Race for the Galaxy is a good, if not brilliant, digital remake of a popular card game. It’s not buggy or confusing, it’s got all the cards and it does all the hard work of setup and tracking the game state for you, and the game itself is just like the original, which is considered a well-made and established head-to-head economic card game. Fans of the original card game, or card games in general: get this one.

The game has a steep learning curve and trying to produce on a windfall world and all the different type of world seems overly complicated without adding any more depth or fun. Streamlining this would make a better game in my opinion. There are dozens of confusing icons It takes a lot of mental energy to even learn the game but it is worth the effort. The computer AI is very strong. The balance is a little off as going for a military victory by itself will rarely be successful. Still, it is one of the best computer board game adaptations out there. For me, it is second only to Lords of Waterdeep. Expand
