Like other recent favorites Lumines and N+, Peggle hides a thoroughly entertaining and enduring payload behind its deceptively simplistic approach, taking over your platform of choice with its charming mix of wit and lucky bounces.
-
Peggle Nights is crammed with eye and ear candy, all cleverly calculated to reward.
-
If you're new to Peggle, there's no reason why you can't start with this, and if you want some more levels to set off a new bout of addiction, then Peggle Nights is definitely for you.
-
Even though you ultimately don't have all that much control over how games of Peggle play out, PopCap still managed to create an engaging experience by infusing the addictive qualities of slot and pachinko machines into its title through a masterful implementation of sound effects and color.
-
Final word, Replayability: Beneath this friendly, deceptively simple-looking game lies a smug, mocking worst-enemy waiting to happen—just when you think you’re starting to get ‘good’ at Peggle Nights, you’ll come to a new Zen level of understanding at which you realize, in the best meditative sense, that you know zilch, nada, zip, zero, jack-shit, nothing.
-
Peggle Nights, like its predecessor, is extremely polished, challenging and fun.
-
I would have really liked a level editor, but the game is still just as addictive as the original. It is difficult to understand why it's so fun and engrossing, but I suggest that you don't worry about the "whys" and just start playing. That's what I'm going to do.

PC Zone UKAddictive and joyous. [Dec 2008, p.66]

If you’ve played the previous Peggle incarnations by PopCap and enjoyed them, Peggle Nights is a safe purchase. It’s a new coat of paint on a classic casual title. If you’re unfamiliar with the former stuff, do yourself a favor and (at least) download the demo. It won’t disappoint you. Just ask the PC guys, they've had it forever.
-
Bottom line is this: If you’ve never played Peggle before, add 15 points to that score and buy this immediately. If you’re like me and have already played it to death, be warned that there’s nothing new to see here and you may just want to move right along to something different.
-
Changes to the formula are so light that one can’t help but wonder what prevented PopCap Games from making a patch for the original game. The answer to this question is on the price tag.
-
PC Gamer UKThey've made it feel like a franchise they'll dutifully milk, rather than a game they'll love to keep making. [Dec 2008, p.76]
-
Peggle Nights is still a great casual game. It's just a game that PopCap has released before. It's like draughts and checkers. You don't need to buy the board and pieces twice to play the same bloody game.
-
AceGamezWhilst this is definitely a fun game, it is certainly not justified if you own the original. This is simply a very cheap trick by the developers to get twice the cash for what is essentially one purchase.
