The idea of little ninja robots is flashy, and thanks to the various maps and game modes it is really nice to play. You will need some time to get used to the gameplay, but then you will have fun.
-
A different title, but not an accomplished one. The gameplay is too simple and poor, leading to loads of boring situations. Considering the originality and the budget price, you could still consider it, but try before buying.
-
Our concern is that the game doesn't quite have the depth to sustain interest over a period of months, and an apparent uninterest in providing anything other than straight combat will compound the problem. And yet, at US$9.99, Plain Sight boasts a price that's as minimalist as its visual style. As such, a game this novel can only be a tempting prospect.
-
Truly a unique and enjoyable game. An interesting risk/reward system that permeates all facets of the gameplay breeds hectic, brawl-happy fun. With some polish and a better front-end experience, Plain Sight would approach must-buy status.
-
The fact that you don't get a single point until you've blown yourself up gives Plain Sight some pretty stressful gameplay. It's a compelling balancing act; you literally become a bigger target with every kill.
-
It has its flaws but this is still one of the most interesting and original multiplayer games of the year.
-
Plain Sight is a cool game. The concept is great and jumping through space with a robot ninja is good fun.
-
It's certainly the kind of game that will develop a small cult following, but not one that will appeal to the majority of online action gamers.
-
It's fun, fresh and challenging but lacks a certain refinement. If you don't get motion sickness from video games, you'll find a lot to love about this budget-priced multiplayer experience.
-
PC Gamer UKThere's a brilliant tension between risk and reward. [July 2010, p.105]
-
Plain Sight is a simple, fun multiplayer game that suffers from a low population base and shoddy maneuverability, but makes up for it with a cheap price tag. It isn't for everyone, but if you love ninjas and robots - with a sprig of Godzilla - you will have a good time.
-
I want to like Plain Sight, I really do. It's effortlessly cool and carries off a unique concept with style and flair. Sadly though, I never found myself enjoying it all that much.
-
Quotation forthcoming.
-
BoomtownI did not like playing Plain Sight in the slightest.
