If you're coming in looking for a storyline rich in atmosphere and style, something bathed in immersion, something fresh, you will not be disappointed.
  2. A fun, visually captivating game.

As a whole, Core has once again stepped off the beaten path to give a gameplay experience that few other games can touch.
  4. A few minor annoyances, like poor enemy AI and some puzzles that seem almost too difficult keep it from a higher score, but if you’re looking for a game you can invest some time in and not feel like you came away with nothing, welcome to Eden.
  5. As a shooter it is lacking, as an adventure it has intrigue and numerous challenges.
  6. Though it too often strays into an underdeveloped and unsatisfying combat system, when it sticks to adventure, it's quite successful.
  7. I got hooked on the neat puzzle-solving, just as if I was playing one of my favorite classic adventures, and that alone can be a rewarding enough gaming experience.
  8. The attempt to put an emphasis on "adventure" in this "action/adventure" is most commendable; as is the use of a party with different skills.
  9. An uneven experience -- above average when it comes to puzzles and level design, and below average when it comes to combat and artificial intelligence.
  10. While everything doesn't quite pull together as well as it should, there is enough here to interest anyone that enjoys cunning design and challenging puzzles.
  11. Delivers a nice diversion for those who like to sit back and solve some quiet puzzles without having to deal with an engrossing story or hectic action.

It’s not as polished as we’d like it to be, but it still has that “one more level” draw that keeps you going past midnight. [Jan 2002, p.90]

So I just finished playing through “Project Tedium”…wait, make that Project Eden. [Feb 2002, p.69]

Exhausting, repetitious gameplay. [Feb 2002, p.100]

Just what I've been looking for, a FPS style game that taxes the brain and lets you play with a friend through the main story.
