Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a very unique and interesting game with enough gameplay to make you want to boot it up at random to check a few people, just to keep humanity safe. It does have some small issues with soft-lock missions, but that’s not really worth mentioning when you’re having so much fun.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check turns the classic zombie theme on its head by putting the player in the shoes of a health inspector at a military checkpoint. The gameplay revolves around inspecting survivors, diagnosing symptoms, and making often irrevocable moral decisions, with clear references to Papers, Please. The idea is original and the immersion works, but the structure tends to become repetitive as the hours go by. The action and base-building sections break up the routine without ever being outstanding. The experience is penalized by an overly rigid evaluation system and a technical implementation that is merely functional. An interesting release, more for its concept than for its gameplay depth.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a fun, repeatable, relaxing time. Few games let you stare so much before blowing a hot load of lead directly into the target of your gaze.

Simulation with an unusual zombie scenario, which nevertheless leaves many opportunities untapped.

In a world where the genre of simulators is as broad as jobs are in the real world“Quarantine Zone: The Last Check manages to stand out. The core gameplay loop of checking for symptoms and getting rid of infected as well as managing your checkpoint is fun, engaging and addictive. Unfortunately the rest of the game suffers from rather weak graphics and sounds as well as hard to navigate menus that dull the general enjoyment of the game.

It’s a unique offering with enough to keep you engaged through a campaign, and with different endings depending on how you play the game, there’s a welcome portion of replayability too.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a unique approach to the zombie genre, and while it can become repetitive, I still had a lot of fun playing.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check stands out for its concept and emotional impact, making the player feel the weight of deciding others’ fate. Weaker in variety, narrative, and technical polish, it lingers more for its discomfort than its game design.

Have you ever wanted to be the guy in a zombie movie who holds a scanner up to someone's face and gets to decide their fate? Then you might enjoy a few interesting hours playing Quarantine Zone. However, aside from the scanning mechanic, the game lacks complexity, variety, and challenge.

Deciding the fate of those who have escaped the zombies is a significant responsibility that should not be underestimated. Most importantly, it offers a fresh take on the zombie theme. The developers have cleverly combined simulation and base management elements with an action mini-game.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check struggles with technical issues and inconsistent challenges. Glitches, visual drops, and clunky mechanics pull you out of the experience, and the game doesn’t always push you to adapt or think in surprising ways. Though it shines in giving players a real sense of authority, a reactive world, and satisfying systems that reward careful observation and decision-making, its current state is difficult to recommend. However, fans of puzzle-management simulations who enjoy moral ambiguity and quiet tension can still have a compelling and worthwhile experience despite its rough edges.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a more-than-competent zombie border security game. It invites players to focus on the small details, providing enough strategic options and management systems to feel rewarding for the player. The game stumbles, or perhaps shambles, in its implementation of certain systems, not always feeling like a cohesive or perfectly thought-out experience. With more depth added to the character interactions and less focus on perfecting security checks, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check could have risen to new heights.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a very focused proposition, but one that puts you in a highly original role within the whole zombie imagery. It’s not perfect and can quickly fall into repetition, but it offers an uncomfortable, tense, absurd, and fun experience in equal measure.

QZTLC is a well-executed mix of horror and bureaucracy. If you’re intrinsically motivated, it’s an absolute delight. But, expansion on the core gameplay might’ve helped it feel a little less repetitive.

For a game that you can snag at a reasonable price tag of of £17, there's plenty that Quarantine Zone: The Last Check does right, so if you find yourself somewhat curious as to whether you have what it takes to man a screening checkpoint, then you won't go too wrong with this game.

Just like a real-life job, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check quickly becomes repetitive due to its lack of novelty. The low variety of missions, the personality-less NPCs, and the fact that all the resources needed for evaluation are introduced too quickly make it tedious when played in long sessions. Still, it’s an interesting management and simulation title that could benefit greatly from more development time and resources to grow. The idea is solid and can be entertaining, but it lacks an extra spark to truly stand out.

Papers, Please! meets zombie apocalypse: Despite wooden shooter interludes and technical sloppiness, the bitterly wicked charm of this thankless checkpoint assignment is convincing.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check has an original concept that offers solid entertainment, but lacks the depth to truly keep you hooked. It shines most in short sessions, as monotony and technical issues start to creep in over time. With future patches in mind, it remains a fun experience but best enjoyed in moderation.

Some clever and grisly medical examination systems, but not enough base management and side activities to remain engaging for long.

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check offers a handful of interesting ideas compared to traditional simulation games, but its strengths never extend beyond the initial premise. Brigada Games’ title plays all its cards early on, only to struggle in later sessions with repetitive and shallow mechanics. A more solid framework and more demanding challenges could have alleviated the gameplay’s tedious nature, but in its current state it is hard to recommend, especially at its asking price.
