    The game was so bad, I needed to write a review. It is not just bad, it's infuriating.
    Beyond the great graphics and the superb physics of the ball and the lack of licencing (that we all came to accept), this game has one basic flaw. It is clearly made to ruin the fun of the players.

    Beyond the great graphics and the superb physics of the ball and the lack of licencing (that we all came to accept), this game has one basic flaw. It is clearly made to ruin the fun of the players.

    The A.I: Your players' A.I is terrible. The will constantly hide behind enemy players so they won't get a pass, they will fall back in a counter-attack so you are left alone, they will follow the ball for meters without taking it, they will see it pass right through them. Their movements are absurd, they will call for a pass, although they are ten meters behind the offside line, and many more. If you can think something go wrong, your team players can make it go wrong.

    The Balance: Is out of the window: I liked the "adapt mechanic" of the game. E.g, if a player of yours gets the ball a lot, the enemy will focus on him, forcing you to find new ways to score. But the nerfing and buffing is unforfivable: Say you score a goal. The enemy team will get an invisible buff and suddenly players with a rating of 69 dribble better than Neymar and scoring in the next minute, in their first attempt.

    Scripting: Is totally there. If the game does not want you to win, you won't win. The goalkeeper will block every shoot, from every distance and every angle. Your players will miss the most certain of shoots. If you shoot straight the keeper will get it, if you aim for a corner, you will miss by a fraction. In the end you will have a 20(15) ration on shoots and the enemy a 2(1), and you will lose 0-1.

    Conclusion: You are not fighting the opponent, you are fighting the system, you are fighting the game itself. And when the game wants it, is a losing battle. Which is infuriating. The wanted realism, so the players won't win with a great margin, but they ended up with a bad game with no realism, because of the scripting, the mechanics and the bad A.I.    … Expand

    I just do not know how they menage to push a solid demo out and then the game is broken soulless and unplayable.

    4. Graphics are horrid I don't understand how in 2018 this still looks worse than games with 300+ characters in the scene buildings trees watter etc. Looks like 2014 game or something.
    5. Lack of any kind of dynamic game play all teams players are just stats none feels like they should.
    6. Commentary deserves -20 same as players they are mentally disabled .
    7. Passing, player movement, responsiveness, shooting feels like B team of mentally disabled para-Olympic matchstick throwers

    it's amazing how they were able to DECREASE the quality even more if you compare it to Pro Evo 2018. The Terrible AI, the horrible online play and let's not forget the laughable commentary. (srsly, it repeats itself every 30 seconds or so)

    Specificaly the worst problem of this game is the AI
    -goes full rampage and injuries your BAL player every single game
    - ridiculous scripted plays, you tought fifa was scripted? play master league

    I know fifa's horrible as well so us soccer fans are screwed either way, but at least Ea has the courtesy of letting us controll the player in more than 8 FREAKING DIRECTIONS, YOU HEAR THAT KONAMI?

    just play the demo if you want to feel it for yourself

    Last patch ruined the game, totally unplayable. Japanese people better draw manga, not develop soccer games. Fifa is even worst than the last years so this year better save moneys and keep them... hoping that anew company will develop soccer games

    Great gameplay, great graphics, having so much fun playing this game! Once I got the option file installed, it is so good (every stadium including all the championship ones). So happy to have chosen PES over Fifa this year. Been a very long time since I owned a PES.

    Master league is amazing! Puts career mode to shame. The online side to this game is pretty good too, had a couple of    Great gameplay, great graphics, having so much fun playing this game! Once I got the option file installed, it is so good (every stadium including all the championship ones). So happy to have chosen PES over Fifa this year. Been a very long time since I owned a PES.

    amazing game

    the greatest improving is how well it works online

    good solid football simulation

    there are great patches out already, so to get the full licenced game it takes just 5 min

    thanks konami, keep up the good work!

    Pay no heed to the tons of salty bitter whinging reviews for this game. PES 2019 is as close to perfection in a football game as there has ever been.

    Before I continue, I don't play myClub, Master League, BAL (if it is even still in). I play offline and online pVp, and offline v AI. Granted, the game is not without it's cons: 1. Yes, it is still scripted. No escaping that. Sure,    Pay no heed to the tons of salty bitter whinging reviews for this game. PES 2019 is as close to perfection in a football game as there has ever been.

    Before I continue, I don't play myClub, Master League, BAL (if it is even still in). I play offline and online pVp, and offline v AI.

    Granted, the game is not without it's cons:

    1. Yes, it is still scripted. No escaping that. Sure, there are things you can do to circumnavigate it when the AI isn't pushing the game in your favour, but if the AI has it in for you, then god help you! That is the case in both offline and online game.

    2. The licensing of the major clubs and tournaments in Europe is in tatters....but a simple option file mostly sorts all that out.

    3. Always On DRM! Fk U Konami u dirty mofo sonsovwh0res. Most games with this feature, I refuse to buy, but being a long time Pro Evo fan, I put up with it, but with a very bad taste in the mouth.

    4. First two weeks after release and loggin on was a nightmare, but this seems to have been fixed now.

    5. Commentary, meh, but who gives a fk.

    6. Referees are a nightmare.

    Now for the Pros:

    1. New first touch mechanics, combined with judicious use of RT,RB, and R3 etc, opens up the level of control in this game to a whole new level on anything that has come before this.

    2. The physics of the actual ball are more lively and more accurate than ever. Really adds to the whole 'anything can happen' feel.

    3. The way the different strategies can be implemented lead to a huge variety in ways that you can set your side up to play, and actually have them play on the pitch. You will know when you have got it right in this respect, and when things aren't quite right, you will feel it, see it, and have the option of tweeking it to bring about the result you want.....and it works.

    4. The shooting is fkn tremendous! Some of the screamers u will score will have you utterly beside yourself.

    5. Aerial balls and 50/50, 60/40 balls have been completely opened up, allowing for a much greater degree of control and influence over the 'hustle and tustle' aspect of the game, beyond these situations being merely decided by the AI positioning your men in a certain way, and/or scripted animations. I would refer back to point 1. here, as Super Cancel plays a big function here, in addition to the new improved gameplay mechanics.

    6. Spammy goals are far far less frequent thanks to the vastly improved defensive AI, and the very adequate positional defending controls, which allow both for flowing creative football to be played, whilst allowing for tight defending. Online, the most common attempt on goal is still the cut-back/pass along 6- yard box, but keep your discipline, and keep the runner covered, 9/10, you will prevent the attack.

    7. Goalkeepers are hard to fault this year. Sure, there are still some howlers that go in, but I am ok with that. In general, you have to work pretty hard to beat them (unless you get through 1-1).

    8. Online game is for me, in the UK, practically indistinguishable from offline experience!

    There are plenty other good points I could mention, just as there are a few niggles. But all in all, in terms of pure gamplay, video game soccer has never been this good, and who knows, may not be so good again for a few years as what makes a good Pro Evo or FIFA isn't just about the complexity of the engine, which generally improves every year, but about balance and getting each aspect of the game, just right. PES 2019 does all of this.    … Expand

    great player individuality, each team feels different ( finally) and you have to use different tactics.
    better online, and this is massive as was the only area where fifa was better
    now you can play online without lag...

    Horrible scripting in each match.
    AI always plays like a god and makes no mistakes (it doesn't matter who you play against Barca or Paok).
    Practically no fouls.

    POS 2019 (PIECE OF **** 2019.
    Don't buy this game and don't buy FIFA because football simulators are dead in this year.

    Usualy (normaly) it takes time to figure out how to play new PES: how to score, how to defend etc. And I must say so for 2 last year I CAN'T figure out how to play. Its not for how bad I'm, I know I'm not. It's about poor dificult balancing, horrible scripting, "fixin" old mechanics that worked and puting gameplay changes for the sake of changes.

    Why I can not outdrible opponent, when AI can? Why I can not outrun opponent, when AI can? AI can score all goles he like: upper/lowel cross - check; through pas and shot - check; solo drible - check... Any of that for me - is struggle or (more often) an accident. "The pitch is ours"? - No its not! Not since 2016. AI have you where and when he want you to be, nothing you could do.

    You wanted to remove patterns for goals, so they could be more diverce, more interresting. You remove opportunities for creating that patterns... and give nothing in return. Back then we score a bunch of identical goals, now we score none. You create a challenge, but not a fun one. Its frustruating, annoying.

    I could play and have fun, but instead I write this, 'cause fun I can not have whith this game. And i think I'm not the only one on this.    … Expand

    Master league is unplayable. Konami confirmed that whenever a european club buys a player from outside Europe and vice versa, the teams start selling buying and selling players around wihtout any justification. After the first month, half the teams have 14 players in their squad and attackers picked as defenders. It took KONAMI a week to acknoweledge the    Amazing... disappointment.

    It took KONAMI a week to acknoweledge the broken PC servers and 10 days to fix them.

    This year was suppossed to be the highlight year, with early release (that was the disaster) and a lot of marketing. Konami decided to spend money in unknown leages (Thai league anyone?) instead of spending their budget to fix their 90s UI and menus and of course all the bugs.

    AI is terrible, only low crosses, no long shots, no running with the ball no dribbles. The goalkeepers will never come out from their posts on an one-to-one situation.

    Nice graphics, nice ball physics. This game could have been a 9.5/10 and maybe it will be in a couple of months. But right now it doesnt even worth 20 EUR, let alone the full price you need to pay.    … Expand

    They solved the server connection problem... they also ruined the online gaming... now You can lose against the worst players and winnign against the most skilled ones! They followed the Fifa thread so many kids can continue on spending daddy's real money... dreaming of becoming good players :)

B'cos what really matters is what happens on the pitch, and Konami has just declared they're the best at emulating a real soccer match.

    Players move so realistically it's amazeballs, and the ball physics is just a gem! The graphics alone makes my eyes sparkle with joy!

    Only registered for this review. PC players are not able to log in to the servers.

    Even if you want to play offline there is huge problems with salaries,transfers and AI.

    DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!

    Contextual animation and excellent ball physics bring the thrill of passing to life. Goalkeepers are more lifelike and less prone to errors. Visible fatigue changes the dynamic of matches. Increased physicality makes defending more active and satisfying. BUT The lack of top-level league licences is frustrating. Commentary is disjointed and tedious

    Great football game this time with licenced Belgian competition and career mode. Superior gameplay as always. Players are correct for the Belgian league. No more need to buy FIFA.

    Cons: 1-goal keepers are super good especially if they are 88 and above(Buffon is a god),they block amazing headers and very bullet shots unless you play a simple scripted play like pass and shoot no matter how slow the ball is,it goes in or you have to be in the 10 yards even if keeper blocks it,it some how reflect and goes    Pros:

    Loss of UEFA licenses has some Impact. Gameplay is improved from 2018 but requires few patches. Turf looks better than 2018 but closer looks shows still cheap textures and 2D view during gameplay ruins the experience..again!

    It's difficult to sing the praises of the core gameplay as much as last year. That's especially the case as the AI isn't as sensible as it was previously, with too many reckless challenges and questionable keeper decisions. PES 2019 underperforms, despite its quality.

    On the pitch, no one gets the better of PES 2019, apart from that there is still a lot to do and we are still waiting for online modes.

    Smooth gameplay, a variety of animations, and interesting game modes take the sting off of the lack of licensed teams. FIFA may wear the crown, but PES is a worthy rival.
