Ravenlok is a great introductory experience for players who might be interested in the action-adventure genre but don’t want to take on the bigger titles in the genre. The story is familiar but mostly works, with some nice characters. The voxel graphics are a big initial draw. The biggest problem for me is the very shallow combat system. But, again, this might actually draw in players who want to battle bosses without encountering any annoying setbacks. Ravenlock is a collection of good ideas and weird choices that fails to deliver on its initial promise.

Ravenlok isn't deep or lengthy, but it's a brief, dreamy foray into the wonders of voxels. It may not last long, but it's a looking glass worth going through.

At just about five hours long, Ravenlok is an enjoyable title with simple gameplay design but stunning setting and voxel graphics.

Ravenlok looks like the fairy tale we've been waiting for for a long time but behind its mesmerizing world. We find a simple and easy game focused on younger gamers.

Ravenlok is not a bad game, but judged on its gameplay, it feels somewhat insubstantial. Those going into the game looking for an engaging and challenging action experience will likely be turned off by its simple and toothless combat and overreliance on fetch quests. That said, for younger gamers or those seeking a more straightforward adventure through a surreal world filled with memorable and strange characters, it’s a decent time, and is worth checking out on those merits.

Beautiful, polished and painfully hollow. Ravenlok’s bones are immaculate, but lack meat or connective tissue.

Ravenlok is a game I desperately wanted to love but, in my short time with it, so many obstacles made that impossible. A fantastical world of whimsy and fantasy is unfortunately betrayed by the dull rendition of the Wonderland story and the empty characters who dwell within it. By far the biggest weakness, though, is that, in a desire to be more approachable, the combat is a spammy mess without depth, challenge or complexity and it taints the package. While Ravenlok may be beautiful it's only skin-deep and doesn't hide the strained, weak game below.

Simply put, Ravenlok is a perfect game for beginners of the genre. Its simplicity in gameplay and story makes it a good starting point. But for any experienced players, it will be just a quick, short and quite forgettable romp.

More of the same shovelware for thie service. This game feels like a cringe developer self insert passion projects . Gameplay is either walking around talking to boring cringy npcs or mindlessly button massing. Combat is a fail , xtra skills are pointless, just mash x. More game pass fodder, more wasted money that could go to a game the majority of xbox gamers would actually play. Full Review »
