Projected Dreams is a good puzzle game with a unique take on the genre. The shadow work starts off pretty easy, but the developers find ways to add variety and increase the challenge level. The rooms where shadows are projected are also fun to interact with, especially when hunting for a new cassette to play. The story and graphics are pleasant enough but don’t stand out. The shadow puzzles are the main reason to engage with Projected Dreams, especially for players who are interested in looking for multiple solutions for each album photo. The entire experience is even more interesting when playing with a kid who hasn’t yet had the experience of shadow play in the real world.

If you enjoy simple gameplay with mechanics that give you the freedom to get creative, there’s a lot to love here. If you like slow-burn storytelling that’s not afraid to be both uplifting and deeply poignant, there’s definitely a lot to love here. And if you find nostalgic references about the cruel, uncaring march of time weirdly comforting… well, you might want to talk to someone. But also—you’re going to love this game. Projected Dreams caught me off guard. For such a simple game, it moved me more than I expected. And I think if you give it even half a chance, it’ll quietly touch your heart, too.

Projected Dreams is a curious puzzle of light and shadows and it's possible to notice the team's effort in making it so each chapter brought a new gimmick to add variety to the challenges. However, the way the game handles physics and how it limits object control is frustrating and there are many issues that make it not a highlight within the genre.

Projected Dreams is a no-stress puzzle game. The dreamy music, paired with the beautiful aesthetic, makes it a joy to experience. Pick it up and play whenever you feel like it, and get ready for the world to sweep you away. It’s blissful, and I hope to see more games like this in the future. [Highly Recommended]
