game that looks and feels absolutely amazing on a PC. It really is unfortunate that so many people are having issues, and I really hope this gets fixed ASAP. I would be super annoyed if I couldn't play a game I paid for either! Good luck and good speedy bug fix!

    Beautiful game!
    Surely the best graphics on the market. With my rx 580 and the r5 1600 oc I can play it at 1440p at 30fps, with some medium and mostly high/ultra details.

    An absorbing tale that will test your machine and tear ducts. A game that did not suffer from being brought to PC. RDR2 is worth overcoming all the shortcomings, since it is one of the best games of the decade. [Issue#300]

    My biggest warning to anyone considering purchasing RDR2 on PC is that you need to have patience when you set it up. Take the time to go through each graphics option, compare your performance on Vulkan vs. DirectX 12, and tailor the game to your specs. Once you have the game tuned, there’s no better way to experience it than on PC.
