    P5R is absolute gem of a game. Fantastic story, great graphics, unique and memorably characters. Game play is really solid and for a turn based jrpg feels really satisfying which is hard to achieve. This is one of those games that will be remembered in years to come and its unique art style will make it easily re playable in the future.

    The only downside from making this a 10/10 game is that after spending 100hrs in the game the combat can become bit repetitive once you figure out how to handle specific enemies and fusion system is hard to keep track of and would really need some QoL features in future installments of this series.    … Expand

    The beginning of this game is fantastic. I'm pretty sure you can take any JRPG and beat the first half of Persona 5. However, the second half's banality and unappealing bosses are a definite downside.

    Things I disliked:
    - The final boss fight for the 4th palace is one of the most infuriating things I've encountered in a Persona game
    - With the last part being said, the game overall is pretty easy, to the point where I didn't feel like I needed to think much in terms of combat, Especially when...
    - The DLC personas are very OP, which wouldn't be a problem if they weren't free in the compendium AND available to you at the start of the game, but they are.
    - Some characters completely lose relevance after their palace is completed (looking at you, Haru)
    - I feel that the phantom thieves forgive Makoto (and a certain character, if you know you know) a little too quickly
    -Although this port is the best one we've had of a persona/SMT game since P4G, It still has some bugs (although, none of them are game-breaking)

    Conclusion: although I wouldn't consider this game the best game in the series, It's still a masterpiece that I highly recommend playing, although I would get it on sale if you already own P5R.    … Expand

    Great story, great game and appreciated the elements royal adds to the base game. Runs great on pc and ps5 although I am disappointed that playstation owners have essentially had to buy the base game, royal on ps4 and then royal on ps5.

    Overall a great game with good characters, fun battles and interesting palaces to explore. However, 83 hours into the game, I made a choice that resulted in a "bad" ending. And there's no way to go back and try again, as it marks your save slot as completed. Very disappointing. The game had a LOT of padding and filler content that probably added a good 40 hours for nothing.     Best gaming experience ever in terms of game play to the background music everything was amazing. Really felt connected to the bonds created with the side characters. Did multiple play throughs and didn't get bored once

    Absolutely fantastic game, from start to finish. Superb visuals, soundtrack, story and turn based gameplay. A few complaints like how the confidant system takes too long and some of them are almost useless, and the story taking too much time sometimes, aren't enough to eclipse this absolute gem of a game. You should definitely play this if given the chance.

It is better on the mechanics part of things than the previous ones and finally designed actual dungeons (although Mementos exists but at least they are short enough), I definitely think the game could have benefitted from doing changes to the story, a more serious tone because of the themes and making Akechi go in a different direction than psychopath #2 would have been more interesting, it feels more like superheroes story than the social critic the authors intended to do, I think only the last part of Mementos, Maruki's Palace, and the intro before Kamoshida's Palace were the points were it had a better complexity than beating up bad game so he stops being bad. It is still good, don't get me wrong, it is just I think they settled for a far safer bet and a far safer game.… Expand

    I do not like anime, it comes from a culture that is not my own and this culture has its own tropes that come with most of its fiction that I cannot identify with or enjoy. I also do not like JRPGs, they lean heavily on aspects of anime that I don't enjoy and often introduce worlds, characters, complicated gameplay systems, and insanely long run times that I can't get on board with. All of these aspects combined makes Persona 5 Royal the best JRPG and one of the best video games ever made.     De lo mejorcito del JRPG. Largo, extenso, con una buena historia y un mejor guión. Los personajes pese a ser cliches tienen mucho carisma y te incita a saber mas de ellos y a querer empatizar. Yo le hice sobre 70 horas hasta el final. Es muy rejugable e invita a sacarte todos los finales y mejorar las relaciones. No necesita potencia grafica y va muy fluido con una gráfica pequeña. LaDe lo mejorcito del JRPG. Largo, extenso, con una buena historia y un mejor guión. Los personajes pese a ser cliches tienen mucho carisma y te incita a saber mas de ellos y a querer empatizar. Yo le hice sobre 70 horas hasta el final. Es muy rejugable e invita a sacarte todos los finales y mejorar las relaciones. No necesita potencia grafica y va muy fluido con una gráfica pequeña.     To be frank the gameplay and rpg depth is good at best, lets say a 7/10. But the storytelling, the slice of life immersive sim is so beyond anything else I've seen it's an ez 10/10 for me. This was my first persona so I cant w8 to play p4 which is the best persona according to many. Also the soundtrack is excellent. Cant    A fking masterpiece. Peak gaming and immersive storytelling.

    Very impressive game. I must say it is a brilliant combination of fighting and normal life game-play. PS5Y is a very good game I think. You can literally looks at the game society from many ways. From the crime themselves, the teenagers and the adults in that society. Normally, you would get bored when playing a game too long and companion with a small amount of NPC but the characters inVery impressive game.     This game is a masterpiece. I wasn't even interested in this game as it looked too japanese for me (despite I love Japan!). I got some recommendations to try it out. This was a great decision. The story is something amazing. I couldn't stop playing, because I wanted to find out what happens next! If you are scared of this game being too anime-ish, give it a try for 2-3 hours - you won't regret!

    I played Persona 5 when it released years back not knowing anything about the series. I loved it then, and I still love it now. It’s just a damn good game. Gameplay, character building, story, and the incredible soundtrack. Top notch. Plus, you get a little bit more content with Royal. What’s not to love? If you like JRPGs, then look no further.

    I just love this game like everything is borderline perfect I only played this for the first 3 weeks after it came out and really enjoyed it all the way through. Without going into spoilers I really like the last palace and the antagonist because he is a really relatable character that will surely make you question some of the things you've done until then.

    Mais uma obra prima da atlus, a mecânica base da saga shin megami tensei já é cativante por si só, mas a escolha de narrativa de Persona 5 foi espetacular. Sendo possível criar um apego maior pelos personagens da história. Mas essas melhorias que chegaram no Royal foram magníficas, inclusive a adição dos novos personagens me deixou muito feliz e o novo mapa está enorme e cheio de coisasMais uma obra prima da atlus, a mecânica base da saga shin megami tensei já é cativante por si só, mas a escolha de narrativa de Persona 5 foi espetacular. Sendo possível criar um apego maior pelos personagens da história. Mas essas melhorias que chegaram no Royal foram magníficas, inclusive a adição dos novos personagens me deixou muito feliz e o novo mapa está enorme e cheio de coisas novas para fazer. A inclusão dos novos "minigames" tanto que melhoram status ou te fornecem moedas no thieves den são bem divertidos e dá pra passar algumas horas relaxando. A adição de cutscenes sociais deixou a narrativa bem mais fluída quando se trata de passar tempo com os confidants. Em questão de jogabilidade eu percebi uma melhora muito significativa além do gancho e das áreas secretas adicionadas nós palácios percebi que o Mementos está bem menos monótono com a expansão das dungeons, adição da loja de flores e selos (por mais que já fosse gerado aleatoriamente não tinha muito o que ser feito além principalmente porque as dungeons eram pequenas). A mudança das armas de tiro fez MUITO mais sentido em relação as explicações do metaverso e melhorou a utilidade geral das armas na gameplay de combate. Falando em combate, o Velvet Room está muito mais legal com as opções de batalha, é possível treinar suas táticas de combate e analisar qual a melhor formação em troca de algumas recompensas bem úteis. Outra coisa que me agradou bastante foi a Morgana não ser mais insuportável, a noite se tornou mais aproveitável tendo algumas atividades extras para fazer até quando não dá pra sair da cafeteria. Em relação as fusões achei divertido, passei muitas horas tentando chegar a fusões específicas. É simplesmente um jogo completo e divertido onde sempre há o que fazer, mesmo quando você não quer seguir a história no momento, da pra se divertir de outra forma completamente diferente. Pontos negativos: Se Persona 5 base era um 8,5 o Royal é um 9,5 pelo simples motivo da Atlus continuar não traduzindo os jogos para PT-BR. Simplesmente um dos locais que mais consome seu produto. Quando a tradução chegar reavaliarei a qualidade narrativa com a tradução.… Expand

    The soundtrack, the gameplay, the story, the characters, every single thing about this game for me is so incredibly well done it has to be in my top 3 best games ever made at the very least. Truely a masterpiece that makes me extremely hyped for the next installment in this series, hoping for a new soundtrack that i can listen to for hours without end.

    I've already reviewed Persona 5 for PS3, and I admittedly found it somewhat frustrating. I really want to like it, being a big fan of P3 and P4, but whenever I look at my P5 box, I just feel mild exasperation.

    Cue GamePass and P5 Royal. By most accounts it's a better game than vanilla P5. And, I have to admit, one of the things that annoyed me about the original (at least on PS3) were    I've already reviewed Persona 5 for PS3, and I admittedly found it somewhat frustrating. I really want to like it, being a big fan of P3 and P4, but whenever I look at my P5 box, I just feel mild exasperation.

    Cue GamePass and P5 Royal. By most accounts it's a better game than vanilla P5. And, I have to admit, one of the things that annoyed me about the original (at least on PS3) were the load times. They weren't that bad, but they were everywhere.

    Between rooms.
    Walking up a set of stairs.
    Exiting the classroom.
    And the ones after battles annoyed me most.

    Thankfully the PC version - even the Xbox One S version - blows through these loading screens almost instantly. How much faster? Well, my good readers, I've painstakingly compared between versions how fast I could get to the part of the game where choosing daily activities becomes available, and here are the results

    P5 PS3: 100 minutes
    P5R PC/Xbox One S: 75 minutes

    Yes, that's right, 25 minutes of loading times removed for the intro. It's probably less noticeable on a regular playthrough, which would take about 4 hours to get this far, but over the course of a 100 hour game it will make a huge difference.

    But ultimately, Persona 5 Royal is just, I dunno, more Persona 5, and it still annoys me.

    The first 4-5 hours encapsulate pretty well all the stuff I dislike about the game. Morgana is incredibly annoying and condescending. On top of re-explaining some of the stuff we already saw in the intro scene, he's mostly set up as an exposition dispenser, and everytime he opens his mouth it's a bad case of "explaining it makes it worse". There must be 20 fights early on where Morgana explains all sorts of mundane mechanics. "Use special skills to hit your enemy's weak points", "Enemies are weaker when they're downed", "Your fake gun works here because reasons". I know how a knife works, the pointy bit goes stab-stab. In case you couldn't understand these very basic video game mechanics, after Morgana explains them to you a popup window will reiterate everything post fight. Come on, Atlus.

    I still find the raw amount of dialog frustrating. Conversations take much too long to get to the point. If a character is present during a cutscene, that person will talk, even if they don't have anything useful to add. I don't need 12 paragraphs of discussion to decide we're going into a palace, I just want someone to say "are we going into a palace?", so I can answer and move on with my life. And the chatter just never stops, even outside of conversations or cutscenes. Post-fight quips, tips while exploring, warnings while sneaking around enemies, excitement when there's a chest in the room, in the middle of a fight. Please, just be quiet for a few minutes. Aren't thieves supposed to be discrete?

    How about that new stuff? The grappling hook sounds cool, but it seems like a solution to a problem that didn't exist. The mild inconvenience of going up a set of stairs wasn't magically solved by using a grappling hook, Elon. I always find myself irritated when my imagination goes "hey, a grappling hook would be really useful right now" in a place where it can't be used. The palaces were good without it in the original anyway. **** appearances were clearly added in post, and these scenes feel kinda weird compared to all the other interactions. Maruki's inclusion feels a bit better, but how rapidly his Confidant rank goes up early on is a bit off. I think the guns are better, but still poorly balanced. I don't know why we need Jose or the Thieves' Den. Mementos still sucks.

    Still, it's hard to not look at Royal as the definitive version of the game. I have had some mild performance issues with it, which is pretty strange for a PS3 era game. I mean, I'm running Death Stranding on max steadily over 50 FPS, but this goes down to 30 in crowded areas? It's not a game breaking thing, and I don't mind the game running at 30 FPS anyway - I'm going to get hate for this, but some animations in this game look bad at 60 FPS - but these performance issues seem to be a fairly common issue on the Steam Forums. If I could make vanilla load on my PS3 as fast as it does on PC, or get RPCS3 to work decently, I wouldn't bother even considering Royal's existence.

    If you love Persona 5 and want the best version possible, PC is probably it, though I don't think it's worth more money than any other version of it. If you weren't sold on vanilla, Royal is not going to change your mind.    … Expand

    As a video game it hits all the right spots, 1. Fun to play (extremely). 2. Good gameplay (best battle system of any RPG I have played, acquiring and capturing of so many new personas, even fusing of Personas, epic system of levelling up via battles and through personal growth / learning in day to day life and through bonds with other characters 3. Good story (Epic story) 4. EngagingAs a video game it hits all the right spots, 1. Fun to play (extremely). 2. Good graphics (like playing an anime.. especially on pc) 7. Good sound/music (outstanding sound track, voice acting and effects) 8. Emotional involvement (will play with your emotions and heart strings like a puppet.. and you will love it). You will play for many, many, many hours but you still won't want it to end. When it finally does end you will feel sad but you will also be left with wonderful memories.. and a yearning to return to play through again, and again etc..… Expand

    The heart-touching JRPG comes back, and it is better than ever.

    + Satisfied additional battle function (baton pass, gun, negotiate)
    + Truly captivating story and turning points
    + Really deep relationship between characters
    + Great Music

    Cons
    - Some repetitive activities
    - Semester breaks seem to lack activity
    - Atlus will have a hard time creating better Persona games

    One of the most unique experiences I've had from any kind of game. This was my first game from the franchise, but I finished it with a save file of 100+ hours poured into it. Definitely a game I will never forget. Great compelling story and absolutely amazing characters. I played with the Japanese voice over but I only heard good things about the English one if anyone's worried. And as aOne of the most unique experiences I've had from any kind of game.     It takes a whole 140 hours to finish the game with the side activities, main story, palaces and stuff but it is all worth it. Probably the best 150 hours of your life

    Game gets really good after Sae's palace and onward, Sae, Shido and Maruki's palace are easily the top 3 palaces

    The main story is very engaging and can have you to be emotionally attached to the characters
    it even starts off very well with Kamoshida's arc

    The story is exciting and although sometimes it can be a bit heavy to read so much if the eventong is not in your language. The game tells you absolutely everything without leaving anything to the imagination or script gaps. The RPG part seems very complete to me but with some things that could be improved. And the combat and the creation system of "pokemons" is very interesting and complete.

    I'd give it a 10, but holy Mementos is so bad, and the fact that you HAVE to do it for your confidants, as well as the main story towards the end, makes me subtract 1 star, simply for that boring abomination.

The combat system is very sophisticated. You have the typical Pokemon like elements and weaknesses, etc but if you hit an enemy weakness you get an "1 More" and you can attack twice.     Persona 5 Royal is an fantastic mix of a round based JRPG with monster catch mechanics like Pokemon and a socialising game with a amazing story and a very good plot. The combat system is very sophisticated. You have the typical Pokemon like elements and weaknesses, etc but if you hit an enemy weakness you get an "1 More" and you can attack twice. This 1 more can be passed on to another teammate with a "Baiton Pass" and the damage ascends, so you can make very tactical and good damage-chainattacks. Then you have technical damage, like an burning enemy deals more damage if you hit him with wind attacks. Its wonderful and complex. If you hit down all enemys (because you hit everyone with the weakness or technical) you can use a finisher "all out attack" to deal massive and stylish damage. This is only a fraction of the combat system Persona Games and Shin Megami Tensei Games have. If you like good stories and Pokemon in Chernobyl, this game is a must have!

    Best turn-based Rpg mechanics I have come across, the gun mechanic is great, weaknesses knocking over enemies makes stronger typed attacks actually feel good to hit. story is great.

    It's persona 5 royal but on pc with 120 fps. It's great obviously. I love persona 5, and it's just as good on pc. The story, characters, visual style and music all hold up extremely well on pc. I just love this game to death. 10/10

    Hat leider im Gamepass Skalierungsprobleme. Bei wem die Grafik verspixelt ist einfach in den Windows Anzeigeoptionen Skalierung auf 100% stellen. Ansonsten läuft alles Fehlerfrei

    Have been waiting for it since the original release back in 2016/2017 since I never had a PS4.
    Didn't want to use emulators nor watch much of the playthroughs.
    So happy I can finally officially play it and it's really meeting all of my expectations.

    Es mi juego favorito. Ya va a hacer dos años desde que lo jugué por primera vez en mi PS4. Pero ahora que lo conseguí gracias al PC GamePass, estoy maravillado por el apartado gráfico, el juego se ve hermoso y perfecto a la máxima resolución. Los demás apartados persisten igual se increíbles que en su versión de PS4 y poderlo streamearlo en Twitch cómodamente y poder subir la parte RoyalEs mi juego favorito. Ya va a hacer dos años desde que lo jugué por primera vez en mi PS4. Pero ahora que lo conseguí gracias al PC GamePass, estoy maravillado por el apartado gráfico, el juego se ve hermoso y perfecto a la máxima resolución.     Simply amazing. I finished this Game on ps4 and loved every minute of it. Now that is on pc, I'm playing it on steam deck and it is pure bliss. Simply the finest game I've ever played. Super stylish and an amazing story. Must buy.

    As a console gamer I have played this before and I don't mind playing it for the third time on the PC version. The gameplay is excellent and the music is super awesome. The new characters looks super fantastic and yeah everything else is perfection. If only Atlus would of put the option to romance Yusuke Kitagawa and it would of been golden.     Persona 5 Royal builds on the beloved 2017 role-playing game, with an experience that represents a new watermark for P-Studio. It's the rare reworking that truly justifies a second (or maybe even third) purchase.

    Persona 5 Royal is a JRPG that I can recommend with my eyes closed, open, one open and one closed, in any way you can imagine. It's a solid starting point for getting into both the genre and the Persona series. Yes, it's a relatively long experience, but it definitely worth it. The fact that it comes with such a successful PC port also makes my recommendation process much easier.
