Individually, PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe can be a chore. But with a group of friends, the game can feel like a sport as you cooperatively chase down goals and attempt to clean up the dystopian world of Junktown.

PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe is a decent enough game on your own, but playing with others makes the most out of the various mechanics.

The concept behind PixelJunk Scrappers Deluxe is good. Mixing a beat-'em-up with garbage collection seems like a strange concept, but it all works thanks to the pacing of each segment and the simplicity of the mechanics. It's the little things — the paltry move set, the small opening for successful garbage collection, the need to repeat levels, the ease with which one can lose track of where they are — that pile up to drag down the experience a peg. It is still worth checking out for the semi-distinct nature of it all, but be sure to temper your expectations.

Moreover, according to a similar scheme with "Pixeljunk Monsters", each island is closed from the player by a grindwall, you will definitely have to replay the same levels, trying to collect more garbage (up to 3 stars), and also complete 3 additional tasks, which in total give 1 additional star (Although it's cool that for each mission steam give an achievement). But thanks to this, you can learn all the mechanics that the developers have prepared for you at the level, just keep in mind that the game is stretched in this way for more than 10 hours.
There is a little physics when you pick up a mountain of garbage and it starts to swing from gravity, but this is quite primitive, they could make something more about the weight in game, for example, at 1 level you have to stand on the button that opens the gate, the more weight you do it, the faster it will open, but on another level there are breakable slatted floors that break after a while after being stepped on it, no matter how many times and how to step - they will still fall by one timer, why didn't the developers make it weight dependent?
Also, the price is killing the game, i should note that it actually already came out 3 years ago on Apple Arcade, this isn`t even a pure new game, as I thought at first, just an extended port for the PC.
Nevertheless, if you are ready to put up with all the above disadvantages, I would still recommend that you try it, core mechanics of picking up mountains of garbage and throwing them into a moving garbage truck - quite sticky and never get bored, you always try to get as much garbage as possible into your stack, and it always falls apart on the second dozen items in the hands)
By the way, I must say that there are initially 4 locations in the game, they all don`t differ much from each other (although the latter has an interesting puzzle mechanic), and when you think that it’s already over, you pass the boss, a secret 5th location pops up on the map, which pissed me off at first, but, all of a sudden - it's beautiful, a colorful bright location about a casino, it's easy to grind - it doesn't choke, an interesting boss in the final, at the end there are definitely the most worthwhile levels of the game.
All in all, you can have fun with friends for a couple of hours (which you can invite for free through remote play), there are always not enough cooperative games, and farming trash is never get bored, such is our nature, peoples likes to grind some garbage)
